But the people I were with said the line usually moves pretty quickly. They were right, it wasn't too bad. One thing is for sure, with the amount of food they're pumping out, it's always going to be hot and fresh. Drove 1 hour one way to get food here. 2 days in a row. Didn't have Rangoons both days and didn't have chow mein the 2nd. They Couldn't be bothered to care in the slightest. Reached out to support and got ignored via email the first and told "we will let them know" on twitter. Wasted 4 hours of driving in 2 days to get nothing while trying to actively give them money. I have lived all over the country and visited many different Panda Express locations. I can say that this is the worst and slowest location that I have ever been to. It doesn't matter what time it is, the line is always super long because they do not efficiently handle their orders. I went at 3pm in the afternoon, and it took an hour for them to go through the ten people in front of me. By the time I got to the front, some of the less popular items look like they had been sitting for quite some time, and they were still serving them. Other locations would have replaced them after sitting out for so long. Do not go here. That's my assessment and warning. read more

This is my go-to spot at The Maine Mall when looking for something to eat. The staff is very friendly and they are always bringing out fresh food. They typically have one of the longest lines at the food court. I have to commend the guy at the beginning of the line as he fulfills an online order, listens to the next person in line while simultaneously making the online order and yours. It's quite impressive his ability to multi-task. My only complaint is the lomein and fried rice are always dry. They require a packet or two of soy sauce, but the flavor is usually there. Of course I got the orange chicken and it's the same flavor and quality I come to expect at any Panda Express I have been to. I do have to note that owners are very responsive to feedback and willing to go the extra mile to correct any wrongs so long as you take the time to provide the feedback or reach out to their customer service team. read more

We were at the Maine Mall shopping and we got hungry. Going to the food court finding a place that opens around 11am can be a challenge. The Panda Express was open and had a line. We joined the line and it was moving fast! We decided to share a plate after watching them give generous portions to the customers in front of us. I've been coming to Panda Express ever since I was I was a wee lad. I used to love it so much, and it was absolutely delicious. My personal favorite was the lo mein and the orange chicken. I have decided to come back to panda express today, eight years later to try the same meal again. I was devastated to find out that the lo mein is no longer lo mein... It is just noodles. It does not have the same flavor or texture, and it was very disappointing. The orange chicken is exactly how I remembered it. Delicious and has a little bit of a kick. I also decided to get the crab Rangoon's, and was very disappointed. They did not like the taste like crab Rangoon's at all, and they were not worth my money. I suggest if you enjoy crab Rangoons, avoid them at panda express at all costs. They don't even taste like cream cheese, they just taste like scallions. If you ever plan to do shopping in South Portland, ME and happen to visit Maine Mall then visit this place for Chinese food! The place is in the Mall's main cafeteria area, it is run by a family and very friendly staff. They have multiple options from sides, entree which usually comes in bowl (1 entree + 1 side), plate (1 entree + 2sides), large plate and drinks! We had bowl, entree chow mien and side orange chicken. Chow mien was the best one I had so far, it was little greasy but tasty and orange chicken was good, on sweeter side. For the price paid, the quantity and quality of food is excellent and tasty! One can grab food from this place and enjoy at mall's open cafeteria sitting arrangement. read more

This location is perpetually understaffed as evidenced by the mile long queue of people that snakes it's way through the food court. Why don't they line up along side the wall next to the restaurant you ask? Well I guess that would just make too much damn sense. The staff also move extremely slow. No sense of urgency here and it's infuriating. I love the flavors of the food here, but why do chicken dishes consist of 3/4 filler vegetables and 1/4 protein? More than half the time they're out of whatever new dish they're featuring. All in all the experience here is always dreadful. I always dreaded coming here u til I eventually just stopped altogether. After living in Hawaii for many years, Panda Expess is well know. We were happy to see this at the Maine Mall. Of things to note, this place is popular as the line often has 15+ people waiting to order. The food is the same other Pandas; however, a few things left us disappointed. The first thing is they do not give a fortune cookie when you order a meal. I always thought this was a given, but apparently not. The second thing is the steamed veggies are often wilted and do not look fresh due to sitting to long. Most likely this is due yo most people ordering rice or noodles. I'm a big fan of Panda Express and I eat there all over the country since I live on the road. I also like my food spicy. For some reason this Panda Express has a policy on limiting the Chili packages to 3. I've been there before and they have told me the same thing. There is no way they will give you 4 and in my case 5 is definitely out of the picture. The extra 5 cents is going to break them. This is not the policy at any other store we've been to. The one good thing that came out of this practice is that I have a case study for the business classes I teach. read more

The family stopped in the Maine mall on way back from vacation for lunch before a long trip home. Panda express was my choice and avoid choice it was. 5 if out party if 11 chose panda express. The chow mein was fresh and full of flavor, the orange chicken was very fresh and delicious as always. The beijing beef tasted great considering it was the first-time I had it. Sometimes you need a fried food fix. I have no illusions about Panda Express. It is what it is: Fried protein in a syrupy sauce with rice on the side. The reason I stopped eating at Panda Express is due to the cockroach I watched walking on the pillar next to their station in the mall (between their station and the now defunct Sbarro). If something as skittish as a cockroach has no qualms traipsing about in broad daylight next to a line of people, I'm scared to know how many are in the kitchen or in my food. read more
