These guys were in the neighborhood doing work on a different street on trash collection day, but for some reason, parked in front of our house and took the liberty of moving our trash bins and yard waste bags off the street and onto our lawn to make room for their truck. They left the bags and trash bins there even after leaving. We missed the yard waste pickup for the week as a result. Very irresponsible of these guys and shows how little regard they have for their customers' communities. read more

We've had Stumpy's to our house to do work a few times, which makes me sick over this experience. The quote was to trim maples away from the house by climbing the maples. This never happened. I was sick yesterday, and Stumpy's was late, so I was asleep when they arrived. I woke up to their truck in our side yard and 5 branches of our hemlock lopped off so that their truck would fit. The hemlock was not near the house and not in the quote. We have had the hemlock treated in the past (hemlocks are prone to disease), and 5 healthy branches were cut to the trunk just so their truck would fit. The maples that were supposed to be trimmed were not trimmed. It was as if the Stumpy's worker never read the quote and was just there to put in a 1/2 day's work and collect a check. No care at all went into the job. At all. The truck also destroyed our yard, leaving dents that will make mowing impossible without lifting the mower. I'm sad over this because of what they did to our trees and to our yard, and also because Stumpy's had been a good company. I don't know what happened. I don't know what to do about the hemlock. It will cost us thousands to have the tree removed when it dies, and Stumpy's just shortened that timeline. Now I'm left with finding a tree company to do the job I hired Stumpy's to do, to assess the hemlock and to fix my yard. I will never, ever again recommend Stumpy's to anyone in Framingham looking for tree work. read more

These guys are pros! I called them for an estimate and I lucked out, they had a crew nearby and they did the job on the same day. They brought in a crane (that looked brand new and state of the art) and pulled 3 white pines from the back and side yards right from the driveway. These were huge trees, twice as tall as the house. We had Stumpy's out to remove several very large pine trees very close to the side of our house. Marc came out quickly to do the estimate and came in under any of the other companies that came out. They honored that estimate many months later, when we finally got around to scheduling the service. They arranged for police detail since their truck would be blocking the street. They completed the work in a half day. When my husband asked them to do a quick estimate on some pruning in our backyard, they provided an estimate and did the work that same afternoon. The next morning, a large friendly crew showed up and completed the work in few hours. I can't say enough about the crew we had today 1/11/21 (Ashland Spyglass Hill). Two of my neighbors had work scheduled the same day. This is an outstanding company. I hired Stumpy's to remove three trees around 60 ft tall. They brought a crane and plenty of workers. The office communicated effectively with me. The foreman called to tell me he was on his way. They were efficient and left the area clean. The wood was left for me after they chipped the crowns. They piled it to the edge of my yard as we had agreed ahead of time. The only thing I'd change, is that the foreman could have knocked on the door to reassure me that they had the instructions from the first guy that came out to price the job. Once the crane and machines were going, I didn't feel I could go outside to talk to the crew. Other than that, the experience was positive and I will call them the next time I need work done. I am very impressed with the professionalism of Stumpy's and everything they did. I just had trees cut down in a 150 wide x 100 foot section of my home. It was a very challenging project because there is very poor drainage in my yard. They were able to get all the equipment into my yard despite the mud and take care of most of it in one day.
