First and foremost, I need to say - If I were the one reading this review as opposed to the one who wrote it - I would NEVER believe it. With that said, I will try to list the items [to be addressed] in the order in which you will experience them if you choose to visit the Panda Express on Warrensville Center Road. First of all, the lunch line is all the way to the door, which doesn't say much because it's due to slow service and not high demand. When I first entered, I couldn't even shut the door behind me for a lack of space to do so. Service is cafeteria style, like Subway, where you tell the server what you want and he or she puts it into the take-out container (even if you're eating in). The menu on the wall doesn't provide enough information, so you have to keep asking the server the necessary questions, like "Is this dish spicy?" or "How many egg rolls do I get if I select it as a side!" The rice and lomein offered is made without meat or shrimp and is very poorly seasoned - no soy sauce to be tasted at all, and there was no Soy Sauce at the tables or in the 'napkins, straws, & silverware' area. The booths were decent, but there was only about six booths in the entire eating area, and most of the tabletops (to the table & chairs) are as small as the average serving tray, with too low chairs made of hard wood and piping. The dining area itself looks like someone's well-kept basement - dark walls, dim lighting, charcoal gray floors, and a ceiling that was very clean, but still looked like it would be a spider's dream-come-true. I was supposed to get three side dishes with my order, but the server had to move on to the next person, so he said to the cashier "She gets spring rolls for her side," but evidently she didn't hear him hence I had to 'debate' with this indignant young lady in order to get the rest of my order, which included my having to call out to the first server for confirmation of my entitlement to the spring rolls. ...And the young lady, 'Mia,' never even bothered to apologize to me. ...And did I mention the fact that, while you're in line, waiting for your turn with the server, there's nothing more to do during that [approximate] four minute wait, but glance nonchalantly at the diners, some of which you are standing 'literally' - and I DO MEAN 'LITERALLY' - six inches away from (only a three foot tall divider-wall separates the diners from the ordering customers still in line). ...The only thing worst than having nothing better to do than 'stare at diners' while you wait in line, is having diners staring at you from the line while you are attempting to enjoy your meal! The entire time I was in the restaurant, I only seen two Asians, and they (Filipinos) were eating in the dining area. The cooks, servers, cashier, and prep staff were all either completely white or completely black. ...Not to imply that only Asians can cook Chinese food, but rather that this may well be the source behind the lack of Asian seasoning in the food. The quality of Chinese food in this so-labeled 'Chinese' restaurant is equivalent to an experience of going to a supposedly 'authentic' Italian restaurant and being served Chef Boyardee canned spaghetti. Again, people, I am not attempting to urge you to take my word, but rather encouraging you to open your eyes to the grievances that I have claimed because, as I stated, I've presented them in order to make it easier for you to confirm before spending your money. Prices are the same as most other Chinese restaurants (two can dine for about $15.00), but the servings are extremely small compared to competitors, which is another thing that you can 'see for yourself' before ordering. I left there still a little hungry - I could have really used a fortune cookie or two to help fill that empty belly space, but they didn't have any, which for me, was indeed 'the icing on the cake!'...(The cake that I was wishing I had). read more
