We went for some good ans old chinese lunch on a sunday afternoon. This spot seems a little unpopular, can be a good thing for a subday since theres no waiting for tables. Seems like they have a all you can eat bufget during the week and some great prices for their lunch speciasl (which are not available on sundays) on sundays you will be only going to be getting full menu prices. I got a crab fried rice and it was pretty ok but keep in mind it calls for a little extra salt and the crab is actually kani not real crab, but the price was ok, also they only have fountain drinks, so forget about the soda cans when you come over. Overall i think that it was a ok lunch, the service was nothing special, the price was pretty ok even thought it was full price menu, so if you are looking for cheap eats, this is fine and you will get the ok quality meal you paid for.

Stop lying! Menu tricked me. I found the menu at the hotel lobby I was staying at. Never again will I come here when I'm at McGuire

I'm so ashamed! I'm embarrassed. Embarrassed that I came here. I should've known to leave when the place was empty (1pm on Friday afternoon for the buffet). I came here with 2 of my young boys. The total came to $23. Don't know how because when I asked all she showed me was 1 adult +2 kids total $23.40. The girl still didn't understand what I was asking. I just took it as a lost cause. I asked for a booster seat for my child, no one in the restaurant (out of 4 grown men and a woman prob in their late 20s /30s) did not understand what I was asking for!! Nevertheless, they didn't have any - only 2 high chairs. My son even mentioned at one point that no one was in there...he counted the people sitting at the tables (5 total; 3 of which were the grown men sitting by themselves at 3 separate tables eating their lunch...nothing that was offered from the buffet ha!) The food. Japanese-SAD. Nothing like what the ad says. There were a few sushi choices; California roll, a roll with seaweed+cucumber, salmon+avocado, and a couple more...nothing to rave about. Chinese-SAD. The "lo mien" is what my kids ate. It was pretty much empty. They never refilled anything. There were maybe 10 different variety of dishes. Seriously?? And, it has most likely been sitting there since..wait for it...last night!! Do yourself a favor, DO NOT EAT HERE! You've been warned!! Hell, even Taco Bell directly across the street is more appetizing! Go to Afghan Kabob next door, the food there is amazing and worth the few extra bucks! I had take out from there the other night. The chick pea is a must! If you do decide to eat here to try for yourself, lucky for you there's a Sam's liquor store right next to this establishment where you can drink your sorrows away..you're welcome! And, I told you so!!!

The delivery compared to dining in is way better to me. I didn't like the buffet selection. After reviewing the menu I decided to try them again. Ordered the hibachi shrimp with fried rice. Came with a salad. The wait was only 30 minutes. The best hibachi shrimp, vegetables, & rice I've had since I've been here in Jersey. Well worth the money.

Awesome service, delicious and fresh food and reasonable prices. I was pleasantly surprised with the food as it was fresh and made with care. I came on a Sunday but the service did not lack. I will definitely be back and would refer to friends.

Egg Rolls. The pork inside looked, felt, and tasted like kangaroo.

The sign outside read "Ichiban Japanese Cuisine" but this place is a Chinese restaurant. The meat in the pork egg roll was suspicious. It looked, felt, and tasted like kangaroo. Eat here at your peril.

The menu is pretty extensive, covering everything from Chinese to Japanese cuisine, and surprisingly, the sushi is actually quite fresh. I wasn't expecting that level of quality, but every time I've ordered sushi here, it's been solid -- fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared, especially for a place that serves such a wide range of dishes. Now, I'll be honest -- the atmosphere inside is definitely below average. It's not the kind of spot you go to for ambiance or a sit-down experience. But if you can look past the basic interior, the food more than makes up for it. It's reliable, tasty, and great for takeout or a quick bite when you want something good without going too far from base. If you're stationed nearby or just in the area and looking for a dependable place for Chinese or Japanese food -- especially fresh sushi at a good price -- Bamboo House is definitely worth checking out. Just don't judge the book by its cover!

Upon entering the restaurant, I was caught off guard seeing storage and a make shift open kitchen and a stair well to its right? Super odd set up and felt like I wasn't suppose to enter there. I did see seating further back and the service window which had my goodies bagged up so I had tunnel vision and didn't think too much into in... The kitchen staff was quiet and efficient, probably because they were closing in 10 minutes, my bad~ but thanked them and was grateful! I ordered 3 dishes in different variations. Spice levels given were Mild, Spicy, Thai Hot, and Extra Hot. Pad Thai Chicken and Pad See Ew/Drunken Noodle Tofu were Thai Hot and the other Pad See Ew/Drunken Noodle Chicken was Extra Hot. Other than them being a little bit on the watery side, it was pretty good! Keep in mind, I wasn't expecting much, but was really craving Thai Noodles of any kind. The veggies were crisp still, the good kind~ not soggy. All in all, it was a great experience. Food was done well, set up was a bit off putting, and it's definitely worth a try, which I will do again soon

She patiently walked us through the dining flow on our first visit, all with a warm smile and zero rush. She anticipated needs, made great suggestions, and made us feel genuinely welcome from start to finish. There was another person at the front who seemed disengaged and asleep, which made Macayla's professionalism stand out even more. The food was delicious, and the souvenir cups were a fun bonus -- hot or cold, they still hold up today! We'd happily return for the freshly made hand rolls and that Thai iced tea alone. Overall, a great experience thanks largely to outstanding service.

Kinda looks like gas station sushi in the plastic trays? This is how I was served while dining in at the sushi bar. Disappointing for sure.

We both had a kick for some sushi so we did a few google searches and found this place. I usually look at a sushi menu before I go to it because I have an avocado allergy so if a place has a avocado in more than half of their rolls I normally avoid going. This place checked off the boxes and had at least one maki and one specialty roll I could eat. This place is tucked away in a shopping center and has a hole-in-the-wall vibe but it is easily one of the best sushi places in the 10 mile radius. My friend and I split the edamame and the gyoza. The former was yummy I know it isn't hard to mess up but it had a nice salt ratio and the latter had a yummy filling and a tasty dipping sauce to pair. For my rolls I ordered a crab meat roll and a Sakura Roll. Both were delicious! Can't wait to visit my friend again and visit this spot!

I ordered General Tso chicken. It was good. Definitely enough for two or leftovers. I also had the spicy crab roll. They forgot to add the spicy sauce on top but it was still delicious. My wife had the tempura sweet potato roll and avocado roll with an avocado salad. I had fried rice and a small side salad with ginger dressing that came with it. I also had a green boba tea. Everything was really good. My only complaint is that the menu prices are less than your bill. About .50 to a dollar more per item to be exact.

The salmon was so buttery smooth, and the tuna was so meaty and flavorful, I ordered an extra helping as sashimi! IT IS THAT GOOD! The sushi is fresh and tasty, we enjoyed the seared scallop appetizer. My sushi (Tiger roll) was magnificent. The Yuzu lobster roll could have had a bit less rice in the roll but was otherwise very enjoyable. The combination of fish in this roll paired very nicely together. Taka has a vast menu with many options from appetizers to specialty sushi options. They provide alcoholic and non alcoholic mocktails for those of us not interested in consuming liquor.....the mocktails are fantastic. The only thing that made me rate 4 instead of 5 stars was the staff needs a bit of work on serving. We ordered an appetizer and were also given two additional small plates since we were sharing this item. When we were done with the appetizer our specialty sushi plates were bought out and the same server left the three empty plates from the appetizers on the table instead of removing them. Dessert was absolutely decadent and moist (I omitted the whipped cream since I don't like it) but the shortcake was perfect without it. I look forward to returning to Taka and trying more items on the menu.
