Service has gotten better. The food has improved too. I enjoy trying the new special when they come out.

Used the app and ordered a few things online tonight. When we got there, they came out to tell us the ice cream machines were broken, so we couldn't get the sundae we paid in advance for. They offered to make something else but I said just take it off thinking they would refund us for it. They later came out with the rest of our stuff, but when we asked if we would get a refund for the sundae, we were told in a bland tone "we can't do anything about that. Please be kind to your customers. There is one way in and out when visiting this sonic. If you have a certain time that you all want to have drive thru only you need to put it in a sign so that your customers will be aware. It makes zero cents to sit in traffic waiting to turn into the parking lot ONLY to be told that it is drive in only. Now you have to get back on the hwy and try to get back in the parking lot. This is quite possibly the worst place to try to get food in the entire northern hemisphere. You'd have better luck at a Little Caesars dumpster. Girl in the window is TWEAKING. The entire place is nasty and run down. Staff are rude. Usually takes 20-30 minutes to get your food, and it's hardly ever right. Should just be bought out or closed down at this point. On our way from MS to IN, we stopped through the drive thru and it was the worst experience ever! Terrible workers with bad attitudes. Smushed cold bread. Burnt meat. Old, almost rotten lettuce and condiments!! Microwaved fries that were so overheated they stuck to the bottom in one giant chunk. How is this place still even open?? My daughter ordered us a Dr. Pepper thru the app. We arrived and she notified them which stall we were in. We sat for 45 minutes and still didn't have drinks. I got out of the car and spoke to a server. She went in and came back with two drinks and said,"we are short staffed!" Did an order online, when I got there I still had to wait 30 mins for my food. At the window the lady wouldn't even look at me to tell me why I was waiting so long. Then after 30 mins of sitting there she told me that they were out of Strawberries so I didn't get my strawberry cream slush, they were out of corn dogs so I had to get hot dogs. I ordered a MINI blast and they charged me for a MEDUIM, it's too hot and a waste of my HARD. EARNED money to pay for 4x the amount of ice cream than I wanted and let it melt & get ruined. I went to Sonic in Athens, AL today to get some food. I parked and pressed the red button to order my food and it didn't light up. I decided to download the app and put in my order. After waiting for 20 minutes on my food, the girl comes out to tell me they are out of everything I ordered and that I'd have to go online to get a refund. I was a bit angry that they waited 20 minutes to tell me this information when I only have 30 minutes to get my lunch. She said she'd get me some pretzel bites and a water. After waiting another 5 minutes for this, she comes out to say they are also out of pretzel bites and that the manager was going to refund my money. I waited for another 8 minutes for my refund before going to the door to ask what's going on and she says that he's already refunded me my money. First off, I visit the Sonic in another city 5 days a week. Always get the same things - 2 large milkshakes to split between my kids. For some reason, this sonic charges almost $7 for a shake that costs $5.25 at my sonic. Plus, no whipped cream, graham cracker topping or cherry. I'd like to start by saying I'm usually one to do good reviews and not bad ones but this is very important and should be attended to immediately. I ordered a drink and some food and went to the window. Immediately there was no pleasantries exchanged just the total very abrupt, then I politely told them that the drink wasn't correct. They asked for it BACK (THROUGH THE WINDOW. I said " You're going to take it back through the window?!", working for fast food restaurants in the past, I was very surprised and disturbed to say the lease. What a health code violation.
