I scheduled an estimate with Glynn Tree Experts on August 6, 2024. I was given a window of time for the scheduled visit and a representative came and evaluated the pruning work that I needed done; this was pruning, not major tree removal. I was told that it would be no problem for them and that I would receive an estimate by email. Well, August 9th came and went, no estimate. I asked for status via email to their office. I followed up on August 13th with a phone call to their office number. I was told that the estimate would be resent. Well, I never received it and never got any follow-up call. I had visits from two other tree companies and received the quotes in real-time or by the next day. Guess who didn't get hired for the job? Very poor communications and not a contractor that I'd want to hire for this type of work regardless of having "Experts" in their company name. I hired Elliott Tree of Whitman, MA who did a fantastic job at a reasonable price, and with a professional crew. read more

Many years ago when we first bought our home, we noticed that there was a huge tree that was listing uncomfortably toward the house. We live on beautifully wooded property and hate the idea of cutting any trees down but this one was in tough shape. If it had fallen, it would have landed on the house. Neighbors had recommended Glynn Tree Experts so we hired them and they did a terrific job. This tree was not only huge but was surrounded by many other trees so it was hard to maneuver around. Glynn came to the rescue and we were very pleased with the service they provided. The tree was cut down with no damage to surrounding trees. Fast forward to last year: we had been buying cord wood from another local company each fall for a long time, but a couple of years ago we were unhappy, as long-time customers, with what we were surprised to find was some suddenly dismissive and poor service. We decided that we would end our relationship with this company and purchase wood elsewhere. The best way to deal with bad service is to take your consumer dollars some place else. We remembered the great service we'd had with Glynn all those years ago so we called them up for a two cord order in 2014. They were prompt, courteous and with fair prices. The wood was seasoned well and we had a choice of two lengths. This year we ordered another two cords and are similarly pleased with the wood, the service and the quality. Since the wood gets dumped out of the back of a big truck into a huge pile you have to hope/assume you're getting the correct amount of wood. A cord is 8'x8'x4' and once stacked we were certainly convinced we did just fine by Glynn. (And I will add that stacking wood is truly one of my favorite activities and it's good exercise.) I do recommend Glynn whether you have a tree issue that needs to be addressed or whether you're looking for cord wood. read more

Very poor customer service. I asked for cord of wood delivered, some confusion about exact dumping location, very curt and rude email from Chris later that night. I called the next day to clarify, left numerous messages. No one ever called back. And they came well recommended. Too bad, I don't think much of them, and Do Not recommend at all. Called several times and left voicemails and also emailed several times trying to get a service they had offered. Finally, (I believe it was the owner) called me back and got my information and said they'd have someone out to do it in the next few weeks. That was over a month ago, and no one has shown up. Terrible customer service. I will not be using this company in the future. Because they denied ever having received communication from me here are the pictures of some of the emails. First I want to say that Chris Is a great, honest guy! I hired him to take down some dangerous full size oaks hanging over my house in Marshfield. They did an outstanding job to the point you never knew they were there (minus the trees!). Some years later now that I live in Norwell I had Chris come and trim some trees for me and the same impeccable service at reasonable prices. Just yesterday I ordered a cord or firewood from Chris and was very happy with the price! I will never use anyone but Chris and his team for all tree removal and firewood! We had a BIG limb come down on the front of our house during a bad noreaster and it really got us motivated to take down this large beech that was situated over the house. Chris was recommended to us by a few folks and we found him to be extremely responsive and highly professional. Got a reasonable quote for the tree and a few other ones that came down in the same storm, as well as a few large bushes. Chris and his crew were extremely efficient and had it all cleaned up in two days. We'll be calling Chris for all our tree and firewood needs from here on out. read more

I ordered a cord of firewood from glynn tree exoerts it couldnt have gone smoother. The wood is very high quality and the delievery of the cord was right on time. The wood was very well seasoned and burns quite well. The negative reviews for this business are false. They should be disregarded as pure foolishness. I have also had tree work done by glynn tree and they did a great job. Overall I have had great experiences with glynn tree and I look forward to doing businesswith them in the future. read more

I was taking my dog for a walk and noticed that they were working in my neighborhood. I asked the man in charge if he could stop by my house for some quick tree trims and about an hour later he was there working on my trees. We've done work with Glynn twice now. First time, a tree came down during a storm and fell on our barn leaving us with no way to get inside. Not only did they offer to come out that day but it was a holiday!! The crew are so friendly and professional and Taylor at the front end is super accommodating and helpful! Firewood Review Only, January 2015 The wood was delivered promptly, was good hard wood, good communication however the moisture content of the wood on average was greater than 25% (measured with a moisture meter), which is terrible for burning efficiency (ideal moisture content is 15%). It's nearly impossible to start a fire with the wood, since it's so moist. He should not be recommending burning this wood for this season, and I feel a little misled, however I was warned ahead of time that it was stored in his warehouse and not outside all summer. Also he charges a premium price for what I consider unseasoned wood, but that's not uncommon for this time of year w/ the supply not meeting the demand in the area. Very disappointed but purchasing firewood's always a gamble unless you do your homework. Would not buy from him again, just need to plan ahead better next season. read more

In Sept I started calling tree companies to have 3 trees removed in preparation for a construction project which hinged on their removal. I decided to go with a local company, Glynn Trees. He had told me he would be out by the middle of October. Although it was further out than I had hoped, I agreed to wait, thinking I'm helping a local company and his price was fair. The date came and went and I heard nothing. I left messages for two days and finally got a call back that they had taken too many other jobs from storms and could get to me sometime in mid November. I was so upset since people were scheduled to do work and now couldn't. I called several companies in a panic, and everyone was jammed.I connected with Chris Glynn again and although I was very unhappy, agreed to the date of November 13, a month after I had expected the work done. The second date for Glynn Trees came and went, and again NO SHOW and NO CALL. I'm not sure how you can treat customers like this, when they are counting on you for a job, you commit to the job, and then just not show up, not even have the courtesy to call and let me know. My construction is now pushed off until mid-December (two months later than originally scheduled) because of all the issues with getting the trees down. Thankfully, I found a wonderful company, Walnut Tree, who came out promptly, was super professional and left my yard looking amazing. If you have a tree job and are looking for it on a specific timeline, I would NOT RECOMMEND Glynn Trees. His last appointment for me was on the 13th and he still hasn't even returned my call. Now that there are other reviews from this fall (they weren't here last I looked), I can see it seems to be a pattern. read more

After the Blizzard of 13, I had several large limbs down and one on my roof. All were 'hangers'. I called Chris on Tuesday and spoke to the office. He called me back within the hour from my front yard and gave me a very fair quote and said he could do it the very next day. Next day trees were gone with very little evidence that they were even ever here.
