Kati Thai Cuisine in Gadsden is your first and last stop for Authentic Thai in Gadsden!! We were in town visiting our grandson and were craving Real Thai food. This little place is exactly the kind of hidden gem you hope to find--completely unassuming from the outside, a true "hole in the wall," but serving absolutely incredible food with stellar service inside! We started with the Nam Sod, and it instantly took me back to my childhood. It was served the traditional way with crisp cabbage leaves for scooping up every bite of the spicy, flavorful ground pork. Fresh, authentic, and absolutely delicious. I ordered the Tom Yum Goong; which is my scale for measuring a Thai restaurant's authenticity, and it was perfection. The broth had that unmistakable umami flavor with just the right balance of spice, tanginess, and aromatics. The prawns were large, fresh, and cooked perfectly along with the perfect mix of herbs. My husband ordered the Pad Kra Pow with chicken at a FOUR-PEPPER chili heat, and it was exactly what he was hoping for--bold, spicy, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavor. Our daughter stuck with her okd favorite, Pineapple Fried Rice with chicken and shrimp. She's quite the rice connoisseur, and her enthusiastic thumbs-up said everything that needed to be said! The service made the experience even better. Our sweet blonde server was warm, attentive, and even took the time to share travel tips and local points of interest around the area, making us feel like welcomed guests instead of just customers. Great food, friendly people, generous portions, and authentic flavors--everything you hope for when you're looking for Thai cuisine. We'll absolutely be back again before we leave Gadsden! read more

This is a quaint little place. My daughter and I went for lunch around 1:30. There were only a few people there so service was fast and the food was hot, The staff is very friendly. I ordered the pineapple fried rice and my daughter got the rice noodle bowl with curry. My rice was a little sweeter than expected but I still enjoyed it. My daughter enjoyed her meal as well read more

Really shocked with how good this Thai place is. The flavors were BOLD, the choices and portions were really good, and the prices were great! BE MINDFUL OF HOURS OF OPERATION -Closed Sun/Mon -CLOSES FOR 2 HRS from 2p-430p Tue/Wed/Thu The restaurant is small so just beware if you want to come with a group larger than 6. ‼GET THE POTSTICKERS!! if you like a little spice and red curry/coconut flavor these were really great. It's just steamed potstickers but the sauce...wow chefs kiss Only complaint is that the summer rolls are only served after 5pm (why? It's all fresh ingredients easy to have ready that are part of any other dish) They were out of cabbage for my tofu and vegetable soup. I requested extra of the other veggies in its place but 2 strikes in a row for an appetizer wasn't amazing read more

Everything we had was incredibly delicious! Of course, the sauces and curry made the difference. We had Potstickers, Pad Priew Wan, Cashew Nut, Curry on the side, and split a Coconut cake for dessert. The staff were friendly and the service excellent. They are small, but they can seat more than you'd think. Will definitely remember this place when we come this way again! read more

Server was kind and helpful. Food was not hot. In fact it was cool by the time I got to the bottom of a Massaman Curry. And the potato and carrot chunks needed to be cut up with a knob, but no knife on table. read more

Fabulous gem of a restaurant that is a hidden secret! second time we plan our travels through Gadsden around lunch!!! Excellent service and a nice healthy option while traveling - just minutes from I-59. AWESOME!!!!!! read more

This is the only Thai restaurant in the Gadsden/Rainbow City/Attalla area. I've been here several times and every time has overall been a good experience. The wait for food to arrive to the table is around 20 minutes. The only appetizer I would order again and again would be the Fresh Basil Rolls. They're only available after 5pm so that's usually when I go. The Curry Noodle Bowl is my favorite entree so far. I don't even like coconut but their Coconut Ice Cream is just divine! read more

Been here a couple times now, once really busy on a Saturday at lunchtime and once not so busy mid-afternoon on a Saturday. Both times service was excellent and food quality was superb. As far as quality goes, these guys rank as some of the best Thai food I've ever had. Good selection of traditional and somewhat unique menu items. Serving sizes are moderate to large and prices are on par with any other Thai food place I've been to in the past. Casual low key environment, so if you've just finished hiking at Noccalula falls or you've just dressed from a meeting you may have had, you don't need to worry you'll fit right in with everyone else in the place. Worth seeking this place out if you are anywhere in the area and looking for a fix for that Thai food craving you may have. Looking forward to trying more of the menu items, soon! read more

