Wow we went here on a Friday at 6pm and the place was super busy. You could tell all the staff (3 of them) was all on the same page. Absolutely excellent service and all the food out was very fresh. Like imagine when your about to order and the thing you want gets replenished and it's super hot, juicy and fresh. That was the feeling we had but it was for everything. We go to Panda Express often. It fits the bill when you're on the go, hungry and have kids in tow. This particular location is slow and not very clean :(. But, it's near our school events, so we frequent it more than we'd like. Please clean the bathrooms and the front door and please wipe the tables! Maybe hire some Asians?! Speed up the service and be a little more generous with your portions, like the other Panda Express restaurants. Many sources advertise that Panda Express gives Military and Senior discounts. That's BS. Around 5 pm Sept 30, I visited the store located at 8929 Madison Ave, Fair Oaks, CA, and asked about the military discount as I was checking out, showed the clerk my Veteran's ID card. He looked at me as if he were in shock, and said he had never heard of it. So I asked about the Senior Discount. Same response, never heard of it. If they offer a discount, and cannot properly train their employees, why are they allowed to benefit with false advertising? They are obviously not appreciative of veterans or senior patrons. I ordered a family feast, but I didnt want nuts in my Kung Pao because I'm allergic, but I really like the taste of Kung Pao... They said, "yeah we can do that", and I kept clarifying, "I want the kung Pao with no nuts"... they were making a new batch of Kung Pao and I assumed they were making a batch with no nuts... but when I received the food, the Kung Pao had nuts in it. This location is ridiculous. They always forget to put the sauces that you ask for in the bag almost every time and this time there was absolutely no filling inside one of the crab Rangoon's I got. Also, I half of the green beans in my green bean chicken were soggy and discolored and you could tell it was from an older batch. They were super gross. Today I visited this location. Purchased a 2 item plate. After I paid I was able to locate my free entree coupon from the prior day in my email. I asked Erin the manager for the free entree and she refused. said I would have to buy another 2 item plate. I literally just paid for my plate. She refused to honor the coupon. Clearly fails in how to provide good customer service. As I left she told customers that it's on the receipt that I had to buy at the same time. I never left the restaurant. This took place within 5 minutes of paying and she couldnt honor this? Hey Erin, may want to get more training. Theres NO place on the receipt that states this. You don't treat customers like that in front of others, and you had an attitude not me. you could have clearly provided the FREE small little box of an entree. 2nd time the food here didn't go over very well visually or taste wise...same dish, the green beans and chicken!it's obvious half of it was made before lunch, which was covered by the other half that was made much later. When I purchase food, the thing I look for most is consistency, and unfortunately here in California, not many places pass that test. Conveniently located in the Safeway and Peet's Coffee parking lot, I come here if I need a quick meal. Yeah, it's a chain. Yeah, it's not authentic Chinese food. However, I haven't had a bad plate of three entrees with chow mein yet! I also fill out their survey on the receipt and come back for my free entree when you get a two-entree plate. I haven't gotten their food to go, so I can't comment on there being not enough food in the takeout container like Betty stated. This panda express is light years above the one in Citrus Heights. First of all it's clean, secondly, if you go in later in the evenings, they are making smaller quantities of the entrées, which means you don't have these giant bowls of food sitting out for three hours getting old. There was absolutely no line either time I went there, the food was freshly made, and it was good! I have absolutely no complaint about this place. This is Chinese fast food. It seems typical and the same as all Panda Express places I been to. It's pretty safe and the food is made for the palette of people who cant handle REAL Chinese food. This isnt a bad thing. I think it's great. I wasnt in the mood for fast food like burgers, KFC or tacos/burritos. I wanted rice. If you're Asian, sometimes you need that FIX for rice to feel better. I needed it. The customer service is very typical like all Panda Express locations. They stand behind the counter and serve you filling up your plate. They were nice people. Came here to get dinner with my sister before going to see our mom in the hospital. Order our food and were charged 3 separate charges for $30 $4.74 and $5 for our $33.74 order. They then refused to give us a receipt, said that we didn't pay for it despite my showing my bank account and the charges, and refused to give us our food. We had to call an officer out for an incident number so that we could deal with my bank's fraud department. I lost an hour of my time dealing with this and will have to go get dinner elsewhere. When I ordered chow mein, orange chicken and Kung pao chicken (a plate) then I ordered an extra enteee (using the coupon) . It was almost impossible to use. The manager Jackie said she had never seen this and looked at it like it was not real. It became a battle to even use the coupon. It became an argument. This location needs to get its act together. The food is consistently sub par (by Panda standards) and cold. I went a few days ago and ordered orange chicken and Shanghai angus steak. The orange chicken tasted different (bland) and the steak was so rubbery I couldn't eat it. Since that's a premium item I expect to be able to actually eat it. No where on the receipt did it state that there will be a extra 1.25$ charge for premium items Or did it state that premium item is excluded. I ask them about the charge and said isn't it free? I usually have my Chinese food from a restaurant that makes it right then and there but decided to give this "fast food" joint a shot. Blah! I asked for a few things in containers thinking that like the regular places, they'd pack it in... Nope! Beef and broccoli, 3 pieces of beef and10 pieces of broccoli. I always love Panda express primarily for their orange chicken. It is perfection. Perfectly sweet and crispy. It really is the main reason that I keep coming back. I do also enjoy their string bean chicken as well, but I do not think either of these dishes re heat very well.
