I've been waiting for my food for nearly 18 minutes when they said it would only take seven minutes. I still don't have it. The service is very very slow. I didn't go inside so I'm not sure about the ambience. I'm gonna have to say that while I normally like the food waiting this long for food is not really the experience I was looking for. This is the second time I've ate here with my wife on our way back from Nashville. The service is always top notch, the restaurant is always clean and welcoming, and the food is good for the most part. The rice is dry, but that seems to be consistent at all Panda locations. This restaurant needs help. Any establishment is only as good as the people that work there. If they don't care IT WILL be reflected in the food. I waited at the drive thru speaker for about 7-8 minutes. Only one car in front and they were at the window the whole time. The girl apologized for taking so long and that was nice but had I known the food was going to be like it was I wouldn't have waited at the speaker and then wait at the takeout window for another 5 minutes. Maybe it was because it was 8:00 and it was going to be closing in a hour 1/2. I ate here a few months ago and it was very good but tonight was really bad. I hope they hire people that care about their job soon. read more

The food was overcooked and dried out. The chicken was so dry it was like chewing on cardboard with sauce on it. The rice was old and dried out. The service was okay. Typical of fast food service. Ordered online for delivery. Delivery took twice as long as promised--driver had to wait for order, not his fault. Then order was missing one of my two entrees. And the shrimp/walnut premium dish I ordered had NO walnuts. I called about the missing entree and they said I had to go pick up the missing entree if I wanted it. They are maybe a half mile away and should have offered to deliver the missing entree since it was their mistake. I like Panda Express, but this one has incompetent and unfriendly management. This is a new location that opened recently just off the interstate in Athens. It's in a great area and has a spacious parking lot and a well-designed drive thru. We ordered SweetFire Chicken and Grilled Teriyaki Chicken bowls, both with fried rice. Our meals were fresh, warm, and delicious. The cashier seemed a bit confused at checkout though, as we had ordered "bowls" (one entrée and one side), but she thought we had ordered "plates" (two entrée and one side). She also forget to include teriyaki sauce in the bag. Ordering "Grilled Teriyaki Chicken" and not receiving the Teriyaki sauce was a definite let down, but I was glad to see that they remembered to include soy sauce, which many other Panda Expresses in the area seem to often forget. Hopefully they are still just working out the kinks being relatively new. Overall, we enjoyed the experience and are glad to have a new convenient location- we'll be back! read more

Panda Express in Athens, AL upholds the same great level of customer service as other Panda Express locations. The place is clean and the food quality is high. Sometimes the drive through gets backed up, so I typically go into the dining room for quicker service (since most people are in the drive through). Athens has a lot of choices, but Panda is at the top of my list! read more

I've been to some great pandas, some okay pandas, and some outright atrocities masquerading as pandas, and this one definitely ranks on the better end of the scale. 8.8/10, would come back. read more

Food is always poorly cooked. I love Panda Express but this location is very disappointing. The rice is always undercooked, literally every time, and portions are either hit or miss, there's been times when it seems like they have given me food that has been left out for a while being that it is half cold. I used to eat at Panda Express in Huntsville all the time. The food and service was consistently good! I was so happy when we got a Panda in Athens! I have been to this Panda about 10-12 times since they opened and every time the rice is not cooked all the way! Every.Time. I keep going back hoping the problem is fixed, but I ordered it for dinner tonight, and again crunchy rice! I have no other complaints about this restaurant or their food. I loved it! The Teriyaki and Chow mien is absolutely scrum-dilly-ump-sious! The cooks are super friendly, every time I go in this girl in the back smiles at me. Her name tag says her name is Jaeden. They have excellent customer service skills! Always a pleasant experience there. I usually go Saturdays at lunch, I love the group on shift then, they seem to work really well together! I would most definitely recommend going there! After going so long Saturday's became a routine I mean I miss some but the days I do go I NEVER regret going.
