Pancake with waffles
Genevieve M.

"I absolutely loved the total 80s throwback vibe here! Michael Jackson and New Edition jamming in the background while I devoured some seriously delicious waffles. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, the restrooms were spotlessly clean, and the whole place smelled fresh like Fabulosa the moment you walk in. I'll definitely be coming back--can't wait for my next retro breakfast fix!" I give them 5 stars!

My daughter & I ate breakfast at Pancake Joe's, caught the before noon special and everything was great. The pancakes were the right size, the eggs were fresh, milk good, bacon cold and a little too hard, breakfast sausage was over cooked and my daughter exchanged the sausage for ham. Our waitress was cute, very manner able and a joy to serve our table. RECOMMEDATION: Overall I recommend Pancake Joe's for breakfast.

Food was fast, tasty, and overall a great experience. Less the a 15 minute wait to get in. A little noisy but still worth it.

Monte cristo breakfast

The boyfriend was craving an omelette so I ordered our breakfast online. It was ready pretty quickly, so I went to pick it up. Staff was very friendly. Got back home to eat. Was disappointed that they put a slice of cheese on top of the omelette instead of shredded cheese inside of it. Also, they put my fruit under my monte cristo instead of separate, so it was warm. The bananas and strawberries weren't fresh, didn't eat them. The food was good, with a few tweaks it could be better.

The service was fast and the servers were very friendly. The food was delicious. It is an old building so expect older tables and booths. We are totally ok with that. We were not fans of the coffee that is why it's 3 stars. We will come again.

Eggs Benedict

I got the eggs Benedict with sausage and hash browns as the side ($11). The eggs Benedict tasted a little off. I think it was either the English muffin or sausage that had a weird aftertaste. Similar to pacakaged/frozen food or just bad diner food. I added a lot of ketchup and hot sauce to make it more palatable. The hashbrown was yummy. The prices are reasonable for things. I tried some gravy and biscuits and those were pretty good! The pancakes look on the thin side. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing? The inside is clean. Service was fast!

One of those places where the food looks great for an instagram picture but tastes bland. Only took 2 bites out of my food. Ambiance is still the same since opening day, maybe remodel it to something less grey? Service was alright.

A great mom-and-pop breakfast/diner place to try
Rio R.

Finally!!! We were able to try Pancake Joe's, I was joking this place is the other half brother of Trader Joe's. Today I was able to find out what's buzzin' in here. From the outside, the place doesn't really look interesting at all but once you stepped inside, it looks like a regular neighborhood diner that we are used to go to back in NJ/NY. There's not a huge selection on the menu, that's a good thing though, so they can concentrate more on their specialties--pancakes, waffles and everything breakfast. So happy to know we are supporting a mom-and-pop local business, and it's interesting to note that they only have two (2) locations, hope they remain that way so they could be consistent with the quality of food and service. We arrived just at the perfect time around late 9ish in the morning, anytime after that would be crazy. We saw a lot of people waiting to be seated as in a lot when we were leaving. Anyway the whole wheat waffle with fruit I ordered was pretty good and my cousin's original French toast with extra order of sausage was also good. Nothing really extra ordinary but the food we had was prepared-well, doesn't look and taste like fast food at all. There's a lot more choices in the menu that look promising but we need to try it next time when we get another chance. The best part of our breakfast experience this morning is the service that we get from Lizzy. This young lady with a pretty face looked much more beautiful because of her exceptional customer service. She was thoughtful enough to ask if I want a sugar-free syrup...she really went the extra mile with that simple gesture being sensitive to dining customers. She was also prompt and made sure checked-up on us several times if we needed anything else. The quotations hanging close to the ceiling are funny and interesting, it helped create a relax ambiance amidst the busy dining area. The place is not that huge but though it looks old, they make sure they keep it clean as much as they can, we noticed that the lady manager was always on her toes to spot clutters on the floor and at the same time making sure she's coordinating her server for available seats. It was a pleasurable breakfast experience for us, not extraordinary but the food we had was prepared well and fast. Perhaps if we have friends or visitors from out-of-town or out-of-state, we'll bring them here. Just hope the management knows how great Lizzy's customer service is, she's exemplary and needs commendations. Hoping also that the rest of their service staff is like her.

Breakfast Special

We were a party of fourteen. Our waitress came to our table right away with menus and took our drink orders. She gave us an adequate time to peruse the menus then came and took our orders. Our food was delivered in a short amount of time. I ordered the Breakfast Special (two pancakes, two eggs and one slice of ham $6.48). Every one enjoyed their food and we will all go back. There were no charges on our tickets other than our meals and taxes. Great food, great service and great prices!

First time at this location. I've only been to the Ingram location. This location was a bit smaller. I was disappointed with the service. They were young girls and didn't have the customer service skills yet. Food didn't disappoint but will say the potatoes this time were too salty

Joe's is always pretty decent. Today was a tad better than that but at least it's consistently ok rather than super hit or miss. It's more like a first base hit with a double here and there...but never the homer. The service was generally and genuinely friendly, which is a huge plus. That is really why I left the 4/5 and not 3/5. The food though, certainly a 3/5. Overall good flavor but the potatoes were a little underdone. Still packed some flavor though. The eggs were done right (sunny side up) and the rye bread on the side looked and tasted phenomenal with the whipped butter and some jelly. The atmosphere was blah. Could certainly use a solid cleaning. Especially along the windows rails and under the tables. That for me takes a star away, immediately. I can't eat somewhere that I feel is dirty. Everyone doing there best but many just don't know how to clean well. Needs to be taught. Overall, again, pretty decent. Wifey liked her $5.99 house special of pancakes, eggs, and bacon. I guess that was pretty close to a home run there. Or is that Denny's? Whoops. Happy Eats!

Menu

Whenever I Reward myself with a carb day, I make sure to head down to pancake joes and hit up the pancakes and/or waffles. On this occasion however, it was a protein day, so I stuck with the Eggs Plus plate: scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, sausage patties and wheat toast. For such a young staff, the food/service are consistently good here and the prices reasonable for the portion sizes you get. For this visit, my scrambled eggs were light and fluffy, the hash Browns were crispy but not mushy, the sausage patties were cooked just right, and the toast was not burnt. There is usually a wait for a table on the weekends so plan accordingly. If you're in the area or don't want to make breakfast one weekend then come try Pancake Joe's. Be warned you will leave full.

Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing, which is why I'm giving 3 stars. I ordered the veal Schnitzel with mushroom gravy (Jägerschnitzel) and red cabbage. The gravy had a strange gelatin-like consistency and lacked the rich flavor you'd expect from a proper Jäger sauce. The veal was extremely chewy and honestly made me feel ill afterward. The red cabbage was also very undercooked and completely lacked flavor. Overall, I personally did not find the food authentic or representative of true German cooking. What truly saved this experience was the outstanding customer service. Our server, Joseph, was attentive, professional, and genuinely kind throughout the meal. I also greatly appreciated Mr. Adam, the kitchen manager, who personally came out to discuss my concerns. He handled the constructive criticism with professionalism and openness, and I truly respected the fact that he listened carefully and considered my feedback regarding the sauce. Although I wouldn't personally return for the food, Joseph and Mr. Adam turned what could have been a terrible experience into one where I still felt valued as a customer. Their professionalism absolutely deserves recognition.
