These guys were in the neighborhood doing work on a different street on trash collection day, but for some reason, parked in front of our house and took the liberty of moving our trash bins and yard waste bags off the street and onto our lawn to make room for their truck. They left the bags and trash bins there even after leaving. We missed the yard waste pickup for the week as a result. Very irresponsible of these guys and shows how little regard they have for their customers' communities. read more

We have contracted Stumpy's a couple times for work at our house. They are always easy to work with on scheduling. The work execution has been flawless. Good communication. Efficient Teams that are in and out quickly with minimal disruption. Modern equipment that is amazing to watch. Fair pricing also. Easy payment online too. Highly recommend Stumpy's!! read more

We've had Stumpy's to our house to do work a few times, which makes me sick over this experience. The quote was to trim maples away from the house by climbing the maples. This never happened. I was sick yesterday, and Stumpy's was late, so I was asleep when they arrived. I woke up to their truck in our side yard and 5 branches of our hemlock lopped off so that their truck would fit. The hemlock was not near the house and not in the quote. We have had the hemlock treated in the past (hemlocks are prone to disease), and 5 healthy branches were cut to the trunk just so their truck would fit. The maples that were supposed to be trimmed were not trimmed. It was as if the Stumpy's worker never read the quote and was just there to put in a 1/2 day's work and collect a check. No care at all went into the job. At all. The truck also destroyed our yard, leaving dents that will make mowing impossible without lifting the mower. I'm sad over this because of what they did to our trees and to our yard, and also because Stumpy's had been a good company. I don't know what happened. I don't know what to do about the hemlock. It will cost us thousands to have the tree removed when it dies, and Stumpy's just shortened that timeline. Now I'm left with finding a tree company to do the job I hired Stumpy's to do, to assess the hemlock and to fix my yard. I will never, ever again recommend Stumpy's to anyone in Framingham looking for tree work. read more

Extremely unprofessional crews. neighbors up the street having work done, but my driveway got blocked. Asked them to move their truck as it's 7:30 on Monday morning, kids gotta get to school. "Go f__k yourself" along with some other choice words were yelled at me from the dude operating the crane. Nice way to run a business. read more

Highly recommend - they were very responsive in scheduling an estimate that worked for my schedule, gave a very fair price, prompt scheduling for the work, and the team that came was great. I had used another company before and was not happy with clean up. The Stumpy's clean up was impeccable. read more

I would definitely recommend stumpy's! I am beyond pleased with the work they did. I had some large, very precarious oak trees hanging over my house. They were able to come in remove five large trees and have my yard immaculate in about 2.5 hours. I have a bunch more and I'll definitely have them back in the spring. read more

If you needed to take down five 90-foot white pines very close to the house you wouldn't want to trust the job to anyone less than Stumpy's Tree Service. Two of the trees had to be lifted out of a glen and then over the roof of the house! Amazing to watch the coordination and efficiency of the team. And they bring with them most modern equipment in the business. The whole team was a pleasure to work with, from quote to clean-up. And they left the site cleaner than when they arrived. I'm a retired conservation horticulturist and my professional opinion is you cannot do better than Stumpy's. read more

We could not be happier with the service we received from Stumpy's. They cut down two, 36-yr-old dead pine trees with such great efficiency and tremendous clean-up afterwards. The workmen were gracious and informative. Stumpy's gave us the best price out of many quotes we received. We highly recommend them. read more

They were prompt in coming for an estimate and scheduling the work. Price was less than other estimate. The crew that was assigned the job were great, friendly, respectful and efficient. Cleanup was just as the contract stated. My 4yo grandson was fascinated by the activity and was better that going to daycare and less in price read more

After talking with several tree services on Yelp I chose Stumpys and I am so glad that I did!! Benny is the fellow who moved himself around the tree in a bucket. He is extraordinaryHe is a combination of a Disneyland acrobat, a precise mechanical engineer, a capable artist, and a strong man!! He made perfect cuts while holding the heavy chain saw, manipulated the seating contraption in and out of the old tree's branches choosing exactly the ones that would keep the helpful shade while ridding the tree of deadwood which would tear off in wind or storm. The two helpers were likewise courteous and hard-working dragging large branches into the chopper in the ninety degree weather. I was so grateful that I was home and able to witness this amazing event! As a math teacher/school counselor for 55 years, I give Stumpys's an A++! read more

We asked for climbers. We got a truck that destroyed our lawn. We asked for the maples to be trimmed back from the roof, they hacked our hemlock to bits and left half of the maples. Stumpy's hacked everything apart and we are left with an expensive and unfinished mess. read more

On time, professional, cleaned up after cutting the trees down and I did not have to wait long for the job to be done.

