I drive by this diner everyday and I've always been curious to see what it was all about and I'm so very glad I did. This is a nice, simple family diner with a nice selection of meal options with very fair pricing for all that you're getting. Our meals even came with a dessert and I chose the jell-o. Nice friendly service and our food came at a very good amount of time with nice amounts of time checking our table. It wasn't crowded at all and the dining area had plenty of tables. I think it's more crowded during the breakfast rush. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of parking. The lot is TINY (about 12 parking spaces) and there's a sign saying to be cautious of parking in the nearby lot or risk being towed but, the crazy thing is the strip mall is completely empty most of the time because there are hardly any other businesses right there! read more

Whenever we want some delicious skillet, omelette or your neighborhood diner, Palos Diner is definitely the place to be. We've been coming here for the last 17 years and food has always, I mean always, every single time, delicious. Not once have I gotten anything that isn't good. Our favorite is the skillet. House skillet, vegetarian skillet, Greek skillet, you name it, it's delicious hahaha It comes with pancakes or toasts and I love putting my sunny side up egg on a piece of buttered wheat bread. Yummmmm!!! I love seeing the kids grow up too where they used to be so little and now in their 20's helping out the family diner. Small family owned diner that has good food and everyone here is very friendly and welcoming. I have never been disappointed with anything I have ever ordered for breakfast or lunch. Palos Diner has my favorite fries around. Portion sizes are mostly reasonable and I rarely have leftovers to take home. Except when I order a Housestack for breakfast. It is delicious but I am never able to eat more than half at one time. It is a decent value and you get a little discount if you pay with cash. read more

This place has been in the community for some time now and I can't count how many times I've eaten breakfast/lunch and even dinner here either alone, on the go or with family dining in. The menu options are pretty great everything from BLT sandwich, or even a steak dinner. Breakfast choices are amazing. This family owned business knows what their doing when their in the kitchen and the hospitality is superb! They treat you like your one of the family members and constantly make sure you're being taken care of. Dean the chef is on point and comes to say hello to his guest which is very nice of him to do even during such a busy day. Overall I highly recommend this dinner to all families who enjoy breakfast foods, lunch and dinner options as well and their business hours are great coming from a guy who's work hours change so knowing this place is close to home and suitable makes me happy. Let me first say that I can deal with bad food and coffee, but when it comes to service it must be top notch. My biggest complaints with the diner is that I have been coming here since they opened their doors, but every visit seems like a part of the movie "Groundhog Day". Yet you go there and there are a couple of counter sitters that seem like part of the owners family. The second is their service, like I said before it can be spotty. The weekend waitresses walk around like somebody stored a 2x4 up their backside. In most of the visits here I do tip very well, hoping good service on future visits, I was wrong. During my last visit and I do mean my last visit, my waitress was busy doing everything in her power to avoid our table. I was dying for a coffee refill and she was MIA, and the other waitress (who also has been tipped well by me) just walked on by with the coffee pot. Would it kill you to throw some coffee in a couple of cups as you walk by? My partner asked for hard boiled eggs with their meal, asking for a spare kidney would have been easier. She sat there and argued that hard boiled eggs were impossible to get. What throwing two eggs in a pan of hot water for a couple minutes is some kind of burden. read more

Very affordable with plenty of seating and parking just steps away. I can recommend the BLT Deluxe and the Belgium waffle. Make sure to stop in and try it for yourself. The service is generally good, but will vary by waitress. The atmosphere is that of a nice and clean diner, although it gets crowded on Sundays The food is good and the portions are generous. Most of the food you could get in other places, but it is always well made and tastes good. In a few dishes though the Palos Diner shines. The corned beef hash is excellent. The best dish on their menu, however, is their chopped steak. It is made from fresh ground beef and I have never had better.
