Their arborists are excellent, skillful, pleasant. But Tyler over-estimated the hours it would take them. They did the work in a bit over five hours (or ten to eleven man-hours) Tyler had said the charge per hour was $120 per person per hour. That seemed high, but I agreed. Then the bill came in at close to $2000, or nearly $200 per hour. I wrote to them to explain that I was willing to pay $120 per hour per person for an extra hour. Someone wrote back to say the boss would call. Never did. I paid a bit more than half of the bill immediately while waiting. Then I got a letter saying they would go to law. I gave up and paid what I consider an unfair charge. read more

Today... Talked to laborer staff, talked to foreman, talked to office, talked to owner. Multiple times. Staff refused to wear masks on our property, or at one point would put it on and then literally take it off as soon as you left. It's currently local law, and it's our own contractor policy. For 8 years, I felt confident recommending this tree service to property owners. Unfortunately, the account representative, Tyler, has completely changed my opinion. I would not recommend this company ever again and will encourage properties owners to use a different tree service. Tyler promised something he could not deliver. He reassured me a landscape contractor did not need to hired for a hedge removal and cleanup. When I reached to say this particular part of project was not handled properly, He had a mini tantrum on phone and just hung up. Needless to say customer service is not one of his skill sets. These guys are awesome!! At first I was a bit apprehensive about calling them, because I though I'd get a better price from a smaller "pop&son" company rather than a larger outfit. But out of five quotes - TreeTech came in best! I actually ended up adding a couple trees to the job, because the price was so reasonable. Tyler answered a bunch of my questions and kept in constant communication. Tree removal went super smoothly and cleanly. So was the stump grinding. Tree Tech did a superb job removing a few very large white pines that towered above my home in Needham. The crew was efficient, professional, and careful. The trees were removed piece by piece, and taken away within a few days. I would not hesitate to recommend Tree Tech to anyone looking to remove trees safely. We used Tree Tech several times over the years and were always pleased but NO LONGER!! They have become terrible company with horrible customer service and a real attitude. For some reason they think they are doing you a favor by coming out to even give you an estimate. Tyler is extremely rude with a real attitude. Terrible customer service and atrocious people skills and it's his way or the highway. My wife tried to schedule appointment around her work schedule and he said no to every time she suggested without trying to accommodate in the slightest. I had 2 rather large trees in my yard, one to be removed the other trimmed and removal of dead branches. I had called several tree removal services and none called back. Tree Tech called back within 24 hrs & had a representative out within a few days. The rep was very personable & knowledgeable. He looked at the trees discussed the options. He told me he would email me a plan & estimate. Again very efficient, the estimate arrived in less than 48 hours. So I booked. They called they day before to confirm & they were right on time. The crew was great. They had the 1st tree down & total removal within an hour. The 2nd they spent alot of time & care to make sure it was how I had discussed along with the reps recommendations. It came out great. They cleaned my yard, left no debris behind. I would recommend them highly. read more

This company was great, or so we thought. During the March 2nd nor'easter, we had two large trees come down. Tree Tech was contacted right after they fell so we could ensure we would be added to the list. The next day, the crew came in the morning and removed the trees off of one structure and another off of a vehicle. Because the company had other trees to take down elsewhere, they told us they would be back in a few days to completely remove the trees from the yard. We waited, and waited. Finally after calling, they returned 6 weeks later to take the cut up trees of the property. Great, no more pile of trees. About a week later, the owner comes to the house and tells us he has undercharged us and wishes to charge us an extra $1000. We tell him, we've already paid and it's now in the hands of the insurance company, sorry. He still tries to argue with us, offering to grind the remaining stumps for $500 each. We decline and he finally leaves. We assume he understood, but apparently he did not. He calls the house three days later. We answer and he swears into the phone so we hang up. He then calls back and we let it go to voicemail where he leaves two distressing messages. He wishes to talk to us, says he doesn't understand why we will not pay more after he took down the trees (even though we agreed on the original price he gave us), then says "Why won't you talk to me?" like an upset ex-boyfriend trying to get his former girlfriend to listen to him. It was disturbing to say the least. After that, we didn't hear from him again, thankfully! In conclusion, I would not recommend this business because they apparently have issues, especially the owner. He was not professional. He wanted his clients, that he already charged and agreed to a price with them, to fix HIS mistake. TL;DR: They took the trees off of structures, then left them on the lawn for six weeks. We paid them agreed price. Owner wanted to charge us extra $1000 to cover his mistake. Then he called and left harassing messages like angry ex-boyfriend. read more