Stumpy's was able to provide timely service at a fair price. We had a huge, 3 trunk oak tree in the front lawn and were getting nervous about it's safety. They had a crew out with a crane and a stump grinder for removal. They did so safely - and with ample care to the surrounding lawn. With the crew they had - and the equipment - it was gone in about a 1/2 a day. The price was fair - and the service provided was excellent. read more

Extremely happy and satisfied with the results of the tree trimming. The team of three arrived at precisely 7:30 and went over the project with me. They were all skillful and professional in their work. Like the TV commercial, I pointed at limbs to be cut or left. At the conclusion of the job, they cleaned up everything!! Limbs, brush, and leaves ! The area has never been so clean. I highly recommend Stump's for tree work.!! I awarded the team leader an Emmy for leading his team. read more

Very happy with the work Stumpy's did at my house. They had a crew of 5 come over and cut 14 tree's at my house in 1/2 a day, including stump grinding, tree removal, and cleanup. I received several quotes and Stumpy's were able to do it the soonest, cheapest, and in the shortest amount of time (another service quoted 2 days to complete the job). 100% recommended! read more

These guys are pros! I called them for an estimate and I lucked out, they had a crew nearby and they did the job on the same day. They brought in a crane (that looked brand new and state of the art) and pulled 3 white pines from the back and side yards right from the driveway. These were huge trees, twice as tall as the house. While they were very close to the house I was never nervous as the crew was very confident and efficient. They were here for 2 hours and there is not one drop of evidence that they were here. This is the second time I used them and going forward, they will be the only team I'll use. read more

We had a huge emergency as a very large pine tree fell on our house at 6PM. James called us right back and came out at 7:30PM to take a look. His crew were there bright and early and took care of everything. We are so thankful that he responded so quickly and helped us. I would definitely recommend him for all of your tree needs. He has a large crew and cranes that can take care of anything. Also, If this happens to you, definitely have a professional tarping company take care of that part to get the roof completely covered and as water tight as can be. read more

We had Stumpy's out to remove several very large pine trees very close to the side of our house. Marc came out quickly to do the estimate and came in under any of the other companies that came out. They honored that estimate many months later, when we finally got around to scheduling the service. They arranged for police detail since their truck would be blocking the street. They completed the work in a half day. When my husband asked them to do a quick estimate on some pruning in our backyard, they provided an estimate and did the work that same afternoon. The trees are gone, the stumps were cut as close as possible to the ground, and they cleaned up well after themselves. We would definitely have them again in the future. Oh, and Carly in the office is super helpful and friendly! read more

I was really pleased and impressed with Jason and the crew at Stumpy's that removed An 80-foot tall oak tree from my backyard this morning. They placed a large crane in my driveway and within two hours had the entire tree gone. It was really impressive seeing how they dismembered the tree and ground up the branches. Their workers were considerate and safety-conscious throughout the work, and they did a nice job of cleaning up afterwards. Also they had the best price of the five companies that gave me quotes. I recommend Stumpy's enthusiastically! read more

We noticed some dead limbs high up in a grand old American beech tree in our back yard. Stumpy's gave us an estimate that compared favorably to others, and we hired them. Stumpys tree service removed multiple trees, trimmed dead branches, took out vines and left the property cleaner than when they came. I can't say enough about the crew we had today 1/11/21 (Ashland Spyglass Hill). Two of my neighbors had work scheduled the same day. This is an outstanding company. The tree climber was amazing and later jumped in the bucket truck and trimmed the remaining oaks. Don't hesitate to call this company ... you may have to wait but the quality and professionalism puts them in demand and ultimately the wait is so very worth it. Reasonable price... outstanding service...professional staff... a pleasure read more

I hired Stumpy's to remove three trees around 60 ft tall. They brought a crane and plenty of workers. The office communicated effectively with me. The foreman called to tell me he was on his way. They were efficient and left the area clean. The wood was left for me after they chipped the crowns. They piled it to the edge of my yard as we had agreed ahead of time. The only thing I'd change, is that the foreman could have knocked on the door to reassure me that they had the instructions from the first guy that came out to price the job. Once the crane and machines were going, I didn't feel I could go outside to talk to the crew. Other than that, the experience was positive and I will call them the next time I need work done. Very happy. read more

Great company , came out for a quote and was ready to rock 2 days later . We had a very difficult tree to be removed in Framingham. It was awkward to get at . These guys were awesome! We had a number of large trees within 10 feet of my house with broken branches that we were afraid were going to fall on our siding so we called Stumpy's to come take care of it. I don't know how they did it but the crew removed every single one of them without leaving a mark on my house and the stumps were ground to the point that I can't even tell where they were. I have nothing but compliments for the professionalism of the crew and their attention to detail. Not a single branch was left on the ground after they were done and they even used a blower to clean up the residual wood chips. They are the only company I will use from now on. Huge thanks! read more

I am very impressed with the professionalism of Stumpy's and everything they did. I just had trees cut down in a 150 wide x 100 foot section of my home. It was a very challenging project because there is very poor drainage in my yard. They were able to get all the equipment into my yard despite the mud and take care of most of it in one day. I really liked how they have the proper equipment to go fast, but do it safely. Their crane gently let down large trees instead of having them crash down. Thank you Mark and team! read more

I was very happy with the service I received from Stumpy's tree. my request for a estimate to remove several trees from the yard. They arrive to do the estimate date and time we had set up. It was rainy so we didn't do the estimate on site, and I received it by email the next day. The price was right on. I agreed to use this service. I gave them a deposit. And it was set up to that they could do the job as soon as possible but whenever it fit in the schedule. The next morning I received a call they came and did the job very nicely with good cleanup.
