The chow mein was tasteless, but quite filling with the Kung Po Chicken on top of the bowl. I also purchased a chicken eggroll. It looked so good in the case. However, it tasted very bad. It was so bad I had to spit my bite it into my napkin. I asked Karina for a refund of the eggroll, she said that the manager would not be in to tomorrow. I explained that we didn't live near this location and required a refund just for the eggroll. Karina talked to Angie. Angie taught herself how to refund a order. Neither employee was trained in customer service! Truly unacceptable! While this was occurring, Karina handed me a coupon to use later, as I understood it, for a small orange chicken, or small drink (2 spring rolls or beef & broccoli). After Angie refunded the entire order, as she was not trained to just do a partial refund, and I was getting ready to rebuy the 2 bowls of food minus the eggroll, Karina started saying that the "coupon" was supposed to take care of the eggroll cost. She told me to give the coupon back. I wish she had taken the time to ask me or explain what her intentions were regarding the little coupon. I refused to relinquish the tiny coupon. Karina stopped Angie from recharging my credit card for the items that were eaten. Karina clearly had no understanding of customer protectol, or accounting. Why was she running a register? I tried to explain that since I had received the full refund, it was important to me to pay for the two lunches, which I did. This was not a difficult service issue that was handled incorrectly. I will refrain from eating at Panda until their employees are trained to handle situations when their managers are unavailable. read more

When I used to work in the area, I'd sometimes order for pick up from here and I always enjoyed my meals! The food was very good and warm when I'd get it and I was never disappointed with my orders. One time, they ran out of an item that I wanted and were nice enough to call me and ask what I'd like to substitute the item with. They could have gone and given me something else, but they were nice enough to let me know and ask me what I wanted instead. I wanted to order food online, but that service has been disabled on their website. I drove there to order and they had no rice and were missing many of the entrees. It wasn't that they just had to cook more rice - they literally were out of rice. I ordered a bowl and it was half-filled and I stood at the cash register while the employees talked and laughed, ignoring their customers. Actually writing this review as I'm waiting for my food. I originally asked for brown rice and was told that they were all out. I asked a simple question of "why". The response made no sense. Please watch out! Besides the fact i ordered at 6:08 and didn't leave until 7:23 and was yelled at my multiple employees and treated terrible the more important thing they are containing everything! I watched one girl wear gloves, take an order, touch the cash, go make the food, bag it up, bring it out, take out her cell phone, touch her face and then start the next order with the same gloves!!! I've been to other Panda Expresses and I've never had an experience like this. My friend and I went slightly after the lunch hour and there was only one person working the "line" and I had to wait behind two people for an oddly long amount of time. The ability to order anything was sparse because everything was almost empty in the bowls or like the "beef and broccoli" only beat up shiny pieces of broccoli and minuscule bits of beef sprinkled. I ended up picking the orange chicken and it tasted and smelled SO much of vinegar that it burnt my nose. It was inedible. I attempted to return it and the woman made me smell it, got the cook, had me try another piece from the main bowl and even had another patron try it and weigh in! This was so unprofessional! I will only eat skinless chicken breast, and even though there were only two choices on the large wall mounted menu, the person helping me (I think it may have been his first day) pointed out that there was also Sweet and Sour Chicken Breast. I was grateful, because the other choice that I was going to get, something with green beans, didn't sound nearly as good. I did like the Sweet and Sour Chicken Breast quite a lot, and it went well with the Sweetfire Chicken Breast. I went on a Friday night and didn't have to wait more than a minute or two. read more

Panda Express started out a great concept for a quick Asian bite. But, the food has progressively gone downhill, with the last time making me sick. The staff is less than knowledgeable and the food is generally dry, tasteless, bland, over cooked, and the menu is limited. The sides are rice, aka dried out rice....totally tasteless noodles.....or huge chunks of Veggies...no sauce, no taste and you need a knife and fork to cut it up...it's not even bit size. I have tried most of the items and I would suggest not paying extra for the black angus steak as it is filled with grizzle and the shrimp reeks of 3 day old fish. They need a complete make over and management skills, cooking techniques, and a general clean up...go elsewhere for Asian or try take out at any nearby Asian restaurant read more

Jose specifically is very bad at attending to the customers in line, I dont know why the manager has 1 person serving the customers with a long line. It's ridiculous. I don't normally eat out, but when I do I love going to this location because of the amazing customer service. I love seeing their happy faces especially Abby, Jorge, and Wendy. They're always so eager to help, the food is exquisite there are no words to explain how rich and beautiful this tase is. I want to start off this review by saying that I truly enjoy Panda Express. If I was just rating the food, I would give Panda 4 1/2 stars. However, I am writing this review specifically on the Crystal Lake location. My mother and I went shopping at Kohl's tonight, and decided to pick up food. We went in to Panda Express at around 8:40 pm to get food. When we walked up to the counter, all the food was put away except for the ends of maybe 3 or 4 entrees. We walked up and said, "Oh, it doesn't look like there is much left." Instead of offering us anything the guy behind the counter said, "Well, yeah we close in 15 mins or so." Now listen, I understand the frustration of someone walking in last minute. I have worked retail before, and it is definitely frustrating when someone walks in right when you are closing. HOWEVER, they were not just closing! There was still 20 minutes left for crying out loud. I am not the type of person to cause a stir, so my mother and I just left. There was no apology, no nothing as we walked out. Just silence, followed by some repressed snickering as we walked out the door. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this particular Panda Express. I would rather drive to the one on Randall Road then deal with these rude, inconsiderate employees again. read more

So I tried to order the family special on my phone and it kept booting my order back to me. I went into the store entry way ( COvid set-up) and was told they would not honor the family special it had to be done online. I returned to my car and tried again for 25 minutes, no luck. I went back in and asked if I could just please order the special and was told no. I went home and tried on the home computer, no luck again. I really wanted to go somewhere else, however, my 88 year old dad who has not left the house since March wanted honey walnut shrimp, so I returned again, asked about the special and was told no again. Yes, this time I did order my dad his shrimp, however, I think this is really poor business practice when you know someone is diligently trying to place an order and you cannot doing anything to help. I mean I was there three different times in an hour. There are a lot of other Asian restaurants in Crystal Lake, and I am sure they would appreciate my business.
