Buko pandan is the best. It's my favorite Filipino dessert, ranking higher than halo-halo or any other famous concoction. I don't know why, but that mix of coconut milk, coconut meat and pandan jelly is just perfection for me, and I'm always on the look out for better versions of this seemingly ordinary dish. The buko they use is also always fresh, and their pandan jelly is some of the best around. Back when they weren't available in Metro Manila, I'd savor their buko pandan for months, and I've even eaten it spoiled. I just scraped off the cream (the first part to spoil), washed the buko and pandan, and then ate it anyway. Yup. If that isn't a power testimony of quality then I don't know what is. read more