My wife and I just moved back to Alabama from NJ and though we are glad to be back living in the South, we do miss all the food options we had to choose from there in the NYC metro area. So, finding that we have a Thai restaurant nearby is a nice surprise and it's not just decent, it's delicious. Everything we had today including the pad Thai, the coconut soup and the fresh squeezed lemonade was excellent. We will definitely be coming back for more. read more

Upon pulling up to building I wasn't sure I was in the right spot, but once I opened the door it was a very clean and air conditioned nice establishment that had tables full of guest. We shared the spring rolls ( very good) I had the drunken noodles with 2 pepper spice level ( excellent ) my sun had the pad woon sen ( delish ) I would definitely drive to Gadsden again to enjoy this fabulous meal. read more

Got the pad woon sum chicken with spring rolls. I also tried the crab angels...Delicious!

Food is great. I loved it. Place is busy as expected due to quality food. I recommend it to everyone.

I would have given this place 4 stars but we had a few problems. I really wanted to like this place & my dish (Gingerine Chicken) was really good. But my husband didn't have the same experience. So here's my mixed review: CONS- 1) No one greeted us at the door. We had to ask if we seat ourselves & were told there probably weren't any clean tables. Although there was one right in front of us. 2) We sat for a good 15 minutes before they took our drink orders & another 10 minutes to get our drinks. 3) Food took a long time also & when it came out my husband had asked for no sprouts in his Pad Thai but got them anyway (and he hates them). He was really mad. 4) I like Splenda for my tea but it's not offered. And there were no straws for the drinks. PROS- 1) My Gingerine Chicken was very good & similar to a place we eat at & love in Huntsville called Big Bowl Thai. My son also liked his drunken noodles. 2) I asked to substitute out mushrooms for broccoli & carrots & they did no problem & remembered this. 3) Waiter was nice once we got to our table just not quick. Seemed like they needed at least one more waiter. 4) This place is a little bit of a dive but in a good way with fun quirky decor. 5) The location is cute & right across from the park with the waterfall. I would definitely give this place another chance if I am in the area again but not so sure hubby felt the same. Lots of potential to be a fantastic restaurant with some tweaking. read more

Had to grab a few Boston Butts from Paul's Mountain Meats with my son so we walked across the parking lot to Kati Thai. I got the Drunken Noodles and my some got the Pad Thai. I'm not sure of the particular ingredient that I wasn't fond of but overall the dish was good. Plenty of food to fill me up and take some home for lunch tomorrow! Next time I come here, I think I'll get the Drunken Fried Rice. My teenaged son really liked the Pad Thai and had ZERO leftovers. I was absolutely floored when I had him try the Basil Rolls with me as the appetizer and he LOVED them! The rolls are only available after 5 pm and comes with 4 good sized sections. The sauce that served with it puts this appetizer over the top. Highly recommend this! Again, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and will find more excuses to "be in the neighborhood". read more

This is hands down the best Thai restaurant I've ever been to and one of the best restaurants in Gadsden period.

Currently on a road trip through the southern states and was in desperate search for some spicy Thai food. We ordered the larb, drunken noodles, and massaman curry -- all at a 3 spice level. This is pretty true to the Thai spice scale. very satisfied and craving fulfilled! great, incredibly friendly service too read more

One of the cleanest places in Gadsden. I've been going here since it first opened pretty much and if you're new and not sure what to order the Chicken Pad Thai you can't go wrong with. Everything is honestly really good but if it has a pepper on it and you can't do spice avoid it Overall Kati Thai has never failed to disappoint. read more

I was referred to this gem by a local client. Very small, quaint location for a Thai restaurant. The service was very good but the food was even better. I enjoyed a pineapple fried rice with chicken and shrimp. Very reasonably priced and authentic Thai. Don't miss this next time you are in Gadsden, AL read more

