If you like spicy but not crazy like some of the Tso dishes, this was perfectly seasoned. In other words, the best I've ever had. My biggest concern was going to be the breading and sauce and chicken. Most often the breading is like a turtle shell, the chicken is overcooked and as I mentioned the sauce is too spicy and I think because of the caramelizing and reduction. Also you could cut the chicken with a fork, it was so tender. This is my first encounter with Mai City, won't be my last as there is more to try.

On its own, that's enough for me to give something a try but I only keep going back when it's great and this place is. Their standard breakfast and lunch menu satisfies nearly all tastes but their specials are always so good that I nearly always choose them. I really like that they use high quality ingredients and most of the produce is locally and organically grown so not only does it taste great but it's also nutritious. Prices are not insubstantial but the portions are massive - I always eat 1/2 burrito and save the other 1/2 for later. Considering that, it's really a good deal. The service is friendly and prompt. The ambiance is unpretentious - it's basically a roadside food truck so while you can sit outside and eat at one of the picnic tables on a nice day, I usually plan to grab and go. You can see from my pics that it's adjacent to the Rustic Hut on Interstate 93 on the outskirts of Florence, MT - pretty easy to spot as you're driving but can be missed if you're distracted. So overall, you're gonna get great food from nice, hardworking people and directly contribute to the local economy - that's checking a lot of boxes.

Said she thought it was bacon and not black beans. Drove 20 mins back to get correct burrito. I honestly wish I would have just thrown away the first burrito and saved the gas and time. Not worth the hype. I want to support local, but I'll make my own at home.

There are only about eight items on the menu, but each one sounded delicious. We had the crispy chicken bowl and the Tocino bowl. Both were delicious. Biscuits and gravy was very disappointing: Biscuits- hard, chewy but the taste was good if that makes sense. Actually had to use my knife to cut the biscuit properly over cooked or warmed in a microwave?? For the Elk gravy- it was disgusting, there was a couple small specks of meat to be found. But it was over powering taste of onions. They should call it Onion gravy because that's all you can taste and no meat. Definitely don't not recommend the biscuit and gravy! The rest of the breakfast was fine and tasty. Coffee is very strong and bold flavor. Not for the weak of heart. A lot of people have commented on the wait time for their food. So we had about a 15 minute wait to get seated and the food took 40 minutes from the time we ordered until it arrived at the table. Will I go back? Yes I want to try some more of the food. My coffee was never refilled, nor was there an offer of a refill on my black coffee until they literally brought the check. And then, after receiving less than stellar service, when they saw that I wasn't tipping on my credit card was actually verbally scoffed at with expectation by the waitress who was processing the card to the point where it made my wife uncomfortable, and she had to tell them that there was a cash tip on the table. Had I known their behavior would continue to be so abhorrent towards their customers I wouldn't have bothered to leave a cash tip either. Unfortunately, the food is great, but the atmosphere is about as good as an outhouse in summer. As a Missoula native and longtime liquid planet customer, we won't be spending any more money with that business, or any of their other locations.