Tree Tech removed a large oak tree for us recently. Work was well done, just as you would expect from any tree company. What really set Tree Tech apart from others was how they handled a small issue that came up, due to mis-communication. Andy, the founder, personally showed up at our house within a day, and the issues was handled in a way that exceeded our expectation. The way Tree Tech treated us was something you don't see often these days - genuine care, and respect, for the customer. I have a landscape contractor who prunes my trees and shrubs. The landscaper cuts away all Tree branches so they do not touch any power lines or other transmission lines. Nevertheless, Tree Tech, under contract with Eversource, butchered my 200 year old linden tree. I was not home. But I have a Ring video doorbell. They arrived unannounced, no advance notice, did not leave any notice on my doorknob, no door tag that they had done some work. I got home about 15 minutes after they arrived to find a mess on my lawn, a technician high up inside the tree inside my property line cutting branches off the tree nowhere near the Electrical lines. I demanded the crew leave and clean up their mess. Which they did and I called Eversource to complain. This was on a Friday and small twigs with leaves on them are still falling off the tree. It is now Wednesday night. I never heard from Eversource. So Tree Tech gets this unfavorable review. read more

***This review is based on a tree evaluation only.*** I called Tree Tech on a Friday afternoon to ask if someone could stop by to check out a Norwegian Spruce in my yard and ended up leaving a voice message for Pat. He called me back the same day to ask about the tree and told me he would stop by the following Monday to check it out. (I was concerned that the tree might have been damaged due to recent yardwork). Since he was in the area on Saturday he stopped by then and fortunately I was at home and was able to speak with him for a few minutes. Like Steven C. below, there used to be some employees there that were responsive and helpful but I just had a terrible experience with one of their techs. Without boring you, I'll cut to the chase - he told my tree was fine even as I was looking at a tree that was clearly dying. Basically, his attitude was "who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?" Never asked me to send a pic. He was insolent, talked over you, and stuck with an improper diagnosis of my tree and got rather upset with me for doubting his findings. Used them for at least a decade, but have lost faith in them and what they have to say so have hired another company. read more

Imagine waking up to finding strange men in your backyard. And then imagine them telling you that they'll be sure to clean up the branches that land in your backyard. And imagine that you have no idea of who they are as they traipse through your yard and your next door neighbor's yard (that you take care of) as if they own the place. No advance permission was requested to use our backyard to down our backyard neighbor's trees nor was there any advance notice. We also know no advance notice was requested to down trees into our next door neighbor's yard because the owner died 8 weeks ago! To top it off, they damaged 2 of our bushes. We contacted our backyard neighbors, the people who hired this company, and they said the work being done should not have impacted our yard in any way and had no idea that that Tree Tech would be even entering our yard. Their yard is rather spacious with plenty of room in which to down branches and trees. Because of such poor communication on this company's part and their entitled attitude, I would never hire this company to do any tree work if we need any in the future. read more

