This stop became regrettable as each component tasted aged, poorly prepared, and inconsistent from bite to bite. The visit was about 6:30. Not off hours. Tried this location the other day for the first time and I am a fan. While this style of food is very Americanized Asian fare, I found that my food still had a touch of authenticity and lots of flavor. I went to panda Express to try a new offering , the wok seared sirloin and shrimp. I honestly thought it was great. The beef was tender and flavorful, the shrimp very plump and not overcooked at all. The meat along with some veggies and potato were covered in a flavorful brown sauce that reminded me of a Chinese black bean sauce. I would eat it again in a heartbeat. I also like the Panda Express fried rice as it is never sticky and has just the right amount of texture to it. I picked up some of their mustard sauce which I had not tried before and it was very good. It has lot more flavor than most of the portion control packs you get at other Asian restaurants. For fast food, this is one of my favorite places to go. Great food for what it is and that is a quick dine segment of the restaurant world. Can you get a better dish of Chinese? Yes. But you will not find to many that are better and in the speed of this Panda Express. The building is very clean and wide open so you can see the food is cooked in a trustworthy manner. Quality of the food was not up to standard that I've had from panda before. Typically I've had delicious fresh flavors from other locations I've visited. Three or four stars? This was a close call. I went with four because of the food (the service pushed it closer to a three). This Panda Express is a new addition to our community. This was my first experience at the chain. The layout is like that of Qdoba. You go through a line a customize your plate. For the money, a lot of food. I have no complaints on portion sizes. The guy that was filling your plates was helpful to the family before us with "how this works". The menu board was informational enough for my hubs and I to get the gist. The selections are laid out before you in all of their glory. So you actually see what the entrees look like which I loved. The selections all looked very fresh and promising. It was hard to choose. I chose the Mushroom Chicken and the Orange Chicken with fried rice and spring rolls. Hubby's two were Chicken Shitake and Sweet Fire Chicken with an egg roll. After worker #1 completes your entree it is ppassed to worker #2 for sides. He also collects your money. Hubs figured he must have missed where the mustard and soy sauce were on the line. I volunteered to go get some. I went to the gentleman at the cash register and asked for mustard. He quickly handed me six packets. The temperature of the food was not quite hot enough. I forgot to ask for soy sauce. Went back for the soy, he was with another customer and seemed a little put out that I was back. He roughly handed me three soy packets. At the drink station, it was a disaster. It had not been tidied up in a while and I almost slipped on an ice cube. Our food was all room temperature which was very disappointing. I want my food HOT. Also, the Mushroom Chicken didn't have a lot of flavor. Which is a shame because I would do almost anything for mushrooms. Saying that, the Orange Chicken made up for it! It is so very good that I almost have no words! A light crunch, not too sweet, a little heat, and just flat out good! It is evidently their signature dish and I can see why. We had never been to Panda Express before and found their buffet a little confusing. I chose fried rice and a steak & shrimp dish then she said I could choose from any of the entrees. I thought I already had by choosing the steak & shrimp. My husband wound up with fried rice and what they called chow mein. He was totally grossed out by the cold noodles. The egg rolls were very brown and over-cooked, but not bad flavor-wise. The girl that waited on us was friendly and courteous, but not very helpful about getting through the choices.
