Not bad for fast food Philly Cheesesteak joint along hwy 5. We passed by here as it was close to the Tesla Supercharger stalls. We wanted something quick to eat before hitting the road. This was next to Jamba Juice, Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin Robins in the same store. Plenty of seats. Lady took our order, not the most smiley friendliest cashier but all business, got our order down. Food came out somewhat fast. Ordered a large Philly Cheesesteak and had them cut in half. It had a lot of meat and cheese. Tasted good to me. Ordered potato wedges with real bacon bits and cheese. Heading home from SoCal I needed a quick bite so I stopped off at Charley's. I ordered one of their specials, the $7.99 small chicken sub and fries. I went for the buffalo sub. The girls working the register and grill were friendly and efficient. The food came out pretty quickly and was fresh when it was served. As for the place itself, three different businesses occupy the building. It's kind of a cold, cafeteria feel. But for the most part tables and chairs were kept cleared and clean. Everything was fine, nothing to write home about, though. read more

Last year, I visited this place on my way home from a college tour with other students from my school. We stopped at a rest area intending to quickly grab some food, as it was late at night and we still had a long way to go. A friend and I chose this restaurant, thinking it would be quick, but we were very wrong. We ended up waiting an hour for our food, along with several other customers, and we all placed pretty small orders (six-piece wings, mozzarella sticks, and four-piece wings). This delay made our entire bus of students late. When we finally received our food and hurried back to the bus, my friend and I discovered that our chicken was still raw, so we had nothing to eat. Pretty decent! It was a quiet Monday evening so got my order taken promptly. The chicken cheesesteak sandwich was good and came out piping hot with a lightly grilled hoagie bun. I opted for no mayo and no tomato so got with the grilled onions and green peppers, lettuce and pickles. It was nice they served it open face so the lettuce stayed crisp and off to the side until I was ready to eat it. I would have preferred not so soft of a bun but it made it easier to eat. The food here is great, I was coming back from a long trip last night and was starving, I have never seen a Charley's before so I thought why not give it a try! When I walked in I thought it was closed because of how empty the lobby was, but a kind gentleman came out from the back and apologized for the wait, he probably thought I was waiting a while even though I had just gotten here. He was very nice and after I mentioned this was my first time at a Charley's he helped me pick out my order, once they took my order I assumed it would take around 15 minutes but I was impressed when it came out 5 minutes later, the sandwich was crisp and looked delicious, my fries came out very nice and crisp aswell although they could use a little more salt but still tasty nonetheless! I don't understand why this place has a low rating, from my experience this place doesn't deserve the rating it currently has, it definitely deserves better! I also would recommend the strawberry watermelon lemonade it is really good! read more
