We came for lunch on the solar eclipse day as it was close to our hotel. We were the only couple. There were some customers for take out. It was quiet there but we had a very good experience. The food was well prepared and they were all delicious, although they were not all necessarily tastes the same as those in the east coast. They were different but good! Make sure asking for the authentic Chinese menu. The waitress was nice and attentive.

Hunan Solon with a sign I can read.

Ordered a carry out on my way home from their website, and it was ready when I arrived--twenty minutes. When I drove up the sign lights were off, and it looked closed. I told the lady. I was thinking that people staying in the nearby hotels may look for a dinner place, and would never see the restaurant in the dark. I hope the outside lights get fixed soon. The tangerine roughy (fish) I chose included a sweet sauce, and was delicious. I made two meals of it. The crab Rangoon was fried wonton filled with a cream cheese, crab and onion mixture. Crunchy and good. Hunan is a good choice off Aurora Road as you go into Solon.

Walnut chicken

So flavorful and huge portions. The scallion pancakes were out of this world. Walnut chicken was crispy- even as takeout! My son loved the jalapeño chicken and Tom yum soup was the perfect flavor. Highly recommend and wish I lived closer so I could try more from the Chinese menu

This what they call Teriyaki Chicken. Looks like they had been sitting all day. Dried out, no teriyaki anything going on here.

See photos. Terrible food. Service (for takeout) was slow. Go to Hunan Chagrin Falls or Imperial Wok.

Shrimp with garlic sauce!

If I had to rate…read moreit from the first time I've had it, it would've been zero stars but the subsequent orders were not quite as bad. My date got takeout from here--the most standard order possible: sesame chicken, lo mein and appetizer of potstickers. The lo mein was offensive. They used skinny rice noodles and used all oil but no seasoning. The noodles were bland and HARD; like, just no. How do you mess up lo mein??!! The chicken was also bland and drowning in some radioactive orange concoction that was all corn starch. The "potstickers" were undercooked and burnt at the same time. Like, what? The tips were hard but the body of the dumpling was like chewing on uncooked dough. Lordy lord, it was like made by people who had only heard about Chinese takeout. I had some dishes again at a party and another time ordered in at a smaller get together. Okay, quality was slightly better and comparable to Panda Express (current, not how it was before). Presentation looks like it would be better but then you bite into everything and it's just not that good. Solon, we can do better! Can we get a better and more authentic Chinese place? C'mon guys!

We shared the Peking duck, the Singapore mei fun, the cold cucumber appetizer, and cocktails/mocktails. Pros: The presentation of the duck was beautiful. It came with various toppings and pancakes to wrap the duck in. Everything we ordered was good. My lychee martini was also very nice. Cons: Service was very slow and inattentive. (We are easy to please, all 3 of us having worked in the restaurant industry, and I still tipped well) The restaurant is very brightly lit - like a school cafeteria. Safety - this is where the evening fell apart.... While we were dining, we were seated close to the bar. A gentleman sat at the bar and ordered. Soon after, another man approached him and began to threaten him. He was using the N word repeatedly, cursing, and getting louder and more agitated as time went on. A couple of patrons at the bar tried to intervene, but as he continued to escalate, they returned to their seats. When the man threatened to shoot the other man, our group hastily left the restaurant. On our way out, I mentioned to the women at the hostess station that the situation by the bar was escalating , becoming dangerous, and that someone should contact the police. She said that the managers were monitoring and were aware. We will not be back. I am disappointed that this is how our evening abruptly ended, having to leave quickly and in fear for our safety. I know that the establishment cannot control a situation like this initiating, but to allow it to continue and continue and not do anything at all is unacceptable. I did call and leave a message for the manager the next day and also sent an email to the restaurant, but no one followed up with me.
