We hired Palmer Tree Services of Framingham to do some difficult work at our Hopkinton conservation property, including removing four large invasive species trees and some additional trimming. This was in a heavily wooded area, so it was not easy work -- these trees had to be taken down carefully from the top down, with real skill and judgment. Because this is protected land, care and expertise mattered a lot to us, and Palmer's crew absolutely delivered. They were professional, hardworking, courteous, and clearly experts at what they were doing. We were genuinely impressed with the quality of the work and the respect they showed for the property. Tremendous job removing a tree in the heart of Boston. Their guys showed up on time and we're able to remove a invasive infrastructure damaging tree which overhung phone lines, on a narrow street with windows and expensive slate roofs without damaging anything. The team was even able to professionally work around a stoned renter in an apartment building who wanted to tie herself to the tree which was destroying her building's foundation. Phenomenal work, great crew, minimal collateral damage, great cleanup. We quoted with a couple of tree companies to have six trees removed from our property. The trickiest items were removal of a large oak limb that was directly overhanging the house and another medium-sized tree that was dying and leaning toward a shed. Gustavo was very quick to respond and came to quote the job for us. They believed they could do it in half a day. We had a limitation that they could not bring cranes or heavy equipment across a gas line easement on the property, and they agreed to this even though the trees were in the back yard. Their quote was $600 lower than the other. The job was scheduled very quickly (on Friday for the following Monday). The crew arrived at 7:30AM and were all done by 10:30! The crew chief Ever was very pleasant. No heavy equipment was driven on the ground, only on paved road/driveways. They had two climbers and rigging. The crew of seven guys made quick work of sectioning and lowering the tree segments in a way that minimized the damage to surrounding trees and the grounds, carrying most of the removed wood to the chipper instead of dragging it. Gustavo was on site to help direct the operation. They did a great job cleaning the site afterward. They cut the stumps short and removed almost all of the branches/twigs and blowing the ground clear. We did not ask them to grind the stumps. Of the four tree companies I have used over the years, these guys are tops for price and effectiveness! read more

Called Palmer Tree Service to remove two large trees that were damaged and represented a potential danger of falling. Gustavo came the next day to provide an estimate and was able to have his crew take care of both trees within just a few days. The work was flawless - they avoided damaging anything beneath the trees (i.e., shrubs/plants/lawn) and they cleaned up everything so that it was almost impossible to tell that they had been there. You can believe the excellent reviews: Gustavo and his crew are utmost professionals and a pleasure to watch and to work with. Gustavo quickly responded when I put out a request for a quote here on Yelp and came by to give an estimate in short order. He was super attentive to a deadline I had with an insurance issue: he scheduled the work to be done so that I could get the paperwork in on time before my insurance policy was scheduled to be cancelled due to a inspector citing overhanging trees and an old roof. Watching them take down one invasive sycamore maple, trim a second hanging over my shed, and prune a very large sugar maple hanging over my roof in Jamaica Plain was like watching a group of surgeons. They were so careful with winching the big limbs, cutting and then oh so carefully lowering them down: quite a feat, given how close the houses are and how many telephone lines they had to maneuver around.
