We have became basically regulars here maybe once a month sometimes twice and have always had great service and food has been great, portions absolutely reasonable.Incredibly consistent. I ordered a plate with double orange chicken, fried rice, chow mein and veggie spring rolls. The portion size of the orange chicken was probably one scoop, spread across the box. The portion size of the chow mein was ridiculous small, along with the fried rice. I couldn't even share with my kid because there wasn't enough for the both of us, so obviously he ate it, after I warmed it up. But everything was cold and we waited for awhile in the drive thru so I thought, "Fresh Food!" Wrong. Won't be back for a long time. read more

I always go to panda express on Maple Avenue in Zanesville and I'm always happy with my product. But today that was not what happened. I usually get a plate with two sides and fried rice. And they always give a really good amount well today that was not the case. One, they didn't have large lids and I'm guessing they also didn't have no plates. They put them in small containers and they were like any other Chinese place. But, they give you more when you have a plate. For paying $12 I did not get what I wanted and not to mention they forgot my sauce for my spring rolls. read more

This is only my third visit to this location since they opened here in Zanesville. My first stop was horrible, they had just opened and I was told by manager that they were sorry they were just learning. So I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I waited and came back a year later. The second visit wasn't horrible but sure wasn't the hype I had heard. Today was my third and final visit. I ordered a plate with lo mein and my wife ordered a bowl with rice. My plate was cold within 15 minutes of sitting down and the noodles were a little dry. Her rice wasn't fully cooked so she went back to the counter and they told her they were making fresh rice and would have to weight so she decided to change to lo mein. They gave her a container of lo mein and no entree despite the bowl being mixed which meant she would have to pick out the entree from the original bowl. So I went back up for her since she hates confrontation. They tried telling me she just wanted to switch and didn't tell them the rice was uncooked. Uh no, I heard what she had told them and why on earth would they tell her the rice was still cooking if she had just wanted to switch sides?? They had a real attitude about the whole ordeal despite us being polite to them. I do NOT recommend this location to anyone. read more

Update 4-17-2022: This was the only Chinese place we could find that was open today, and we figured we'd give it another try. This is the first we've been back since 2018. I'm not sure how this location stays open. The food was again burnt, dry, and cold. It had obviously been under a heat lamp for a long time. We ordered fried rice and received white rice that was barely edible. If you like Panda Express, go to a Columbus location and avoid Zanesville. Yuck! 12-18-2018: I used to eat at Panda Express in Columbus all the time and loved it. This new place needs some more practice or different management. Waited several weeks to try out the new Zanesville location. The drive-thru was still packed. Was extremely disappointed. Everything was cold, dry, and tasted burnt (Orange Chicken, Beijing Beef, and fried rice). The egg roll actually was burnt. It's been about a month or so and word must have traveled because there's never anyone in the drive-thru or parking lot anymore. read more

Not the greatest for sure. The portions are very small, $9.00 for 3 lumps of food? The flavor of my vegetables was bland, lacking seasoning in the fried rice too. But to top it off, my wife was gifted a small piece of metal in her rice! It wasn't foil but some kind of harder but brittle metal. We wouldn't have even noticed it if I hadn't sampled some of her fried rice. Panda did refund our money and give us two $10 vouchers for our trouble. I haven't decided if I'll use them and give a second chance to the chain. I like that I can order on the app and just pick it up and go so they get one star for the conscience. read more

I ordered their two entry meal with a side of fried rice in their drive thru. Shrimp and beef. The shrimp were not cleaned/de-shelled before battered and fried. The steak had lots of bone in it from marble-size to granular. Thought I broke a tooth. The fried rice has soft, squishy mushrooms, some kind of greens (perhaps broccoli). Do not go here. For the money, avoid and go to a real Chinese restaurant. read more

Very clean comfortable new place. The restrooms are fantastic. I ordered one plate, it comes with two entrees and a side. I ordered a beef and a chicken entree with side of mixed vegetables. Both beef and chicken portions were very small. The meats were well prepared but in a very salty sauce. The vegetable were bland. Normally, one expects large spears of broccoli, it was like small flowerettes. The vegetables seemed to be put through boiling water and left to dry. Normally, Chinese restaurants are known for their vegetables, it was a disappointment. I have four recommendations: 1.Increase the portion size of entrees by 30% 2. Reduce the amount of salt in the entrees by 50% 3. Replace mixed vegetable with sauteed Chinese vegetables 4. Add broiled salmon to entrees. read more

