Frugals, i didn't realize this was a chain. I often go to Frugals in Port Angeles WA, but this one is definitely nicer. The idea is good food at low cost, much like it was in the 50's. i haven't had anything bad here, and the prices are good too. I usually get the crispy chicken, my english friend say the halibut burger is the best, and you can't go wrong with a hamburger. The drive thru line can be a little slow, but there is a walk up window option. The staff was friendly, efficient, and helpful. The drive thru restaurant itself brings back some of the Americana nostalgia. read more

Hit or miss on the service. if they screw up your food, they just keep sending it through the window and tell you it's correct kid in the drive-through literally screwed my food up twice and then when I questioned him out the window, he literally lied to my face and tried to send me on my way and I had to drive all the way back and when I asked for a refund, the girl was talking to the drive thru person about me returning and was smiling about it like it was a joke..the manager tried to tell me that it was because it was backed up with orders. Don't order online, there is no easy way to ask to remove an item or build a burger with the checkboxes. Apparently my clear, concise directions set someone off. I even pre-tipped. Never again. Seems as though the this seems to be a common occurrence here at Frugals, that the shake machine is either down or they are out. Seeing that they just opened, I find it odd that their machine is broken and I also find it odd that they advertise something (since opening) that they can't even provide mid day - it's not like I'm coming in at the end of the day when supplies become limited. Otherwise, this place just seems like the new hype in town and I'm sure it will die down soon. Try some place else, you'll probably have better luck in getting what you want and you won't have to wait forever in line. On another note, I think it looks a little tacky for the same person responding to customer reviews to be the only person who has left a positive feedback (acting as a non affiliated customer). Decided to give the hometown new burger joint a try. I understand the place is new and there is always going to be some kinks to work out ... (BUT)... I waited in drive-thru line about 15 minutes. I ordered 3 Combo meals which cost $24.10 (decent value) The bags were stapled shut so I didn't check them right there and there were many cars behind me, so I drove on out. Half way home I opened one of the bags to eat some fries and realized Frugals only gave me two (2) orders of fries instead of the (3) I ordered. I was not going to drive back and wait another 15 minutes to get the missed fries. Pretty frustrating :( especially since I had family members at home waiting for their meal. I decided to stop by 5 Guys and Fries since it was on my way home to order fries so everyone at home would have fries...(even more frustrating -- that I had to do this). Overall a frustrating experience with Frugals. You guys need to have all take out orders double checked because nobody wants to have to come back! Owner was blasting the front order area with pressure washer at the beginning of the lunch rush so everyone in line got misted and beach seats are a bit damp. Kind of an odd time to be doing that, right? It took a few minutes for anyone to come up to the counter to take my order. The owner had to stop pressure washing to tell someone to come get my order. Burgers are decent for the price, but not sure the fries are any bigger than a McDonalds small. Although they were good, I think they are a bit overpriced. The milkshakes tasted fake and were fairly runny, so I do not recommend them. You can't serve a mediocre Huckleberry shake in this town--there are just too many good ones available. The strawberry was the same. My biggest issue was with the handoff of my food. They called my name and handed me a stapled bag. Not very smart! Trying to fool the people not trusting their food to have positive reviews from actual customers. I posted a comment in April about their flavorless very thin chocolate milkshakes. That is a common complaint and they always have an excuse. I was in Missoula this summer and mom let my brother in law get her another even though she said she was through with them. Same thing. One look at it was all I needed. When I complained in April, The manager got back with me asking for my address (actually my moms as I was staying with her) and he would send coupons for free shakes.
