    C6 Chicken Broccoli

Quick service. Beef teriyaki was soo good charred to perfection. Chicken fingers were fluffy and not greasy. Pork fried rice was average and chicken w broccoli was not good. Practically flavorless and colorless.

Pu pu platter did NOT taste like poo-poo. Everything was nice and crispy. Definitely going back!

Single best late night Asian food I've had since Quan's at BU closed in 2015. My standards have also increased since then, so the fact that I thoroughly enjoyed my food should say something. Chicken friend rice without soy sauce and chicken pad Thai are two of my favorite foods and idk if I can go anywhere else for them from here on out.

Veggies in garlic sauce, general guas chicken, veggie fried rice and house lo mein

Great Chinese food and great service. Ordered on their website for delivery and they came exactly on time (even on New Year's Eve!). You can choose the spice level for the some of the dishes. The choices are no spice, a Iittle spicy and extra spicy. I chose extra spicy and it wasn't that spicy at all - it was perfect and delicious. Highly recommend the veggie in garlic sauce and veggie fried rice.

This is the krapow for the lettuce wraps. It's nothing like the photo on the website, nor is it like any krapow I've ever seen or tasted.

tl;dr: Cheap fast delivery. Unrecognizable food in large portions. It probably won't kill you. I ordered from a paper menu that was left in my mailbox. Shop local, ya know? The pan part of the name is like those poly people who want to date you and five other people. All game, no gastronomy. In the case of this restaurant, it means you can get "Thai" and "Chinese," scare quotes in each case, and maybe some other Asia-ish food, but it'll be a roll of the di. I only ordered Thai, so that's what this review will focus on. But I'm guessing they're as good at "Chinese" as they are at "Thai." Which is to say, not very. NOTE: The food isn't terrible but it's not at all what you'd recognize in any other restaurant as the thing. My cases in point are the pad thai and the krapow (known elsewhere by approximations of the sound ka-pow). Pad thai was bland. I had to add tons of soy sauce and then a healthy three squirts of sriracha. But worse than that is that it comes with random vegetables -- a sprig of broccoli, over-cooked green beans, other weird looking unidentifiables. It looks like it accidentally got contaminated by other meals in the same wok although maybe that's on purpose. I also got the krapow lettuce wraps. Krapow is supposed to be two things: a ground meat (pork, chicken, or beef) in a very spicy Thai basil sauce. It isn't made with noodles of any kind. It's also not made with chopped meat. The krapow at Panasia is made of chopped chicken with weird veggies (see pad thai above), like kung pao without the flavor. It was like no other krapow I've ever had. And it's absolutely nothing like the photo of krapow on the PanAsia website. When I opened the plastic container, I thought (for sure) that they'd given me the wrong dish. It was also bland -- no thai basil spicy sauce. It was a thin layer of stirfry atop a bed of weird noodles (so basically half a serving at full price). In addition to the lack of flavor, this is a problem because very often people who are low/no carb order lettuce wraps to avoid the noodles. You'll be SOL if you do so at PanAsia thinking you'll be getting a meat and veggie dish. Also, just like the Pad Thai, t's riddled with odd vegetables -- soggy green peppers? -- the same stuff that was in the pad thai. The good news? The iceberg lettuce was fresh and plentiful and packed separately. More good news is that they deliver fast on the cheap -- less than $3 and often (at times) free. No hidden charges. You'll pay pretty close to the combined cost of each item you order plus tax. They're also courteous, although they didn't tell me until they showed up at my door that they didn't charge my credit card. I had to dig through my purse to find enough cash for the food and tip. The portions are large, if you don't mind all the irregularities. If all you want to do is fill your late-night gut, you'll probably do fine. Maybe other things they serve are better/closer to expectations of Americanized Asian food. If I didn't have other options (as in, if I lived deep in Southie), I might experiment to see which menu items were edible, and I mean that in the best possible way. They've got to do better with other things than they did with the pad thai and the krapow.

Hair on my order of completely inedible & soggy General Gaus.

*Limited Street Parking (Resident Pass Required)…read more The vibes is here are great, it has dim lighting and is pretty busy but small so I would recommend getting a reservation. They have a limited menu with some items being seasonal but the waiters are very helpful and will let you know. I strongly recommend the toro, it is on the pricey side for $55 but it is one of their most popular dishes and I would say it's worth it. One dish that was recommended by everyone that I was a little disappointed about was the lobster roe pasta. It was good but I didn't enjoy it as much as expected and it started become gummy like so if you don't eat it quickly, it may become like this. It is a little plain without the lobster meat but there is an additional $15 charge so that is up to you. We also got another dish, I forget the name I think it was some black bean octopus over rice. But this dish was great with a little spice to it. Enjoyed the sake flight as well, the menu is pretty descriptive so you can pick and choose which ones that look good to you.