This is one of the worst fast food places I've been. They NEVER have a full menu. Went there for lunch today at 12pm on a Friday and they only had 2 items on the menu. (This has happened at least 3 time. ) They also on a regular basis don't have white rice. It is one of the most poorly managed restaurants I've been to so far. read more

I would much rather give a place a good review. There is a great reasonably priced Chinese restaurant in Zanesville that I frequent and have been avoiding the chain. I thought I would give it a try and much to my dismay the menu has very few entrees to choose from. One of them is not the Chinese staple sweet and sour chicken. That is a must have for my children to enjoy. The food was not hot and the chow mein noodles were very dry and under cooked. On top of the small portions and not very tasty food they messed up my order. I'm not sure this place is going to make it in a town that has two pretty good places within two minutes of this. If you want to try your luck here, I do not recommend the chow mein noodles or the cheese rangoons. read more

My cousin just had surgery and she wanted to get Panda Express, seeing as we had never been there before. We pull around to the drive through and order what we had taken a little time to decide on, we had a bit of a complicated order as she is vegetarian, and there really isn't an option, anyhow things are going smoothly enough until we pull around to the window. Since we had never been there before, and were so concentrated on the menu it slipped our minds to say we needed the order split.... the girl at the drive thru was so annoyed she rolled her eyes and shook her head as she walked to the computer and pressed three buttons on the pos to change the check, snatched the card out of our hand and although I'm sure she didn't mean to she scratched me! Yikes! And ran our checks wrong, clearly out of frustration. I asked to talk to her manager, who came over was polite and apologized. The 1st was right after opening and wasn't impressed with the quality of the food, but thought maybe it would improve after employees got a little experience under their belt. 2nd time the food was actually pretty good, although pricey. Will never be back after tonight though. Got a beef & broccoli bowl. What rice that was cooked was in mushy clumps, while the rest was hard & uncooked. I came from Tulsa, Oklahoma and have been eating at Panda Express and similar fast food Chinese most of my life. I was so excited North Zanesville was getting one. I went 11/12/18 around 6pm. The menu is so limited at the drive thru it was sad. For someone like me who doesn't eat red meat and can't do spicy food I had very few choices. Everything I would normally have gotten at a fast food Chinese place was unavailable except fried rice. I settled for orange chicken and fried rice with chicken eggrolls. The meal was what I'd pay for a Chinese Restaurant with waiters. The portion was pathetic. Rice is super cheap and you can't give more than a cup with a very small portion of chicken? I paid about $9 total. My eggrolls were burnt. I specifically asked to make sure we got fortune cookies and they still left them out of our bag. I would have paid less and gotten much larger portions at any of the Chinese restaurants in the area by ordering off their take out menu. And I could have actually gotten what I wanted to eat. Just went through the drive through was asked 3 times it I wanted to give to virus I said no 3 thime ordered $28 worth of food asked for sweet and sour sauce. Drove 5 miles home brought the food inside looked in bag no sweet and sour sauce. The spring rolls were cold inside and out side the refried rice was cold also. I called to complain about no sauce and was told "sorry about that". at a time when Businesses are trying to hang on you would think a Manager would make sure everything was done right. My husband and I have eaten at probably four other Panda Express takeouts between Columbus and Canton. We was super excited to have one close to home in Zanesville. Our first trip was a so-so visit, the service was slow at best, food was lacking of flavor and quantity was poor. We said ok they've only been open a few weeks every one deserves a second chance. So we gave them a second chance, we went over around lunchtime in mid March there was no one in the parking lot, it was just after they opened for the day. Thinking great, the food is going to be HOT and FRESH! WRONG, the food that was there may have been hot and dried out, but out of the entrees available, there was maybe two ready to go, the chow mein was all cabbage and the rice was dry. But the cook was out in his car "on break burning one"????? So we left discouraged ! We thought recently one last time let's try again, I should have known when we passed the cook in his car again, and the lot was relatively empty! But we went in, placed our order and no rice WTH! What type of Chinese establishment runs out of RICE ITS YOUR STAPLE for 90% of your menu!!!! No Orange Chicken, No Pepper Chicken , No Walnut Shrimp and it's 5 pm it's too late to make anymore. NEEDLESS TO SAY WE HAVE GRACED TO DOORS OF THE ZANESVILLE PE FOR THE LAST TIME, we prefer to travel either to Canton or Columbus. It appears there is only one cook that is ever there, there is someone back there that doesn't cook she just stands holding up space!! There is one really nice counter clerk that is very apologetic, but as for the rest of the crew and the management it leaves much to be desired!!!!!!!
