Love Pho Vi! The food is delicious, the portions are big, and the service is lovely. It's our go-to spot in Missoula.

I have never written a bad review, I really don't like the idea, but I was just really disappointed in the pho here. I am vietnamese and have always loved going to pho places anywhere i go and i've never had pho like this before. The meatballs were literally ITALIAN SPAGHETTI MEATBALLS. I was baffled. Id much rather they just say that they don't have meatballs than put frozen italian meatballs in my pho. the broth was not pho broth either. it was good broth, but didn't taste like pho. i think they don't use any chinese five spice in it. they also do not have any traditional pho additions. they don't have tendon, tripe, and apparently no meatballs either. they did not serve the pho with mint or basil or lime. just a sprig of cilantro and some bean sprouts. they did not even have chopsticks. really really sad that both times i've come here i've had the same experience, i thought that the first time i just came on a bad day and tried to be understanding of them not having any traditional pho protein options. spring rolls were good and the stir fry my husband got was decent. just don't get the pho. just to be sure that i posted this to the correct business, this is the pho place that says "vietnamese noodle restaurant" on the building, not the name of it, "pho vi". read more

The pho tasted weird. It leaves a weird coating in your mouth. The meatballs weren't the right color. I can't pin point exactly what it was but the flavor of the broth was off too. The rare beef was dry. But the workers were very nice. read more

One of the best if not the best bowl of pho I've ever had.. I've eaten pho in Denver, Phoenix and California amongst others. Broth is rich and flavorful. Savory with a hint of sweetness. No tiers of pho, no tendon, tripe, brisket, just simple top round beef pho. They also had chicken or seafood but no add-ons. I also had the beef Bahn Mi sandwich, baguette was fresh, chewy and flaky, good amount of marinated beef and fresh pickled and non pickled veggies. The sandwich was very big but the combination is amazing. This is a 4.5-4.75 experience but have no choice but to round up. Definitely recommend! read more

Between this and their old restaurant I've been eating their food for 16 years. It tastes the same as it did 16 years ago, amazing. The customer service is amazing and their prices are amazing. There are very few restaurants that have this consistency in food, pricing and customer service. Go eat it, you'll thank me... well more importantly you'll thank them. read more

Spring rolls were great although a little pricey, but the kids meals were a joke. I ordered noodles with vegetables and it had a little bit of cabbage and carrots and was basically spaghetti noodles not Asian noodles. The chicken fried rice kids meal was a joke. Very disappointed. Very courteous service. I had to wait for my grilled pork banh mi's so the owner chef offered me a cup of hot tea while I waited. Can't wait to try them. Whoa! I came back to edit my review after eating the bang mi: worth the wait. Just be forewarned- these sandwiches are huge! Totally shareable. This place was amazing! We only ordered takeout so I can't speak to the dine-in experience, but the service and food was so great we'll absolutely be back. It was our first time in Missoula so we were relying on Yelp to pick our meals. We had a ton of good food in town, but this was the best! I got Pho with veggies and tofu. It had so many veggies I just kept finding more and more in the bottom of the bowl. My wife got the curry fried rice and that was even better than the pho. It had tons of flavor and again was a very large serving. Between the two of us we paid just over $20 and had more than enough food. I have frequented many of the restaurants that have occupied this space over the last 30 years and PHO VI is by far the best. The food was delicious. I can recommend the curry fried rice. It had a nice complex flavor with just a hint of heat. The spring rolls were also very good (full of fresh ingredients and all the right flavors). The dining room is small and they seem to do a lot of take out/delivery service which may be the way to go if you are living in Missoula or staying in a VRBO. read more

I'm from California and I'm used to having authentic Vietnamese food. Pho Vi is not the spot for you if you have had authentic Vietnamese food. The pho doesn't have flavor, feels like they pour some pho broth powder and threw a lot of water in their broth. I ordered their grilled rice dish beef and the beef is over seasoned, I need to eat the cucumbers to balance the flavor. They also don't have dairy free options for Thai tea which is a bummer but maybe a blessing in disguise. I've had bad Vietnamese food in California as well but this is worse than the bad experiences I've had in California. read more

The best pho in Missoula! Try their special rice noodle soup! It's similar to pho with an amazing special broth and rice noodles, and topped with pork, shrimp and meatballs! It was my favorite item to order when this family operated business existed as Vietnam Grill in downtown Missoula, and it's still my favorite at their new location as Pho Vi on Brooks Street! If you're in the mood for something more traditional, you can't go wrong with the Pho Tai! They also have great rice and noodle dishes, tasty Thai tea, and a huge menu that is still begging to be explored after all these years. I was disappointed with the sandwich it was missing the cilantro and the green onions and it tasted like a regular chicken sandwich it was not spicy it wasn't had flavorful as the the Vietnamese restaurant I had it's lacking in flavor their egg rolls was not the best as well. Pho was horrible this time. Anybody who knows me would know that I always rate the food for it's flavor and authentic. If I could give it a zero star I would. The first time i had it was ok alittle on the sweeter side but it actually had flavor. I decided to give it another try and this time it was garbage. The pho had no flavor at all, tasted like rice noodle & beef swimming in a bath of hot water. They didn't even have the right noodle size. They ended up using 5mm noodles which are the really fat noodles you would use for Pad Se Ew. I even tried to make it taste better by adding fish sauce and it was still a big fail. I ended up taking 3 bites and that was pretty much the end of that story. I'm a huge Pho fanatic wouldn't usually give this low of a rating but it was hands down the worst I have ever had. I hope other customers don't have to experience how bad the pho was. read more

Had lunch here and had the pho with beef. From the first spoonful, I was impressed with the flavorful broth. Noodles were tasty and the meal was very filling. Make sure you don't have the young male serve you. First off he sat us at a dirty table. We stood waiting for him to return and wipe it, after 5 minutes, went up to the counter and he was doing other things. Had to ask if he would be willing to clean it. Secondly, is not familiar with the Vietnamese cuisine and kept trying to sell me a salad for Bún thịt nớng. I waited 10 minutes for him to return with someone who knew Vietnamese, but he never did. Had to go up to the front, wait in line and ask the lady. She knew right away. Food was okay. Service was dismal! There were only a couple tables full. Lastly, a big ant was walking across the floor.