I visited about 3 months ago so some of the menu items I tried might be outdated, but I wanted to…read moreshare some thoughts about my experience because some of the dishes were exceptional. We started with the temaki sushi ($32) which came with two handrolls that had a good balance of rice and fish. They weren't super large but were fresh and had good flavor. We then got the miso-braised pork shoulder ($18), which was a larger portion than expected. This was our favorite dish, as the pork was very tender and flavorful. The dish had pieces of cabbage which were soft, naturally sweet, and soaked up all the flavor of the sauce. I would get this again, but with some rice because it was seasoned strongly. As this seems to be one of their most popular dishes, we also ordered the lobster roe pasta ($34). While the noodles were creamy and tasty, I think this dish is more worthwhile if you add the lobster (+$15). It does become even pricier at that point, but the noodles on their own were not super memorable. At the end we had some stomach space left and were still curious about the menu so we ordered the monkfish katsu ($25). I regretted getting this! The breading and fish basically tasted like the frozen fish fingers you can buy from the grocery store. While the yuzu tartar sauce was tasty, the rest of the dish was just not worth it. Overall, I thought the fish was good quality and really loved the pork shoulder. I would definitely eat here again, but would do more research on different menu items ahead of time.

Unfortunately, Yelp doesn't allow for half stars, but Yunnan Kitchen would be a solid 4.5/5 for me…read more A group of friends and I made the trek to the South End on a rather sad, rainy day, so we had high expectations for the food. For the most part, Yunnan delivered. We came in on a Sunday at 5 pm, and the restaurant was moderately busy. We were able to find seating and order relatively quickly. Based on one friend's suggestion and a bit of online help, we ordered the Boiled Fish Fillet in Chili Oil, the Mint Beef, the Potato Pancake, and the Stir-Fried Rice Cakes. Overall, the meal was pretty good. The stars of the dinner were the Stir-Fried Rice Cakes and the Mint Beef (which was realllyyyy minty and herbaceous), while the fish tasted pretty standard for a typical Chinese restaurant. The Potato Pancake added some nice texture, but it wasn't particularly memorable and I probably wouldn't order it again. Now you might ask... okay? Cozy restaurant, fast service, good food--why the 0.5 off? And sadly, it was the dessert. Call me picky, but this was the part I had the highest hopes for. After finishing our meal, we decided to get the Coconut Delight and the Devil Sweet Sticky Balls (their words, not mine). The Coconut Delight was... okay. The best part was the bread (three pieces per cup), which, when soaked in the coconut milk, was just heavenly. But beyond that, the dish resembled a rather sad, runny coconut sago. The Devil Sweet Sticky Balls weren't much better. We loved the texture of the rice balls (chewy!), but the brown sugar syrup tasted burnt and left a strange, bitter aftertaste. This may have been a one-off, so we'll have to return to verify (and when we do, I'll update this review). But to give Yunnan the benefit of the doubt, I'll round up to a full 5 stars for now. For main dishes, fast service, and a cozy ambiance, Yunnan hits all the right boxes (just not quite dessert!)

The lighting here is very dim and gives off romantic vibes, although it's not necessarily a…read moreromantic spot. We came for dinner on a Sunday and it was fairly quiet. The food is authentic Yunnan cuisine, and while many menu items are labeled spicy, I wouldn't consider them very spicy. The flavors are more well-seasoned with just a slight hint of spice. The stir-fried rice cakes were delicious and reminded me of pad see ew in texture and flavor. The beef with longhorn peppers was very tender, and the sweet and sour pork had the perfect balance of crispiness, sweetness, and tang. The fish fillet in chili oil came in a huge portion, but I wished it had more spice. It tasted more like lightly spiced oil and lacked additional depth of flavor. I also did not enjoy the Dali mushrooms, as they were very dry and bland even with the side of chili powder. Overall, I would come back because the food is good, but if you're expecting bold heat, I recommend asking for a higher spice level. The service was okay.

Wow what a great meal!…read more We went as a party of five. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodated us running late as well. Our server was so kind and gave us helpful advice on our order. We ended up ordering the Jerk Duck drumettes which were incredible -- super soft fall off the bone duck in a tangy sauce with some spice. Truly perfect and I think we all licked our plates clean. We also tried the fried okra which had little okra sticks set in a yogurt dip and was a really nice compliment to the drumettes. Last we got the Plantain chips which were so good -- definitely some of the best plantain chips I have had because they cut them so thin! And the dipping sauce was yummy also, would definitely start your meal with this. For mains, we shared the Suya Fennel, Goat Ragu, and Prawn Curry. I'm not sure I've ever eaten a fennel dish before but the Suya Fennel was so yummy with different textured vegetables in a creamy sauce. The prawn curry was also incredible with five fat prawns in a tangy coconut curry sauce with a side of fried roti/paratha perfect for cleaning up all the sauce. They also were easily able to accommodate a nut allergy and put the cashew cream on the side for us! The goat ragu was also yummy but came out like-warm (not sure if that's how it's supposed to come) and was overshadowed by the other mains a bit. For dessert we ended up trying all three -- the Cardamom Semifredo, Chocolate Raspberry Clafoutis, and Mango ice cream and love all of them! I think we all agreed our favorite was the Cardamom Semifredo because it's so unique -- the texture of the cake is almost like rasmalai and it comes with crunchy puffed rice which was a perfect balance. Definitely worth trying if you're open to trying something new! We also loved the mango ice cream with peanut brittle which is thicker than typical ice creams and also like a mango lassi ice cream. The chocolate clafoutis was super solid and similar to a lava cake, and perfect if you're looking for a chocolate fix, but not as unique as the other two. Overall we had such a great time at Comfort Kitchen. The service was great, the food was great, and the vibes were great. We will certainly be back!
