Very slow service. This place should be shut down !!!! Waited over 25 mins for some chicken and noodles. What a joke

This is a super busy Panda Express! It can be difficult to find close parking and a place to sit and eat because this restaurant is so busy. It is the last stop before going south on I-5 over the Grapevine or the first stop going north on I-5 after the Grapevine. The line here to order is generally very long, but the staff seems to have it down and the line goes fairly quickly. They have indoor seating, but with all the people in line, it can get quite packed full of people, so people who are more afraid of COVID may opt for their outdoor seating which they have a few tables/chairs just outside the restaurant. Prices aren't too much higher than a Panda Express not in a travel stop town. The best deal for a family of 4-5 is the Family Meal for $32 (3 large entrees, 2 large sides). Remember to ask for paper plates which they provide. The food here is decent, but I find it not as flavorful as at other Panda Expresses, maybe because they are in such a hurry that there is no quality control, just keep pumping out the food! They do pay their employees well and they are hiring ($18/hr to $28/hr). The mens bathroom is decently clean, but could be cleaner. The men's bathroom has automatic faucets and air hand dryers which I'm sure is also in the women's bathroom. After eating you can do some shopping at Tejon Outlets down the road to walk off your meal before hopping on I-5 again. read more

Sometimes I think people expect these places to have the same serving size as their local wok place, but that is obviously not what this is and I think that's fine. Overhead menu says they have Cole Zero Sugar, go to machine and it doesn't. I asked for a refund and they said they don't give refunds. I ask to speak to the manager, then they give me $2 cash (paid with card, which was a chore in itself, tried chip, wouldn't read, says to slide card, then it says need to insert chip. Took 8 tries). I must put out a disclaimer that when I rate every restaurant, I rate it according to the type of restaurant that it is. That being said, this panda was solid. The staff was very generous with their portions, and even after ordering something that was out, the kitchen quickly prepared it and it came out piping hot! Now the orange chicken wasn't the best panda orange chicken I've ever had. Some of the chicken chunks were mostly breading, and I was hoping for some more crunch. Generally Panda Express is the same except for the customer service. At this location, THEY BUST THEIR BUTTS. Quick with customer service and cooking. I am impressed how they work with the rush of customers. Probably this is why I always come here for lunch and dinner when I pass the Grape Vine. Why did you ask me if I wanted sauce, then not give it to me when I said yes? Tejon Ranch is a nightmare on weekends! ALL of the restaurants and gas stations are packed and under staffed. I feel bad for the employees, they are under paid and over worked. Sunday is crazy bad. If your driving by and you need food or gas. Do yourself a favor and drive to a smaller location. The food was hot and fresh it had to be, the cooks could barely keep up with demand. Portions were very small. Placed an online order at 1:27, said it would be ready at 1:43 got there at 1:50 still not ready until 2:06 with multiple employees standing around. When I finally did get my order I noticed an item was wrong and asked him if it was the black pepper chicken and he said oh we ran out. As far as Panda Expresses go, this is probably one of the best ones I've been to! I came in at 9pm on a Wednesday night. Orange chicken was crispy, which means it's fresh. Their fried rice is also great - lots of veggies and egg. Other locations have 99% rice and no veggies/egg. Will definitely be returning next time I drive up the I-5! read more

The girl attending us didn't even know what drinks she put into our cups in the drive thru, and she waited last minute to tell us what WASNT available after we had already ordered. BEWARE SHADY EMPLOYEES!!!!! At 6:33 this evening we went thru the panda drive through. Once we got to the window we used a gift card that had $200 on it our order total was 20.81 meaning the gift card we used should have a balance of 179.19 dollars. We were given our food and when we asked for our gift card back the women at the window cut us off and asked if we wanted sauce we said no we want the gift card back she proceeded to tell us that they have to keep it and then closed the window. We also looked at the receipt to make sure we did use the $200 gift card which we did! The receipt had the remaining balance on it! DD wanted PE before contonuing on our journey home to the Bay Area. It's not my most favorite location as there is always greasiness all over the windows and doors upon entry. But I do remember their restrooms were spacious and clean. So, we agreed. Although there were staff wiping down tables and sweeping to the floors for food scraps, nothing about the greasiness has changed. The doors has windows were clouded by finger prints and grease. The line wasn't bad at all, probably because it's a Tuesday. Restrooms were clean. The food looked fresh and plenty of variety. We were promptly served and the staff were very efficient in getting food down the line. Chow mein was lacking flavor. Both Hubs and I ordered the Steak and Shrimp. I literally counted 4 pieces or shrimp. It was a little fishy. My rice was bland. Broccoli and beef from DD's kids meal was pretty tasty. The parking lot looks like it could use a good hose down. Half brown rice/ half chow mein with bejin beef and orange chicken I have to say quality of food is pretty bad, my fried rice looked like brown rice and was missing many of the ingredients, the half chow mein wasn't really half and it's definitely NOT Chow mein, looks like cup of noodle noodles cut super small. The Bejin beef was gross, I bit into fat instead of beef! The orange chicken was super dry! Judging from all the reviews they don't seem to care to make any changes or maybe they don't even read the reviews! I don't know what happened to Panda Express and it's quality of food but it's definetly not what it used to be! Maybe it needs to be reported to health department or something. After watching roaches running around in the parking lot, we went inside. Standing in line, I just watched one of the chefs use a scrubber on a long pole to clean the back of the cooking area, and he uses the woks they cook with as his hot water and soap bath to scrub the area. He then proceeded to put the scrubber on the floor. So... They use floor and wall scrubbers to clean the kitchen and use the cooking woks as buckets for the cleaning solution and hot water. Food was fresh and hot. Fast and friendly staff, great spot for a quick food stop. We didn't use their drive through, but pretty cool they had one. We were in and out quickly and back on the road. We didnt eat in so I couldn't tell you in detail how it was, but with a quick glance it looked pretty well maintained. The chow mein was coming out as we were ordering so that was nice. I always taste the orange chicken before I get it, due to some places make it spicier then others. It was a good medium, we did 2 bowls with chow mein and orange chicken. My hubby tried the pepper chicken and said it was good. It is located in a crazy gas and go type of little nieghborhood, had to look hard to find it and not make the wring turn. But it wasnt to busy and fairly empty, it's across from the outlets of Tejon. A good area to find anything you need. read more

