I will admit fully... I LOVE hats. I was absolutely thrilled to find this shop on a recent trip. They had such an amazing selection. The two older women who were working that day (I wish I'd gotten their names) we're so sweet and helpful. They showed me so many styles and options. I settled on a flat crowned hat with a wide brim and it looked amazing. They also have a small but incredible selection of the most colorful and flowy dresses ever. I, of course, had to grab one and it was so comfortable and perfect. The next time I'm down, I will definitely be back in for more.

This is an awesome place to buy greats hats at a REASONABLE PRICE. I saw the same hat I purchased for half the price. The owner is VERY Knowledgable and has apprenticed to learn how to make home made hats. He is AMAZING and will steam shape your hat to your specifications.

If you're looking for a hat, any kind of hat, Panama Hat Company is the place to go! I have frequented this amazing shop so many times through the years and have never, ever been disappointed! I rarely leave empty-handed. We visited while on vacation through the years and now that we live within an hour or so, I've had the pleasure to come even more often. The staff are extremely friendly and always available to answer questions (without being the "I'm lurking behind you and watching every move you make," type.) The selection is crazy! It runs the gamut from practical "I need sun protection" to "I'd love a Tom Petty top hat...I'm THAT cool." You'll find Stetson, Panama Jack, Kangol, Tilley, The Country Gentlemen and much, much more! You'll see wool hats, straw hats fedoras, Panama style, scoop style and yes, even Top Hats! The staff were all wearing masks and they were required for patrons. The shop offers a military discount and offers Apple Pay as well. Now that we live here on the First Coast or the Historic Coast, I am anxious to build up my hat wardrobe. On each visit to St. Augustine, I KNOW The Panama Hat Company is a must visit!

Tony and his staff offer top notch hats AND Customer service! Bought 2 beautiful hats and they took care of shipping them home for me. Took great care If everything AND they have some super cool Brixton masks that have lanyards attached! Love this shop!

I was looking for a classic ring to accent my right hand. Wow, what a selection! It was like being in a cool museum. Terry is invaluable not to mention very patient and kind (there were six of us). Back to my review of C & L ... they maintain a really beautiful and unique selection of items... all quality. What's unique about this place, IMO, is the staff. They are quite knowledgeable about antiques, historical periods for when (and how) items would have been produced, as well as, the background of artists and craftmanship. Several times they've offered to research items I've asked about, then taken time to track down unique items, for me. They have demonstrated very good communication whether by phone, texting, or email ... and even without my asking, have been very reasonable with me on pricing. I think what stands out is that they are interested in forming a long-term relationship/satisfaction with their customers... not just pushing sales for a "one-time" purchase, which is really refreshing. I happen to have spoken to one or two other customers I've seen in the shop and they said their experiences were the same as mine. A unique gem of place in amongst all the "touristy" shops in St. Augustine.

This shop is filled with what I can only describe as man-cave oddities including specialty cutlery, metal models and just an array of things you don't see everyday, as well as some provisions e.g. unique coffee blends. It's not a shop that I could spend hours exploring but it definitely captured my interest long enough to look at all their offerings. There is a lot of inventory in a relatively small space. The store is very organized and the staff if very friendly so if you do visit there's no need leaving without having all your questions answered...

I was at this awesome little shop this last Saturday, 4/22- fantastic inventory for a smaller shop. There are a few shops in the area with knife selection but they're utterly inferior (but fun to check out) compared to this shop. The one thing that showed me that this shop even existed was the awesome sign that says something along the lines of, "manly toys, manly hobbies"- I had to drop in to see if the sign lived up to its claim. As I've said, I was very impressed with the offerings they've got at this shop. Wasn't just that though- both of the employees on shift were absolutely top-notch. One of them was working on a tool or busy with something iirc but when I walked by him he greeted me and told me to please let him know if there's anything he can help me with. A few minutes later I took him up on it and asked if I could take a closer look at a nice camo para 2 I had my eye on. He dropped what he was doing and said, "oh absolutely brother, no trouble at all". Love the attitude. We chatted for a good 5-10 min, the guy is super knowledgeable.. steels/general metallurgy, guns, actions, history, etc.- the guy knew darn near everything. I forgot to ask his name but he's the guy who had a grandpa who worked on design for one of the big firearm manufacturers back in the day. I had just finished eating a big meal so I was a little sleepy- wish I remembered which manufacturer as that would help identify the guy (he and I were looking at one of the bright yellow serrated H2 knives that had a depressed glass-breaker at the butt of the knife's handle- we were both confused as neither of us had ever seen that mechanism in a knife before. It pops out when you squeeze the handle with the blade closed). He was great- best interaction I've had with an employee/salesperson in a good while- he definitely belongs in sales/customer service as he was warm, welcoming, very knowledgeable, conversational, etc. I genuinely enjoyed conversing with him and will definitely be back to this shop primarily because of him (it's hard to find good help nowadays- someone who actually cares about something other than tiktok, especially in the younger generations... I should know as I'm a part of those younger gens) but also because of the solid product selection. Anyway, there was a skinnier gentleman working behind the counter as well- he was great and very helpful. TL;DR : Come visit this shop- I promise you will absolutely not regret it! Great selection (Spyderco, Benchmade, Kershaw, Microtech, CRKT, etc), great staff, and solid location. I'll be back very soon! The only thing I'd like to see different is for them to start carrying Zero Tolerance. They're absolutely fantastic knives, rock-solid and they use great steels.