My husband and I bought a new home in Foxboro that was surrounded by very large trees (including some that were dangerously close to the house) so we called Tree Tech to see what could be done. Tyler came out right away, and within a day or two the guys were back with their equipment getting the job done! I was blown away by Tyler's knowledge and professionalism...he patiently answered all of our questions and knew right away what had to be done to safely remove the trees and improve the aesthetic value of our yard. A person who I know socially, Roger L. who works for Tree Tech. I asked him about doing some very extensive tree removal, trimming, etc. done. He came to my house and looked the job over, made suggestions, and gave me an estimate. And he was here to do the work himself along with another Tree Tech employee. It was less that another company that also looked at the job. I am sometimes aware of problems that can occur when you try to mix friendship and business, but decided to give the job to the company he works for. I can't say enough good things about how things turned out. I am a senior citizen and last year raked up 22 bags of leaves..I only have 2 large trees on my property, the rest of the leaves come from neighbor's trees. Got the OK from all of them to do a little trimming on their trees, too. Also, a neighbor's trees were doing damage to my stockade fence..AND my house was dark. Two days ago, when I got up and went to my kitchen, I had SUNSHINE coming in!! Professional, polite, knowledgeable and the job came out better than I could have imagined. I was looking for 3 estimates to have several trees trimmed. Tree Tech was very responsive to my request. Dennis gave me some good professional advice on several branches overhanging my roof as well as others I wanted trimmed to raise the canopy. He identified several trees that I didn't know the name of, while one of the other companies didn't know what they were either. Mike and his crew did a great job taking down the branches and removing dead wood. Their cleanup was very thorough. Dennis was very responsive to several follow up questions I had. I got the shrubs in my front yard cut back and a tree trimmed. Well thats what i thought. I didn't even notice it was done until i got a bill in the mail because they were barley trimmed, especially the tree. I ended up having to go out and do it myself not even a month later. After last year's blizzard, we lost a few trees, two of which were leaning against our house. Tree tech was fast and super professional in removing them. There was a lot of potential for damage during the removal, but they didn't leave a scratch. We were so happy with them that we ended up having them come in and do some tree maintenance this year. For the last three years, we haven't had a single full leaf on our maple tree. Tree Tech sprayed for winter moths and it's like we have a new tree. The difference is unbelievable. Tree Tech is an incredible company. We live in Falmouth and had two 75' + Spruce trees go down in the 3/18 storm. Local companies wanted to climb and delimb, also using a large skid steer which would have gone over our septic field. An arborist for Davey Tree in Falmouth referred us to TreeTech because using a crane was the most efficient and safest method to remove 6 more trees. Dennis Brodeur, T Tech arborist, came out and gave us great professional advice and a quote same day. The crane crew, led by Mathew, came out about 6 weeks later - which I thought was great given the high demand for tree work. They were so professional, courteous and did a superb job. When they left you couldnt tell they had been there. Plus, to see the skill they all have was great - and provided some great videos of giant logs being lifted over the house! Within two days I called the stump grinder, also through T Tech, and they were great also. Did a great job on some huge stumps. The logging truck came the following day and took all the giant logs off the front lawn- again, you couldnt tell they had been there. I have told many, many people about this company and would definitely use them again if need arises. I am selecting one star as I am forced to choose a rating. Buyer Beware! Look at their average ratings. They either get one star or 5, so their average is 3. Hopefully, when I post this review, their rating will decline. This company could not finish our job as it began raining and they couldn't get their truck up the incline on our property nor could they climb our trees because of the weather. They told us they couldn't finish the job, but would come back. They were to get in touch with us. After I made two phone calls over the next several weeks looking for them to finish the job, I finally heard back from the salesperson who I hadn't spoke to in a year since he gave us a quote. He was not on the job nor had he returned my phone calls, but stated they came back without our knowing but finished the job. He is a liar. We actually met 5 other homeowners who used this organization much to their dissatisfaction. I wish I knew they were a shady company, obviously. So please, do not use this company. They lie, cheat and do not deliver what you expect from their quotes, drawings or estimates. There are other companies that will deliver. BUYER BEWARE! read more

