I love Pan de Manila pandesal. They're soft and tasty (sometimes I don't use a spread to flavor it anymore, especially for the whole-wheat pandesal). Years ago, Pan de Manila branches were far from our place so we rarely had this treat. So I was happy when two branches close to our house opened, including this branch, which I had biked to on a few occasions.
It's not just their pandesal that won our hearts. Our family loves the cheese bread sticks, too. Sometimes, I buy some ensaymada too - the amount of margarine and sugar are just right and decadent enough for this classic bread. We also tried one of their spreads, particularly the peanut butter, and it tasted like natural peanut butter with a little sweetness but with none of the usual additives in store-bought peanut butter. We also love the herb cream cheese, which is perfect for pandesal. A few times I also bought one of their sachets for hot chocolate, and it made quite a rich and sweet drink. read more
