Was thinking maybe they put more chicken in the Bottom of my bowl but nope! Lots of rice and minimal sweet fire chicken! Disappointing

I thought that maybe they had put more chicken in the bottom of my bowl but nope. They gave me a lot of rice and very minimal sweet fire chicken. Very disappointing.

Edible but the meat mostly just tastes like dog food. Even the fried rice and egg rolls aren't very good. Probably won't me going back.

I just moved here from Colorado and omg this place is awesome! The dumpling soup is unreal!!! I…read morelove bok choy and there was so much of it in there. The flavors are amazing! The fried rice also 12/10! real chicken and they don't skim on the portion sizes! Wow great place and will be my new go to spot

Disclaimer: I am Chinese and grew up eating my mom's home-cooked Chinese food for every meal, and…read morethen ordering from a Chinese restaurant on the rare occasion we ate out. If your idea of Chinese food is orange chicken and General Tso's, then this review probably won't be helpful to you. If you're looking for real Chinese (not American Chinese) food, then prepare to be disappointed in Missoula, because it doesn't exist here, full stop. But what are those of us to do when we're craving a taste of home and too lazy to cook... Well, if you lower your expectations, you might find something decent. Pagoda's food, both Thai and Chinese, is consistently mid. There's something to be said for consistency. For Thai, Missoula has much better places in town (Zoo Thai is the best, if you can get in; on busy nights they won't even do takeout). For Chinese, well, the pickings are slim; Pagoda is slightly better than China Garden, and while the best "Chinese" food in town is probably the 42b Singapore Noodles at Vietnam Noodle (yes, really), sometimes you don't want curried fried noodles, you want a proper wok stir-fry with lots of veggies. So, choose a dish that doesn't sound sweet -- Hunan and Szechuan sauce are both decent -- and order it at 5/5 Thai Spicy (it will be medium spicy). They don't have an absurd markup for the more expensive proteins, which is nice. A side of rice is free, also nice and getting less common these days. Portions are average for a Chinese takeout restaurant anywhere else, but bigger than the other Thai restaurants in Missoula. Is this restaurant good? Umm, maybe. Will I be back? Yes. For Missoula, they're trying their best and not nickel-and-diming about it. And if you actually like American Chinese food, I hear it's decent here too.
