Missoula Broadway location: Our family called in an order. I ordered chicken Osaka with extra sauce and slaw on the side. When my husband picked it up he reiterated that I wanted extra sauce. What I got was no Osaka sauce and no veggies (it even said veggies on side on the receipt). So I got dressed and drove the 20 minutes across town. I told the manager there was no oska sauce which made the meal extremely plain to which she answered, "but we cook the chicken in a ginger sauce, so it wasn't plain, besides I bagged this and I know there was sauce". Trust me, the last thing I'm going to do is crawl out of my comfy sweatpants and drive 20 minutes across town to try to scam an extra sauce. Won't be back. read more

Brought a friend to the Broadway location because I wanted her to experience the Chicken Osaka which I love. We arrived at 12:30 and there were only a few other tables occupied. After we sat down an employee informed us that they were out of white rice and that it would be a twenty minute wait so we went with brown rice. It was okay but everything was room temperature. It seemed like the food had been scraped off the bottom of pans that had been sitting out . We needed more soy sauce and there was exactly one packet available. Employees seemed checked out and completely uninterested in helping customers. Not much slaw on the plate at all. The potstickers were great but they only had one of the two options available. I love Noodle Express. It's just a fast food Asian American place, but it's so good. The sauces are so delish and the rice is so good, seasoned perfectly. Teriyaki or Osaka Chicken, Green Beans, Miso Soup, and Potstickers are all fabulous. Most meals are served with a Cucumber Slaw in a lovely Asian Vinegarette. Ask for extra Osaka or Teriyaki Sauce! Beer and wine are served at this location. It has a Drive-up, Pick-up window. Sub brown rice if you prefer. Don't go to the mother restaurant called the Mustard Seed. Its a rip off with most of the same dishes at twice the price with little consistency. You'll get outta Noodle Express for $7-10. read more

I really like Noodle Express for quick Asian food. Their chicken, shrimp and tofu are good quality (haven't tried the beef). Their teriyaki sauce is amazeballs and you can buy bottles of it in local grocery stores. I'm giving them 4 stars because I really wish the mall location served wraps like the Broadway location does. read more

I'm still a fan, but our Chicken Osaka orders over the past 3 years have been hit and miss. The way the chicken is cut and cooked seems to have changed, and not for the better. Several times now, the chicken has been bland and didn't have that light touch of ginger sauce browning on it. The brown rice has been unremarkable (maybe a change in supplier?) The coleslaw remained refreshing. So here's the deal Noodle Express... it is taking longer and longer to get to Broadway after we leave the freeway and this past August we had a dismal drive to the restaurant only to experience a meh meal. read more

At the one in Southgate Mall, I figure it is pretty much the same sauces that you would ge in the Mustard Seed for about 1/3 of the price. One time I saw the cook grillup a bunch of chicken breast for an order and when I questioned if all the dishes got such a generous helping, he was honest enough to say No. Turns out that guy was his roomate and getting food enough for a couple of meals. Seriously what a pleasant surprise this place is. It's a fast-casual joint with pretty awesome selection of noodle and/or rice bowl delicacies. The menu is pretty extensive for what it is so you might spend a few minutes thinking about what you want (still worth it). They are not close to the freeway but it's well worth the extra few k hates drive. Somehow this place manages to entice you with the most basic of culinary rules. "Make sure it tastes great". And boy do they follow this rule to the tee! And while the don't overdo the portions, they are healthy enough to fill ya up, but also leave room for their huckleberry cheesecake which is amazing. Moved out of state several years ago, but am in town 3-4 times a year and have looked forward to enjoying their offerings. After last night I probably won't go back. A bowl of very dry rice is not what I expected. My wife's was the same or worse. Maybe two bites of slaw, and two to three bites of dry protein. The Sweet and Sour Chicken was soggy, and all breading, and three very small pieces. The Thai pork rice bowl had less. If I could give "0" , that would be appropriate. You order a rice bowl and that's exactly what you get a bowl full of rice with a couple of pieces of chicken and very little vegetables.