Over the years I've developed a love of Thai food & have become quite persnickety where it's concerned... WELL NOW...A few days ago I was about to make my trek from Jacksonville to B'ham for a to-go supper order from a tiny treasure of a Thai kitchen that is a delightful, awesome authentic Thai experience I've enjoyed for several years from my years of working in BHM... Strictly, out of boredom the night before, I decided to search 'Thai' nearby knowing I'd find nothing interesting that I hadn't tried before.... A 5 star review popped up of lightly reviewed small restaurant with a certainly non Thai name that I passed on.... After a few moments I went back to it to take a look at it...heck, I was bored!!! OH MY GOD...Sometimes the lord speaks quietly!!! That's how I found KATI THAI CUISINE!!! I read the few reviews, saw a pic or two... folks were raving.... about a little place named Kati across the street from a local water fall park in Gadsden......I looked at the menu & became curious and a little intrigued...after all, I wasn't in the mood to drive to BHM anyway.... I made note to order a couple of dishes that I always use to measure against the best I've had..... On my drive the following morning I placed my call to Kati....A delightful hostess (Morgan) took my order: Drunken Noodles, double shrimp & chicken, Thai Hot... she asked me "Thai hot, are you sure?" "Absolutely" I responded.... I'd read great reviews of their Pineapple Fried Rice so I'll have that as well!!! Let me tell you, This was as great a Thai food experience as I've ever had.. and I've had it EVERYWHERE.....Wonder wide Flat rice noodles, large fresh Gulf shrimp, juicy bites of chicken all perfectly seasoned... and the fried rice as AWESOME as other reviewers described.. maybe better!!!! Advice... Thai Hot IS THAI HOT... hold on!!!! (Otherwise go for 3 pepper heat, plenty hot) HUGE PORTIONS & enough for 3 big boy meals!!!! Thanks Kati ( &Morgan) you've saved me hours of drive time.... Note: Masaman's Thai Kitchen, I haven't forsaken you...... yet...... I think....? Or maybe I have,,, Kati's only a hop skip & jump away!!!!! read more

Great experience!!!!! We were in from out of town and were so excited to see vegan options. The food was amazing. We went twice over the weekend while in town. We can't recommend this highly enough! read more

Sometimes I miss living in the big city, but having a great Thai place nearby definitely alleviates the homesickness!

Kati Thai offers surprisingly good Thai cuisine for a restaurant in a town as small as Gadsden. The restaurant is small and dimly lit, but has a warm and inviting atmosphere nonetheless. There was only one server while we ate, but he was on top of things, pleasant, and had a good humor. Our food was obviously cooked fresh, but still arrived promptly. The Thai iced tea was perhaps a little too sweet and had a slightly strange aftertaste, but it was still pretty good. We sampled the dumplings for an appetizer. They were steamed and served with a sort of citrusy sauce. Very fresh and flavorful, perhaps my favorite part of the meal! Complimentary soup was served with our lunch special. Super hot! Our friends had drunken noodles and Kapow chicken. They chicken was particularly well received, and our friend complimented their adherence to the three pepper spiciness level he asked for. Just enough to clear the sinuses and feel the burn! I had pad see ew and my mom had cashew chicken with bell peppers and brown sauce. We liked the cashew chicken better; we thought the chicken was cooked perfectly and the sticky rice really soaked up the flavorful sauce. Pad see ew noodles were also good, not gummy or stuck together, but I do wish there had been more broccoli. All in all, I definitely recommend this place! read more

My boyfriend are from Arizona and we made this our last vegan meal in our vegan food tour before leaving Portland, Oregon. We heard so many people recommend this place for great vegan food, and we had to stop by. The food did not disappoint!!! Just sad I have to go back to eating the regular pad see ew from Phoenix because it doesn't live up to the greatness of Kati. read more

Kati Thai Cuisine - Pad see ew x2. So delicious!!! - Thai Near Me - Gadsden, Alabama

Great place !! Love several of their dishes: Panang Curry , their sweet and sour dish, and Pad Thai.

If I am passing through Gadsden, I am probably going to stop and eat at Kati Thai. Do not be deterred by the exterior or the location. You will be delighted. EVERYTHING I have ordered there from tea, appetizer, to entree has been delicious and freshly prepared--so I don't have a favorite because I have enjoyed each so much. The atmosphere is casual and family friendly. Double check their hours as they do close for a short time some days after lunch and before dinner & are not open Monday or Tuesday. read more
