I am handicapped and use a cane. I tried to call to place order to pickup.. Phone was busy for 20 minutes. Went inside to order. When I mentioned the phone to the cashier, he said "yah, that happens ". No apology...not anything. Waited for order. Asked for a carrier for shakes. Was told they were out of carriers. So I asked if someone could carry to my car. The 2 guys at the counter looked at each other then turned and walked away! This is just BS. This was the 2nd time with sub par customer service. For a Fast Food Burger Joint the burgers are good and you will pay about $3.00 more than other burger joints of comparable stature. Now you do get a bag load of fries and they are good. Milkshakes are awesome to wash everything down with. Did I mention you get free peanuts to naw on while in line to order food. Best part just throw those shells on the floor. We come up from great falls to grab a usually decent burger but this experience is ending that. We used the mobile app to order our food, when my wife went in there to pick it up she was screamed at by a young man for not checking in bringing her to tears. That was the first issue, the next we both had different items on our burgers we come to find out they combined both of our ingredients between both burgers and completely missing others. I reached out to them for a chance to solve the issue but they are not concerned... poor service, poor food, poor representation of a usually great burger joint. In and Out vs Five Guys. That was the back and forth battle between friends of mine. I had tried In and Out in Las Vegas, but I had not tried Five Guys till this past weekend (07/10/2011). Luckily, there was a Five Guys next to my hotel in Missoula, MT that fateful weekend and decided to try it. I was like a lost puppy when I stepped foot in that restaurant. Had the feel of In and Out, but I felt so out of place. When I asked questions, the casheir graciously explained how the ordering system worked and I was happy. Ordered the bacon cheeseburger with the cajon spiced fries. Omg! The cajon fries was simply amazing! The burger was quite surprising, but it was so good too. I would have to give my recommendation to Five Guys, since my experience and taste was significantly better than In and Out. Would love to recommend Five Guys over In and Out any day. read more

I just always feel cheated when I come here. It's over priced thats for sure but I guess it's fun to build your own burger so I won't complain too much. The fries are always the best part of the meal. I recently have been ordering the hot dogs instead of the burgers. I recommend trying them. Saturday August 21 we were traveling into Missoula from Charlo after a long day to hauling cattle and decided to stop in at 5 Guys for burgers. When I realized that they close at 8pm I tried phoning in our orders-busy signal. Waited 10 minutes-still busy. So I tried the app and at 7:24 was told that no online orders were being accepted. Tried calling again-still busy. So we drove on and arrived 12 minutes before closing. At the front door was a burly male employee who barred the door and said I could no come in unless I had already place an order. I tried to explain why that had been impossible and he came at me. I dodged him and went inside to place our orders. Miranda who was at the counter refused to take my order and said that she was refusing me service. When I questioned why she said that she would call the police on me and I left. We went to Wendy's where we were greeted cheerfully in the drive-in and treated like customers who are valued. It was extremely disturbing to be treated like a hostile enemy at 5 Guys-I am 68, my husband is 73 abd we are Montana ranchers as is our crew. read more

Love Five Guys burgers, however this location is a two star. Parked in back due to pulling a trailer and we were met with the smell of two employees smoking marijuana. I asked Jeremy if it was standard protocol for people that order last get food first but he rolled his eyes and walked away. The fries everyone's crowing about are flaccid and overly-greasy; not in a good way. The burgers leave something to be desired, as well. LIke advertised, they do one thing very well - burgers and fries. I came here when it first opened and I was amazed at the retro decor and very simple menu. The sacks of potatoes in the seating area was also a nice touch. They have an army of people working behind a counter and the burgers tasted great. I like how you can add toppings for no additional cost and they've certainly got a wide variety of them to choose from. My only gripe about this place is walking out of there smelling like a deep fat fryer. read more

