This Exxon gas station is very convenient to Interstate 65. The gas prices are competitive and the inside has the usual convenience store items. The gas station is clean, the staff is friendly and it is a great place for both locals and travelers heading down (or up) Interstate 65. I wouod definitely recommend here. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. My family and I were traveling from Florida and stopped for a quick bathroom break. The clerk was completely rude. As we were leaving the store, he said " Are you buying fuel ?" When I told him no , he went off ! He said "can you not read the sign.... bathrooms for paying customers only." He was shouting and frightened my daughter. As we left the store he continued yelling. I have never been treated so rudely in a public place. Note : Not so sure why he was so worried about people using his restroom or messing it up .... It was nasty , no soap, no paper towels, and had a 1980s model hand dryer that was broke down ! I appreciate a clean restroom and customer service and this place does not have either ! Please beware! read more

I have only been in Alabama once, barely. My then-girlfriend at the time and I were roadtripping from San Francisco to Miami. The further southeast we got, the less comfortable it was to get out of the car. Neither of us looked like we were from "around here," if you know what I'm saying. I had short bleached hair and various piercings (it was 1998) and looked like a weirdo white chick with Jewishness oozing out my pores, and my girlfriend had spiky black hair, looking like the brown butch dyke with a big rack that she was. Stopping for gas in Alabama was actually the worst. All white people, all their heads turned when we walked in the door, their conversations all stopped mid-sentence. The stares followed us into the women's bathroom, where we peed in silence, afraid to talk. I grabbed two cold drinks and waited to pay at the register while she went out to fill the tank. There were a couple of trucks with gun racks and Confederate flag stickers on them. I was nervous for her. But then someone right behind me started up a chat, just an everyday kind of "wow it's hot out" kind of deal. Actually he asked me if I had ever eaten lamb meat -- I was so startled by the kindness and the randomness that I stuttered out "no," even though I definitely had -- and he went on to explain that he was a long haul trucker driving shipments of lamb, which, he mentioned, was delicious when it was tender. My girlfriend came back in, and he gracefully included her in the conversation until it was our turn to pay and say goodbye. I'm telling this story because, as I have learned over and over, it is important to have people wherever you go. Even if it's just one person who can make you feel included, or at least make you feel like another regular person buying gas and cold drinks on your way somewhere. So yeah, I've never been to this particular gas station (yet). However, this Exxon is run by family friends. Because of that, I have confidence that if you are a stranger driving through here, you'll be greeted with respect for your humanity. Maybe even an oddball question about your culinary preferences, if you're lucky. read more

I truly wish I could give zero stars. Absolutely mortifying experience. I stopped at this station as it was closest from the exit and I needed to make a bathroom stop. I left my teens in the car and came inside-- I'll say that it was very clean and well kept. The attendant said hello and carried on mopping his floors. He warned me to be careful on the floors as they were wet in the bathrooms still. I came out and proceeded to leave the gas station when the attendant said something. i turned around and asked what he had said-- and he asked if I was buying fuel. I didn't answer and he literally CHARGED AT ME!!! Screaming "I SAID ANSWER ME!!!!" when I tell you I RAN to my car and sped off... he stood outside the station recording my car/taking photos. 0 rating....stopped to get gas and while my co-traveler was preparing to get gas, I went in to use the facilities. Cones were in front of the bathroom doors and the attendant/clerk stood up from behind the counter so I asked if the bathrooms were functional. He asked if I was buying gas...I asked again if the bathrooms were functional...he asked if I was buying gas and I said, "EXCUSE ME?" He then said, with attitude, that, "Nothing in this country is free" and that I HAD to buy gas. I left the store immediately yelling to my friend to put the nozzle back in the pump...We went across the street and filled our tank. This man was not a southerner. We have a family of 8 driving home from Florida to Missouri. We stopped to get gas and use restrooms, but the attendant refused to let us use the restroom and was making a fuss about another family who had used the restrooms. I asked why he wasn't allowing anyone to use the restrooms and he said they are closed. I asked for what reason and he said they are a mess and I can't clean them with you people here. I asked for his name - he gave me Adam, but his shirt said Perry once I actually saw him. I took a picture of the sloppy handwritten signs saying the restrooms were closed and he told me to get the F*ck out. As we left he took pictures of our vehicle and wished us luck as he proceeded to tell another customer I was disgruntled. He was rude and completely unprofessional. Don't work with the public if you can't be decent. All of the customers he was turning away were there to buy gas. What a shame! Won't stop there again! read more

So I go in the store today to buy some cigarettes well my wife does Then they turned her down because her ID her license is a little bit and I'm talking about just slightly no broken and a half no cracks nothing they turn her away mind you she's 25 years old then I go in and they turned me away because they said that I'm buying cigarettes for my wife and I'm 31 years old I flipped the script I've.been coming to this place for years I never even been Id not once Because they know me and they know I'm not a minor but this woman insist that it's the law and I actually saw a cop and wave them down to talk to him about my ID he said as long as the ID is not broken in half and as long as you can see the face in the birthday you're fine but this woman insist is the law it did not sit well with me I got very upset and I want this looked into because my wife's job is right behind there and that's the only gas station she used to go to now she's thinking twice about it and yes I posted my IDs and no I'm not crazy and no I don't care I just want this fixed I want to talk to an owner because this is ridiculous read more

This is the gas station of my choice and I live it. When I gave to go inside it's always hassle free and I have always had great srevuce.
