Apparel was not folded but worse, was that the ceramic coffee mug was dropped in the same way...even with the bag sitting on the counter. Rutgers apparel choices have significantly improved since my last trip here 5 years ago. There are more tan, pink, mauve and other random colors to be found in addition to the traditional red and black. The logos on the shirts and mugs are also of a great variety. Most importantly, the sizes offered are from xs to xxl in most styles. Rutgers apparel and merchandise take up the front half of the first floor. The cafe is the back half of the first floor. Clearance merchandise and children's is downstairs. Upstairs, via escalator or elevator, is where the books are located.

About 1.5 weeks later I realized that I probably wasn't going to wear it and went to the store to return it -- with the tags still attached and with the original receipt. The woman at the register refused to take it back. She said there's a no refund policy on sales items....okay but I didn't buy any of this on sale? I showed her how the receipt and tag were the same price, to prove I paid full price and didn't get any discount. She still wouldn't do the return, or even let me exchange it and didn't explain why. I wasn't about to stand there and argue with a teenager so I left. I called later and explained that I wanted to return items and wasn't able to, and was told that in general, the store doesn't do returns. At all. Obviously this isn't true, as I returned items before. The person on the phone tells me "I've worked here for two years, i would know that we don't do returns". I honestly could not care less how long you worked there. The receipt clearly states that you have a return policy. There's a bunch of stores in the area that sell Rutgers gear, it's less of a hassle to go to them instead of here.

The gem of a place was mainly a garden center with plants and flowers both inside and out. However, scattered amongst the branches and blossoms inside were a coffeeshop with homemade baked goods, cafe tables and lounge-like couches, a bar making drinks with freshly-grown herbs, and a shop with upscale home decor, kitchenware, and gourmet food products. Outside resembled an elegant rose garden with plenty of seating, as well as rotating food trucks and musicians. After we explored the grounds, we grabbed drinks from the bar (a herbaceous, citrusy mocktail for me and a cherry margarita for my companion) and sat outside among the flowers. It was a great experience at one of the coolest venues I had ever seen!

Comic Relief is located in a small shopping center with an even smaller parking lot. Or it seems…read morethat way with the amount of traffic constantly entering and leaving. The store itself is relatively small, but then again, most comic stores ARE small. But do not be deceived, good reader. The number of books housed at Comic Relief is quite a lot! The owner is always courteous. But he doesn't say very much if anything at all. Which can be a good thing if you're an introvert, I suppose. :) Overall, this place is excellent for finding the latest releases and even hard-to-find variant covers. However, it's not the best for back issues or quality of issues, for that matter. If it hasn't come out within that same week, expect to find bent corners, spine ticks, and spine wear galore on most of the books. It's not that people are beating the books to hell. It's actually the racks on which they sit, which tend to be simple wire shelves with gaps in them, that the books fall victim to. The wood shelf system on the back wall is much more efficient. However, the way the books tend to be packed on those shelves can also give way to an epic collapse knocking several books to the floor in a matter of seconds. Yikes! And yes, I did see that happen on a number of occasions.