I went to the Five Guys location in Kalispell, MT a while back and really enjoyed it. I'm not much for fast food, but every once in a while this sort of thing really hits the spot. So I had a craving and decided to hit up the location in Missoula. First, it seems expensive; I mean, $21 for two people (2 bacon cheeseburgers, 1 large fry, and 2 fountain drinks). However, that's not really a big deal. The big deal is this: I ordered for carry-out. They called my number, my friend and I drive back to my place, and we unpack the bag. As I'm pulling out the burgers, I notice a HUGE discrepancy between the size of the two sandwiches. Now, remember, these were supposed to be the same sandwich. I have a feeling something's wrong, so I gave the bigger sandwich to my friend and unwrapped my little guy. I pulled the bun apart to find that I'd been given a bun, toppings, and NO FRIGGIN' BURGER. They straight-up forgot to put burger patties on the bun. This wouldn't have been a huge deal, but on this particular day I had a meeting that started in about 20 minutes, so I didn't have time to go back. I called, and after about the 20th ring I got someone there on the phone. I think this guy was the manager, but he seemed really confused: "Five Guys Burgers and Fries, this is [someone]." "Yeah, hi. I was just there and ordered food to go." "Uh-huh." "When I got back to my place just now, I realized there was no burger on my burger." "...seriously?" "Yeah. Seriously. It's a bun with some toppings on it." "Dude." "...dude. So, does this happen often?" "No. No. I don't know where you are, man, but if you come back in we'll totally hook you up." I went in after my meeting and talked to the guy. He asked me if I wanted two burgers and I said no thanks, I just need the one. Then, because I was grumpy (and feeling a little silly) about driving across town to resolve a fast-food mix-up, I asked him for a refund. He stared at me blankly, turned to the grill for a second, then turned back to me and said it would be no problem. He went to the till, handed me an arbitrary sum of money ($15 and change), and then told me to have a nice day. Apparently he'd already forgotten that he was supposed to be making me a burger. I didn't have the energy to deal with it anymore, so I just took my strange refund and left. I doubt I'll be back again. read more

My second 5 Guys meal. I had the bacon cheese burger (BCB) "all the way" except for mushrooms; fries, and a strawberry banana shake. The BCB so far is the best gourmet fast food burger I have tried. Basically a double patty with double cheese it is more than a meal! The fries very well done - great mixture of flavor and texture (soft not crispy) and more than enough for two. The shake is the topper - a thick vanilla shake with fresh strawberry and banana thrown in! At this time, my choice for a gourmet burger! read more

I've been wanting to go here since this was the only recommendation I got for stuff to do in DC two years ago (I never made it there...), and when I stumbled upon it after a 4 or 5 mile walk up and down the Clark Fork, I was ECSTATIC. The fries, while plentiful, were also kind of soggy and not particularly tasty. (I'm effectively vegetarian at fast food places, so no burgers for me.) Really frustrating experience. Ordered food online, and went inside when order was supposed to be ready. No signage other than "pickup". Waited with many others, for about 15 min. Finally, saw someone else get frustrated and go up to pickup counter and they gave them their name. So, I did the same. He then informed me that I was supposed to come to the counter and let them know I was there so they can finalize my order. So, 25 min after order was placed - still no food. I let the employee know they should provide instructions when ordering online - to go to pickup counter and give name upon arrival. Also, placing a sign would be helpful. He shrugged his shoulders and walked away, no apologies. Two other customers asked me if they should go to the counter too (to pickup mobile orders)...after hearing my conversation w/the employee. All in all, it was 50 minutes from the time my order was placed online, to when I walked out (this was for four burgers and 1 regular fry). My online order confirmation said it would be ready in 10 min. No apology was given, several others followed suit after seeing me and two other customers approach the counter (these customers had also been waiting a while too). Customers seemed unhappy, employees seemed overworked...perhaps management could simply post a sign and that would clear a lot up. Also - after all of that our food wasn't good. Gross, overcooked fries, wrong burgers, and 2 of our burgers crumbled apart:(. Pretty crummy experience overall. read more

Five Guys is usually one of my go-to's anytime I am stopping in or driving through Missoula. The customer service, and quality, however has gone downhill, and I do not know if I will be returning any time soon. We had placed a mobile order through the app, and the only instructions the app had given was "to go to the pickup counter and your order should be ready within 10 minutes." Once inside, there were NO clearly indicated signs or instructions for mobile orders, so I just followed the instructions on the app and stood by the pick up counter. Not one member of the staff acknowledged me. Then a young gentleman, came in after me, and also stood at the pickup counter, and one of the 2 employees near the counter acknowledged him, and asked for his name, as he also placed a mobile order. I still received no acknowledgment, so I stood there and waited, and finally one employee started yelling out names on the receipts, when I heard my order, I raised my hand, and the man promptly started yelling at me for "not checking in and just standing there." I told him I was just following the instructions on the app since there were no signs, and that I didn't know because I'm from out of town. The man then yells "I DON'T CARE" loud enough that other employees and customers in the store stopped and looked at him." I grabbed the food and hurried out of there in tears. Once I got to the car in the Five Guys parking lot, the fries were cold, and gross. I was so upset about the experience, I didn't even check my burgers until I got back home to Great Falls, and both of the burgers were incorrect. We have tried reaching out to corporate, with absolutely no response. Garbage service, and subpar food. This location is going downhill. read more
