This was my first time there. I was more interested in trying their pan dulce-Mexican sweet bread. Actually, the hornito was soft, pink cookies sweet and the chocolate cupcake was tasty, that was mines and i just happened to be craving chocolate. The young man provided me with excellent customer service and very helpful before I purchased it. The ambiance is a small establishment, order your food, some tables to sit, and like a small market. I need to go back and check out their food menu. They sell different types of papusas and other food items. The parking lot is small and hopefully, you can find some parking, I had no problem since I arrived at 3:30 pm. If you are in the area of Merced try them out if you are craving Mexican authentic pan dulce-sweet bread. Go try them out and go get you some. read more

Salvadoreño aquí presente solo un detalle que me gustaria compartir con los de la pañería olmos estoy seguro que talves solo fue mi orden la que salió así eso espero me encantan las pupusas es mi plato favorito desde que tengo memoria y se que no hay muchos aquí en merced que hacen buenas pupusas como ya saben las pupusas no es solo masa y meterle cosas es un plato que se hizo con amor ternura y pasión porfavor no arruinen las pupusas de ese modo mi última orden fue 1 revuelta 1 de queso y 1 de queso con loroco ahora la revuelta estaba bien 8/10 no se si será una salvadoreña la que las haga estoy seguro que no lo es ya que las pupusas de loroco traian queso y un ramo de loroco entero literal se cortó el gajo de loroco de la planta y se metio ahí 2/10 visualmente no daban ganas de comerla pero si cerraba los ojos y me imaginaba las pupusas de loroco que con tanto amor hace mi abuela pues me podía imaginar algo mejor de lo que me estaba comiendo ahora las de queso no se que usen quesillo ? Queso o plastilina blanca ? La verdad me asusta pensar que fue plastilina pero lo digo por qué cuando la pupusa de queso se enfrio al querer cortarla el queso parecía plastilina literalmente yo se que es complicado pero otro punto que me gustaría que vieran es la cantidad de masa comparado con la mezcla adentro porfavor cámbiela por qué ahorita está de 30% mezcla y 70% masa cuando tendría que ser al revés eso cualquier salvadoreño te lo puede confirmar si llegaste hasta aquí que quede claro esto no es una burla ni una crítica en mala onda esto es para que puedan mejorar la calidad del platillo favorito de muchos aquí o seguir las instrucciones de una salvadoreña al momento de hacer pupusas eso es todo gracias read more

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly: The Good: It's a great place to get some Pupusas! Everything is freshly made when you order. The curtido is fresh and won't leave your tongue burning in hell fire. The Bad The only thing that I didn't like is that they were a little bit too small for the price. The cost for one Pupusa as of January 3rd, 2023, is $3.50 - $4.50 each. We do understand, however, that prices are changing constantly in this new economy. The Ugly: Nope, nothing here. That's rare! Overall: In my opinion and the opinion of my Guatemalan born hubby, this is the most authentic flavor of the El Salvadoran pupusas in and around the Merced area. There are a lot of places that offer pupusas, but they are not the same if you get them in a Mexican restaurant... OK/good but not the same. My 2 cents... Food was good. Service was trash. On our way to sac, we stopped in to get some food and bread. Spent $55 for 3 people and bread. When the food came out we couldn't believe the portions and the food itself was delicious. We realized the quesadillas had salsa on them (where we come from all the stuff normally put on the side) & we asked the women who brought us our food if there was anyway they can take it off or remake them. She replied w "there's nothing here stating you didn't want salsa I was next to the girl who took your order I heard you didn't say anything" & normally yes I understand. HOWEVER, there's nothing on the menu stating they put salsa on or on the side of the tacos. Bc of a medical situation I can't eat seeds & that's why we said something. As a service provider I understand it's frustating when something needs to get redone or proper communication isn't established but to come at a customer w such attitude & the "not my problem" gimmic is crazy. The pupusas are ok. There aren't any good pupusa places here in Merced so whenever I realllllllllllly want pupusas I come here. I've only gotten from them twice in a span of a year and I do think they have improved from the first time I went. But..they can still put more filling for the price and size. 5/10 read more

Worst place I've ever gone to eat pupusas. There shouldn't be a point to ask for more of one ingredient. They make their pupusas big enough so then there should be room for a fair share of ingredients. I ordered two types: revuelta and loroco. The revuelta had more black beans and old cheese and a small amount of chicharrón. Like the size of a Powerade lid. By the time I reached the chicharrón it tasted like nothing, super bland. The loroco was supposed to be a bit grounded. Meaning like well mixed and not taste whole buds of the plant. Basically I was given the whole buds of loroco instead of it being shredded and mixed in with the cheese. The curtido had no flavor and neither did the salsa. I found a piece of hair in mine. I even ordered a sope to see if it's be better and I was wrong. The beans were watery. The green sauce was a bit sour and the asada was bland. I was given one WHOLE slice of tomato on top. I even bought a Kolashampan, the soda, and it was super over priced. Super overpriced food with no flavor. Do NOT recommend at all. I was super disappointed. Not worth the price. Slow food service as well. Tables weren't even clean or restocked with napkins. I went with a friend and it was only me and her in there. Maybe I would've been more understanding if it were busy but it was just me and my friend and the lady working. I wanted to get a birthday cake that was two tier. They said they could do it. So we got it for 237 dollars which is too much for a cake . When we got it, it was terrible , it was not the way we wanted it to be it was unbelievable . We ordered it with fresh strawberries and bananas and it came with strawberry gel. It didn't even come with bananas. The cake itself looked horrible. They used some type of frosting that was not supposed to be used and they dyed it! It was all over everyone . I was going to rate it 1 star but I chose 2 because the lady was actually going to let me buy something when she was about to leave and close down. So, I got here at around 8:26 pm. I've been craving these Mexican chips but when I bought them yesterday they were expired so I decided to come today and check them out. As I was going to enter the store a man started to come out with some children. He proceeded to nearly close the door in my face but I guess I was walking too fast and they were both like "We're closed". I checked the time and it was 8:26 pm. So I said "Oh, I thought you guys closed at 8:30 pm" and the lady was like "what do you want" and I was like "I just wanted to buy some chips" so she was like "ok" and proceeded to go to the register and wait for me. So I checked the chips and ALL of them expired in NOVEMBER 2018! I was like "never mind, they're all expired". You would THINK that she would take them off the shelves right away but no! She didn't!
