Had lunch with my family today. Overall very impressed. We started off with the Cheese Stars as an appetizer. They are basically fried wontons with a sweet cream cheese filling. They were excellent. My wife and I both had the Egg Drop Soup. I like my soup very hot. Therefore, it could have been a little warmer for me. My wife was fine with the temp. The soup was good. Our egg rolls were average. For our entrees my wife had the Sweet and Sour Shrimp and she thought it was the best she ever had. I had the General Tso's and I thought it was the best I ever had. Our daughters ordered off of the kids menu and had the Sweet and Sour Chicken and the Fried Shrimp. They both come with one side. They both enjoyed their selections. Overall great dining experience. We have been looking for a really good Chinese Restaurant after our favorite one changed locations. Panda House is very close to the restaurant we used to frequent. I had the Crab Rangoons, Sesame Chicken and Shrimp Lo Mein. It was excellent, non greasy and fresh tasting. Their sweet tea was sweet and exactly how I like it. I'm from the South and sweet tea is our 'house wine'. We are going back soon. read more

I just went to this restaurant, and my experience was awful. I love Panda Express and wanted to see if I was missing out...now I know that I'm not. Aesthetically, the Panda House is mediocre. There is the small statue to the right when you enter, but it is a very typical American version of "Chinese" cuisine, even though the workers are Chinese. When we entered, the woman was so RUDE about us coming. There was an hour before the store closed; but she immediately asked if it was to go. We shrugged it off--my entire family came, so it was quite embarrassing that she would even say that. We sat down, and an older man hovered over our table waiting for us to order. I felt so rushed but still wanted to give the food a try. We ordered. We had a few sesame chickens, soup, a shrimp dish, and another dish with steak, etc. the sesame chicken came out quickly and was good but obviously chewy since they had probably just heated it up. The steak (stir fry) dish was not good. It looked great--very colorful; but the taste was off. All I could taste was the soy sauce. Honestly, we felt so rushed with the waitress and old man hovering and pacing around ours and another table that it was a turn off to the entire experience. Definitely save your money and go somewhere else. Or do like she said and just get it to go. Geesh. Also, for the record, we were out of the restaurant almost thirty minutes before closing. And I ended up getting a to go box to avoid the dagger looks from the staff. read more

Being an Alabamian, I don't really know what authentic Chinese food is If its what I just ate at the Panda House, I say bring it on. We were stopping to eat Japanese at Mizu next door and bc of the long wait stumbled on this restaurant. The Panda House did many things well tonight. All of their offerings are off of the menu and were fresh! Not something I am accustomed to in other restaurants. Even the children's portions were freshly prepared! Very satisfied. There's an unfortunate lack of Chinese food in this area so besides fast food Chinese, this is about your only choice. The menu is decent, sesame chicken was pretty good, but the rice it's served with us so bland. Literally rice and soy sauce not a good Chinese restaurant rice. I'd say portion size is small to moderate at the very least. Not highly recommend by the four adults that I ordered take out with from here yesterday. I've always loved Panda House but today was my last visit. As a recent bariatric patient, it's incredibly hard to now go out and make good choices. I've never encountered a restaurant unwilling to allow me to order a small portion or from the kids menu but Panda House refused today. I offered to show my doctor signed, bariatric card and they still refused. I'm sure this won't be a problem for most people but for someone that has had bariatric surgery, Panda House is not sensitive or friendly to bariatric patients. A list is maintained on Facebook forums locally of friendly and discriminatory restaurants. Sadly, Panda House joined the list of restaurants today that discriminates against bariatric patients. read more

Considering the fact that this place costs considerably more than every other Chinese restaurant in the area, they could at least finish making the food. Instead, when I got home and opened my dinner, I found all the ingredients in seperate containers and was expected to make my dinner myself. If I wanted to do that, I would have saved money and gone to Publix or Walmart. Also, when I place two orders, it would be nice if I could get my orders separated instead of lumped together in one container. If you order anything battered, expect more batter than anything else. I can't even eat my shrimp because they're 75% batter. Don't expect your food to be warm when you get it home either. They cut holes in the tops of the containers. Why even bother with a lid if you're just going to put a big hole in it? read more

Today was the last time I will ever visit this restaurant. The service continues to get worse. At 3:30 pm, there were only a few people eating there. We waited 15 minutes for service. Our selections were unprepared, and they forgot to prepare one of the two. So after waiting 15 minutes (we were told it would take 5), one entree was still not prepared. We were forced to substitute another entree with no apologies, discount, nothing. As we left, I told the manager I would never eat there again. Her response was "ok". Oh did you know that soy bean is a major crop here in Alabama and we can get it dirt cheap but it is sold for animal feed instead of in the stores.....hmnnnn. Then I asked for "Green Curry Shrimp". Somehow I got chicken with a cornstarch pepper flavored green gook on top. YUMMM. I told the wait person that I had ordered shrimp. She checked to make sure I was not a liar and then said "we can make more for you" I said no it was an honest mistake and I would choke the chicken down. I then came upon a disc of weirdness...I poked and it screamed...just kidding. I poked and it was soft. I had never had this in any Thai or Chinese food ever. I have been to other countries where a dog would not be allowed to eat this garbage. Hey it was a starchy over cooked potato....I know those....I do not eat them because of the exhorbitant amount of starch that my body does not require on top of rice. To top this wonderful disaster off I asked for a to go bag so that I could torture my family with the dibocle and was brought a chinese take out box that would hold about 10 oz of food. I politely asked for something to take my entire dinner home and she so sweetly said I will bring more boxes for you. I did not want to lose my mind or tongue at this point and begged my companions to allow me to leave the tip. NOPE so I paid for food I did not order, could not eat and was not allowed to take home unless I wanted to put it into 10 tiny boxes. DO NOT GO HERE YOU WILL BE FED POISONOUS DREGS AND KICKED IN THE TEETH AS YOU LEAVE. Oh I called later after I had calmed down and the woman refused to give me her name or the owners name. Then she told me and I quote "too bad you lose" then hung up on me. Nice. I only have one question- is picketing still allowed? Oh and since I'm boycotting Walmart where would I get the materials to make my sign? Ok two questions.
