Tony as a business owner gets it. He and his company exceeded my expectations. Called this AM to ask if coming in the afternoon would be good instead of tomorrow. They arrived and like a well oiled engine everyone did what they needed to prepare to cut our 3 trees down. Everyon knew what the other was doing. Protective mats were laid down to protect our lawn. Equipent was used to lift cut branches etc. They used blowers and rakes to make our lawn look like they were never there. Bottom line is Tony is a man that is honorable. He stuck by his fair quote and did exceptional work. Great crew and professional business owner. Tony I will share my experience with anyone who I know. 5 Stars!!! Really appreciate the appointment that was booked 3 weeks out because you were busy. Also thanks for saying you could save my 50 ft trees, but you're too busy to schedule a visit in the next two months, so they'll die. Lastly, thanks for recommending I cut down my trees that could have been saved and quote me 3k simply to plant 8 foot trees in their place. Suppose I'll buy a chainsaw and get to work. Just awesome. A1 Tree Service did an outstanding job removing a very large tree and the tree's stump from my front yard. Tony was in charge of my job. He was very knowledgeable and patiently answered all of my questions. When I scheduled an appointment to get an estimate on my job, Tony was exactly on time. When it was time to start the job, Tony was also exactly on time. I hate it when people are late for appointments, so this was very important to me. This was not an easy job because of the size of the tree and the proximity of the tree to my house. The tree and stump were both expertly removed without any damage to other trees or my house. Also, Tony was immaculate and all of the debris from the job was removed. I highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again. read more

They came out to the house to take down a tree and add some cables to an old maple tree to help prevent the tree from splitting from snow this winter. Within a day, the cable fell out of the tree... not sure how it was they installed it, but safe to say, not very well. When we called to have them come back, we left a message and were told someone would call back. No one did, and so far it's been three messages, no return call. I would say they were great for taking down the tree, but when it comes to fixing something they did wrong, once they have your money, you won't hear from them again. Given the lack of response to their problematic work I can't recommend them. read more

We had 4 VERY large trees (Maple and Oaks) in our back yard and after receiving 5 different estimates we decided to go with A-1. They offered the best quote so we went ahead an scheduled an appointment. A-1 was able to come by 2 weeks ahead of time to get the work done and you can't imagine how much we appreciated that! The owner of the company was extremely polite and professional and so were all of the A-1 employees. They worked efficiently and carefully, they even stopped cutting at one point because they found a baby blue jay nest that we later relocated to a near by tree. Needed a tree service after a big storm and A1 not only responded quickly to quote, they were professional the whole way through. I figured they were incredibly busy due to the storm and I was right as we needed to schedule the work a month out. A week later they finished a nearby job and called me to see if they could complete the work early. Awesome! They did the work quickly and completely. They even came back quickly for the stump grinding and the cleanup. The cleanup went above and beyond!!! They left my yard far better after the storm the it was before. We had tree damage from Irene. They came on the same day and gave us a quote. They removed the trees within a week and ground down the stumps within the next week or so. Did take some followup calls, but they were doubtlessly swamped. No one else called us back, period, even a couple of places that promised to give us a quote. The price was extremely reasonable. Just had a tree come crashing into my home. The next day A1 came out and quickly gave me a bid. Crew was fantastic. Huge job removing 7 big trees and these guys made a dangerous job seem like child's play. In addition they cleaned up after themselves like they were never there. This company did a large amount of work in my neighbor's and my yard, the most challenging part of which was a 90' tree removal. I watched them for 2 hours while they work and was so impressed! They are experts at what they do - technically dismantling this tree, piece by piece, avoiding house, yard or overhead wire damage. They protected the lawn, and cleaned up beautifully afterwards. In addition, they are a wonderful group of people to work with. They came out to survey my trees within days of my call and gave me a timely estimate which was extremely competitive. They then performed the work within 2 weeks of my signing the contract, but the best part is that their work was outstanding - that of a top notch tree service. I highly recommend A-1. read more

Horrible experience with this company. I called to set up a time to have someone come out and give me a quote. This took 2 weeks due to playing phone tag with whoever deals with making appointments. Finally I make the appointment however they only had one early in the morning. I work late nights so waking up early was not ideal. The day comes for the appointment and I receive a call asking if we can move the appointment to an hour later i said that would be fine. The later time approaches so I go outside to wait. 15 minutes later still they have not arrived. I try to call them to see if I had possibly gotten the time wrong. No answer. I wait another 20 minutes still no one. I call another 3 times no answer. I eventually go back into my house thinking they are just not going to show up. 3 hours later my door bell rings. I met with a guy who smelled of cigarettes and looked dirty. He gave me an estimate of what it might cost and it seemed a little high for the work that needed to be done. He said he would have someone email me with the actual quote the next day. I waited 5 days and no email. I call to see what is going on and this lady tells me that the guy I met with is sick and hasn't been in for wile and she doesn't have the quote. She tells me she will email it to me when he gets back. That was 2 months ago. Luckily I got into contact with Stumpys Tree Service very professional and very nice and a great price. read more

Tony at A-1 is a nice guy who cuts down trees like any other company. The problem with this company is that they do not respond to call backs when a job is partially done in one day. I made the mistake of paying Tony for cutting down some trees and then grinding the stumps. He claimed he would be back to grind the stumps. This was six months ago. I have called four times to follow up on the stumps. I was only able to speak with a lady in the office once. She said I was on a 'List" and that they were very busy. This was a month ago. I called back again this week, no answer, I left a message but they did not call back. The office person is definitely not customer friendly and may be a family member. Her attitude is such that she doesn't care about keeping customers and the companies reputation. She is too busy to return phone calls or to make things right. When you pay thousands of dollars for labor, you would think the company would want you back as a repeat customer. Not her... I should have known this company was sketchy when Tony Moralis asked to have the check made out to him directly, not to the company name. I should not have paid the entire amount, but I trusted him. Foolish me. I have used A-1 in the past with no issues. I would not recommend this company again, even if they bid cheaper. Stumpy's tree service is much more professional for about the same price. Their personnel and equipment are far superior. They actually answer the phone and care about customer service. read more

Lightening struck an enormous spruce tree beside our home, creating a large crack in the trunk. We needed the tree removed quickly before winds threatened to push it onto the house. I called A1 and Tony was at our home within the hour. He came with his crew and equipment the next day. They carefully removed the tree branch by branch. Then they cleaned up the area and even raked over the leaves to cover any tracks. Incredibly, he found a way to do the job more efficiently than expected and charged me less than his initial quote. We were so grateful to have the dangerous tree removed. Kudos to A1 for being quick, careful and fair! read more

They scheduled to come out to take a tree down and rip out the stump on a Wednesday for Thursday. They cancelled Thursday, set it up for Friday. Cancelled Friday, don't work Saturdays, set it up for Monday. Called and said they will be there Tuesday. Came Tuesday. I got home Tuesday night to find the entire trunk of the tree laying in my yard with other logs and the stump not even touched. I called them and they said their truck broke so they would be back out Thursday or Friday. It is Friday evening and all the wood is gone but the tree stump is still there...........