I had been working with Tree Tech for 3 years. My Arborvitae trees were having some rough spots after winter.They started a Bio Stimulant program and there was improvement. This year, after the winter,I was shocked to see 3 of the trees in the middle looked completely brown..I had paid in advance for another treatment, before the winter had ended. I called to schedule my treatment and it took 2 days before Carl got back to me to schedule. I let him know my concern about the 3 brown trees. He told me that he would inform the technician to describe the situation when he got here. I was pleased to see the technician did arrive on time. He was a very unpleasant man.I opened the gate to let him in the yard and he just handed me the work order and said not a word. He stomped across my newly planted grass, looked around the yard a bit and went back to the truck. I waited to speak to him about the 3 brown trees. He returned with his assistant and neither of them said a word. They bought the line in to do the work and went past me as if I wasn't there. I finally got him to give me his thoughts about my trees. He looked at them and said They Are Dead. I asked how could this happen. He told me he didn't know. He then went about his work. This was a good company at one time I think but I would NOT reccomend them to anyone now. I was given a quote of $3200 for a full day of a 4 man crew to cut trees and chip brush piles I had. When the arrived we went over the trees to be cut and where they could place them to await pick up by a truck a few days later. I was also told I needed to choose between having brush piles chipped or trees down since now it apparently would take all four men to chip the brush. I was home working in my house the entire time so imagine my horror when I went out later in the day to see all the downed trees placed on top of a landscaped garden NOT where I had told them to put them. I had to use the time I was paying for tree removal for them to move the trees to a different area of my yard. When I spoke with the owner about this he laughed and was more interested in telling me about the TV show they were going to be on. I didn't watch the show but did read the review and one of the tree companies managed to drop a tree on someones car so I guess I can consider myself lucky that I only needed to redo one of my gardens. Oh, and Mr. Felix did knock $100 off my bill for my troubles. I took a gamble on this company since there were already some bad reviews, I would NEVER hire them again. UPDATE***As Mr Felix said I did leave my home.....after calling Dennis who did NOT answer or call me back when I left him a message. I then called the office to have them contact him, they said they could only leave a message too. After waiting a bit I called your office back to tell them I was leaving because I was so upset. Dennis never called to tell me he was coming over. I ended up replacing 2 shurbs and resetting a number of landscaping rocks. The crew was nice enough to show me where they had thrown my birdhouse in the woods so I could put that back too. When I talked with Dennis on the phone later he said it had been 'a bone headed move' a phrase you also used when I talked with you. I never threatened to post bad reviews, ever. I give reviews, good or bad based on my experience. I believe people should have information to decide on their own where they want to spend their hard earned money, especially when it is thousands of dollars. read more

We have 4 very large trees in our Providence East Side back yard and several smaller ones along the driveway. It was time to get dead wood removed and a few other trimmings done. After talking to the firm we'd last used, we contacted Tree Tech based on some of the other Yelp reviewer comments. Arborist Dennis came for the estimate and was immediately distinguishable by his conservative, organic approach to tree care. He carefully explained what he felt should be done, convinced us not to do the major tree surgery the other firm had recommended, and provided some landscaping tips, too. The Tree Tech estimate was very reasonable and we went with them. Today, Jay and his crew arrived on time. I was impressed with the size of the bucket truck they brought. We'd had problems in the past with tree services not being able to reach the 2 trees in the back. The Tree Tech truck had plenty of reach and only one of the trees needed to be climbed to be trimmed. The crew protected landscape lighting with orange cones and also moved some yard furniture so that it wouldn't get damaged. The actual trimming itself was done efficiently and thoroughly. Jay also worked with one of my neighbors to get a branch removed that overhung his yard. The crew kept busy with cleanup throughout the morning and used rakes and a blower to make sure any debris was completely removed. They returned the furniture to it's location before heading out. I have 7 diseased spruces that need to be taken down in my yard. I decided to take down 3 that were near my driveway. Tree Tech honored a quote they had given me in 2015 so I went with them. The trees were about 60 feet tall. They sent 3 guys with a bucket truck and a chipper and had all 3 trees down and everything cleaned up within 2 hours. I would have given them 5 stars but the trunks are still here waiting for their follow-up truck to come and pick them up. I was hoping to have them gone within a day or two. read more

Tree Tech crew destroyed our plantings, and when confronted, the owner, Andy Felix, merely said 'big deal, the plants will grow back' and then blamed the poor service on the landscaping company who hired them. Really? They have such blatant disrespect for plants (and customers), you soon realize they are merely construction workers, with the skill for chain saws and cherry pickers, but totally lacking any sensitivity to greenery. If you care about your property and your investment in your plant materials, do not hire this company. They are hacks. We have used Boston Tree in the past and this NEVER happened. read more
