Too dry chow mien. Uncut tofu. For me.

Made sure to have this out pitstop because we like their food. Apparently we got upset. The lady is doing it so fast, she is doing one of our order and asking the next order after the next order. Ending up that our orders are mixed up for a party of seven. If not for my husband I would give our orders back to the lady and let it redo everything. I got the driest chow mien I ever tasted from Panda, and uncut tofu. Busy loud ambiance.

Usually we don't go for Panda at home but getting tired of burgers on a driving trip. This Panda is busy so food is freshly cooked. Plenty of choices, including having half fried rice and half noodles. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating, nice for us traveling with our puppy. Service is fairly fast and efficient, we didn't have to wait too long considering the long line on a busy Sunday early afternoon. Plates are only $1 more than blows but with a lot more food, definitely get it instead of bowls. Best part of the meal is the free fortune cookies! :)

A Socal roadtrip tradition; Panda Express just before climbing up the Grapevine. It just happens that we are in the area at or around the lunch hour and the kids always expects this Chinese food before Southern California. Alas, in our most recent visit, I felt that this branch is a step or two behind the Panda Express I frequent in my area. Chow Mein is tasted flat and the Orange Chicken felt old (soft). This Panda is pretty much two-stars rounded up to three because of tradition.

My wife loves panda and here we are coming back from SD. We were super tired and hungry after 5 hours of traffic. Pulled in to get some pans only to be disappointed with the quality of food when we opened our plates. Everything old and stale. The food was so hard and dried up. I'm not sure if they are following the standard, policy and procedures.

    Embarrassing portion size

I've never written a yelp review but I had to today. The manager was the one serving me and I get that they're told not to serve too much but this is crazy. This had like 4 pieces of chicken.

It's sad that you pay for a premium item such as the black angus steak, and you get the smallest scoop ever. Don't get a premium item here.

It's sad that you pay for a premium item such as the black angus steak and you get the smallest scoop ever. Pretty depressing and a waste of money. Don't recommend premium items here for that reason. The flavor is still on point. Edit: just ate the steak, super dry and seems old. Would not recommend.

Since its opening, Yunnan Restaurant has become a staple in our rotation for good reason. The pro-tip that I almost want to gatekeep is to go for lunch because that's the only way to guarantee that all of the best cold dishes are still in stock. My family's go-to is the vinegar potato strings, bamboo shoots, and sliced mushrooms, but we've recently also gotten into getting a side order of the peanuts with anchovies. The peanuts have a great sweet and salty roasted flavor and would pair perfectly with some rice. I could honestly be happy just ordered a big plate of the vegetarian cold dishes with rice, but it would be criminal to not order some of the noodles. The Sichuan style cold noodle is my absolute favorite item on the menu. It is vinegary, spicy, a little bit sweet, and super refreshing! The noodle texture is nice and bouncy, and the sliced carrots and scallions and blanched bean curds add a great crunchy texture. Despite being meatless, this noodle dish is absolutely satisfying and delicious! Most of the praises I sing are about this cold noodle dish, but their other items are also quite yummy. I enjoy the braised garlic seafood tofu dish, which pairs well with rice, and there are whole cloves of garlic that were braised with the seafood to be subtlety sweet and not at all pungent. Yunnan Restaurant really lives up to the hype!

We've been here twice now and some of our favorites are the shu mai, sticky rice, and the wings. Everything we've tried so far has been really good. On our most recent visit we also tried the fried tofu. The flavor was great and I ordered the less spicy version. The only small note is that the fried tofu was a little on the saltier side. If they eased up on the salt just a bit it would be perfect. The service has also been great both times we've come. The servers are always kind and attentive and they check in to see if we have any questions or need anything. I always appreciate restaurants that make you feel taken care of. After looking at menus and comparing we decided on Peking. Sure glad we did too! I have to say if you are ever in Ventura please give this place a try! First thing I noticed is this place is simple yet has a quality about it. I would bring a date here, rather maybe a second or third date. It's nice inside. Wait staff was amazing. Now to the good stuff! I ordered chicken chow fun and partner had Mushu pork and for the appetizer we ordered the paper wrapped chicken. The chicken hit the table first wrapped in tin foil. That didn't deter us at all. This was served with duck sauce and spicy mustard. The mustard was amazing but i love spice! Both were good but the mustard opened up my nasal passages and made me go wow!! Awesome! The two main dishes hit the table and we dug in. Both were great! Let me tell you how hard it is to find a good Chinese place that isn't swimming in soy and oil! This place seasoned correctly and was not greasy at all!! I will tell you this; if you like fast Chinese food like Panda Express and that is what you think of Chinese food then stay there. Here you'll get properly seasoned fair. Over all I recommend and when back in Ventura will visit again for sure! The pictures don't do this place justice.

Now for the quality of the food... each dish was great. The chow mein, which included chicken and shrimp, was awesome. Seasoned nicely and not too greasy. The orange chicken, which looked and tasted a bit more like sweet and sour chicken (not mad about that!), was also very good and retained its crispiness. That would be nice if they had some ginger slices and black vinegar for the dumplings. About boba tea, it's good. I prefer the tea to be stronger. Boba tea was warm, which means it's fresh, but needed more ice. They always serve in to-go containers. This place is good for friends, couples, and families. Parking is in front of the restaurant.

I like the house special braised pork belly which is a caramelized and salty meat in a pot. Delicious with copious amounts of white rice. The intestines taste like they were deep fried and have a crunch to them. -Mushroom medley - 3 different types of mushrooms in a brown sauce and some type of white meat. -Beef rolls - sliced beef inside a flaky savory pancake with hoisin sauce and cilantro This is a great spot for Hunan-style dishes that have the complex smoky, spicy, and numbing spice flavors.
