Worst customer service I have ever gotten in my life. 1st time ever going there and got told that "He could tell" I was a 1st time customer. I was pressured into NOT ordering more and told that I didnt know what I was doing while ordering. He was rude and over bearing. Didn't want answer questions or anything. Umm its chinese food?? Will never go back. Didn't even order everything I wanted because I felt so uncomfortable and couldn't get out of there fast enough. Mind you, I was in food service industry 10+ years. The portion and price was reasonable, that's what earned the two stars. The taste of the food was not so great. The general Tao chicken sauce was watery and had a powdery aftertaste. I didn't get any utensil but maybe I was suppose to ask for that? The fried rice was not great either. It is a carry out only place so not much ambiance. read more

Food is very good and fresh and served hot. I get their hot and sour soup without meat, chicken, and they gladly serve it without meat. Their homemade hot mustard is awesome, it's so hot you only need a little drop of it and it will definitely clear your sinuses. I also get their veggie egg rolls, they are also delicious hot and fresh and cooked to perfection. It does have a couple tables in their lobby but they are mostly a to go restaurant . Thank goodness it is called Magic Wok because that is what it will take to make this any good. Suffice to say after spending over $25 on three chicken combination plates I ended up eating leftover broccoli casserole from my fridge. The tough and dry chicken tasted like it was heated up from yesterday, but then everything looked like it had been sitting around. The broccoli was way overcooked but then nothing seemed fresh. Very little sauce in each one and more than half of each plate was rice. Even the fried rice was nasty. On the plus side, the white rice was okay and the egg rolls were fair. So if you're looking for white rice, they've got you covered. First and last visit. read more

I had to get take out tonight and got to eat at home alone without anyone to question my overuse of gravy on my pork Egg Foo Yung, or my insanely hot Szechuan Chicken (that got me perspiring), and my amateur use of chopsticks. It was a fine evening. The food from Magic Wok is always reliable, fresh, and packaged to stay hot on the ride home (about a ten minute trip). Their prices are in line for the quality, and I'd say that they're one of the better Chinese places in the area. Set your expectations reasonably. This isn't NY or SF, and the Asian food here is honestly not as good as those areas; having really large communities to represent and consume the food yields much better offerings in those areas. But we're proud of what we have here in NEO, and I'm glad that Magic Wok is in the neighborhood. read more

Maybe this is a relative rating; relative to every other Chinese restaurant in the area. If you are in town from New York, Chicago, or even downtown Cleveland, I suspect you won't be selecting Magic Wok. For those of us who live here, this is really is the best of the best. The General Tao's is definitely not a General Tso's, for better or worse. It almost tasted like a hot sauce for the chicken. Their fried rice is dark, but very well done. The Pad Thai is good. The chicken dishes are good. Everything is good. Probably even above good. They only use white meat chicken, that means chicken breast. That's why it earns a 4th star. The people that work here are very nice and hospitable. If I have one recommendation, it's the size of the fried chicken chunks. It's like 1/4 chicken breasts that have been breaded and deep fried. Which isn't bad per say, but you definitely need to cut the chunks into 6-8 pieces to be able to enjoy it with the sauce of choice. You can always judge a Chinese restaurant based on how leftovers taste the next day, and Magic Wok passes that test. read more

I have had Chinese food from several take out places and this has to be the worst of all. Chicken and broccoli is mostly broccoli and no chicken. Chicken was not fresh, it was chewy. I paid extra for dry and bland lo mein. It was just boiled noodles lumped together. Never coming back to this place again. read more

The meal we had as take-out was so salty, we couldn't even eat it. Maybe an extra 1/2 cup of salt was dumped in accidentally?! This is one of the worst places for Chinese food. The General Tso's chicken was dry and horrible. Tasted nothing like the General Tso's I've had at other restaurants. And I also ordered the Cashew Chicken and that was terrible. The fried rice does not taste good. The only thing I found good was the Crab Rangoon. I love this place. I was away for 4 months & looked forward to coming back so I could come here. When I got home I ordered something that I have never had before, & probably won't ever order again. It's the Garlic Chicken. I love garlic, but this is just too salty. I think that they use garlic salt instead of fresh garlic. Everything else that I have had here has been great. read more

My wife and I just stopped eating our meals from here and we are immensely disappointed, I say stopped because neither one of us finished, not because of the portion size either! I'll start with what I had had which is the General Tso's chicken, the most bland sauce you can imagine, I'm glad I got it spicy as that was the only flavor, and it appeared all they did was throw some crushed red pepper flakes in it unlike other places that put the little red peppers in. I actually considered putting barbecue sauce on it since it just tasted like I was eating chicken fingers! There was plenty of sauce, it just had no flavor. I will say the chicken was all white meat and of good size, so it didn't feel like you were eating just breading. My wife had the beef with broccoli, again very bland. Her meal was very dry with almost no sauce and the broccoli was obviously old and tasted as such with white around the edges and no vibrant green color that fresh broccoli has. Once again the beef seemed to be of higher quality than most other places, but it literally tasted like we were eating unseasoned beef strips. First I had spotted a dead mosquito on the floor while looking at the menu which should've been my first warning sign. When I got my pop out of the fridge there was another bug on the lid and my to go container had 2 bugs stuck to it. The food was not good either. We've had their food before and it was good. This Christmas eve it was terrible. Our selections were devoid of meat. We ordered teriyaki chicken and it was teriyaki onions and a one piece of asparagus. The other selections were the same. What a disappointment. Did not like this food at all. The fried rice was very dark and had an odd taste. The Egg Foo Young Gravy had that same taste. The pineapple chicken could have been better, if the chicken pieces were smaller (three large chunks) and the chicken was dry. The General Tsao's chicken also had very large pieces of chicken and almost no sauce. The crab rangoons were dry and chewy, not crispy and the filling was bland.