Ordered in the drive thru, no cars ahead of me. They couldn't remember my order long enough to fill it! At the pickup window they had to ask me again what I ordered. It was simple: a two item plate, no drink, just two items. They still got it wrong! But its a drive thru. By the time you open your sack you are down the highway and its too late to complain. When we pulled up to the window the lady said they only had 4 shrimp pieces, she offered to give a different entree, but I'm pescatarian so I had asked what seafood sides they had and she had stated they had a steak and shrimp combo, so we said that's fine just give us the shrimp from that, then she said she couldn't only give the shrimp. So I asked if she could just discount and she stated it would be less than a dollar, only a few cents. Then I asked how long it would take for the honest walnut shrimp to be done and she stated another 10 minutes. Why even have hours listed in the website if you're not applying them? Panda Express websites states it closes at 11pm. Fine, Covid has changed hours, I get it but hours listed outside of the facilities show closed by 10pm. We arrive 7 min before "closing time" and the location is already locked, to top it off the car in front of us in the drive thru was turned around, same as us, after waiting same amount just because clock hit 10pm. It's not acceptable after waiting in line. Neither should your premises be closed before the closing time. My husband also got an order from Chipotle at around 9:45pm and when we went by people were still allowed in to order until the very last minute. These customer service experiences are very disappointing, specially if you're on a road trip and are expecting a meal before continuing. read more

This place was packed on a Thursday night. Just off the i5 near the Tejon outlets. Staff were polite and personable. Soo busy cooking, packing containers and ringing up which left them unable to keep up with emptying the begining to overflow trash receptacles. Do appreciate the large ladies room stalls (normally only the disabled stalls are large) and wish management will consider installing sturdier toilet seats rather than the plastic ones. If you told me a few weeks ago that I'd have Panda Express to thank for saving my life, I probably would've scoffed at you. Then again, when has this international chain NOT been there for me? Let me provide some more context. A few days ago, my girlfriend and I were making the drive down to Orange County from the South Bay Area. This was nothing really out of the ordinary - except for the fact that I had this brilliant idea of trying to eat at a place not named In-N-Out Burger. Well, that didn't go as planned. The first restaurant we drove to - Tita's Pupuseria - closed RIGHT WHEN WE GOT THERE (even though hours said otherwise). It was already 915pm, and with my girlfriend already losing her appetite + me scrambling to find an alternative, we were about to freak out. Luckily for us though, our saving grace was only 30 miles away: Panda Express (in Lebec)! We quickly sped there like an antelope escaping a cheetah, and we were able to make it right before the Panda Express closed. So how did this last-minute, late-night excursion turn out? SURPRISINGLY GOOD! --EXCELLENT VARIETY OF CHOICES-- Even though we came right when they were winding down/about to close up shop, there were still lots of options to choose from. For example, there were plenty of noodles, and the glistening Eggplant Tofu was begging to be picked up. Even better yet, the cook was still making food - despite it being almost 10pm at night! For example, seeing as we and the other customer next to us wanted Orange Chicken, they made us another batch! This was totally unexpected and very appreciated considering the fact that most places at this hour just gave you what's left! --DAMN DELICIOUS FOOD-- We ended up getting a 3-item plate (woah!) with Eggplant Tofu, Orange Chicken of course, and their Beef with Broccoli. Now I know this food ain't authentic (trust me, I hate bastardized, western versions of Chinese dishes), but gosh darn it I will defend Panda Express to my grave. Maybe it was because we were so hungry, but we loved our meal! First off, every item was fresh. The tofu was delicious, the beef was tender, and OMG THE CHICKEN SO CRISPY. I don't think I've personally ever had Orange Chicken that was this crunchy before. Second of all, portion size was HUGE. For ~$10, we had more than enough for 2 people. --SPACIOUS, CLEAN ATMOSPHERE-- When I think of "restaurants" along the Interstate-5, I imagine dirty and crowded places. Not here - this Panda Express was so clean and spacious! It was actually quite pleasant to be able to sit in a quiet setting while enjoying our much needed meal. --PRIME LOCATION-- Keep the I-5 in your head. How often have you had to settle for crummy fast food when driving up/down California? Probably more Taco Bells and McDonalds than you can count huh? Well the amazing thing about this Panda Express is that it's located in the HOTSPOT of dining/shopping while in the middle of nowhere. For example, around this restaurant there's also a Chipotle and even an Iron Skillet. Plus, Lebec is only 15 minutes away from The Outlets at Tejon! For refueling our stomachs with good quality food, to keeping it nice and clean, I have to give this Panda Express an "Omg, I'd travel 2 hours for this" rating. Lebec gets pretty packed during holiday season with people driving up and down Nor cal. It is a suitable place to stop before you hit the LA mountains (coming from the north) if you weren't hungry when you passed Kettleman (I default to in-n-out. Always.) This Panda express is quite busy when it's peak eating time. They keep on piling on the items so they never run out of your favorites. Don't expect to get the items piled on, as this is Panda, not your local ghetto Chinese joint. Ingredients are as fresh as fast food can get and everything is streamlined to perfection.
