I got Alwar Pak Milk Cakes which were a bit too solid of a texture and a bit of a different taste. I think it may have just been too cold in the storage and fridge it was in which altered the texture and taste. The staff were very kind, friendly and happy to talk and help. Overall, a great new addition to the area that offers a ton of flavors that have been missing.

We went throughout the store and found many snacks we normally have to travel to get. So happy we don't have to drive 30+ mins anymore to get them. There were also vegetables and fruits, as well as sweets! Store was decent size, workers were friendly, and there were variety of items. One downside to it was that the checkout lines were very hectic and it took us about 30-40 mins to check out, but since it was their first day and a Sunday, I hope this won't be the norm! Will come again for sure. Can't wait until their hot food opens next week!

Seriously, though, Andy and Hash are great and always make me feel so welcome when I stop by. Now let's get down to business: they make good food. I'm a fan of both their breakfast and lunch sandwiches. The prices are great and all are handmade. Of course, if you want some chips, sodas, snacks, magazines, etc. you'll find that there too. They also have a descent beer selection and offer kegs as well. However, I'm more impressed with the size of their wine and liquor selection, which is surprisingly quite extensive for a building that size.

I have celiac disease, and back when gluten-free food was nowhere near as well-known or widely accommodated as it is today, Basil Bandwagon was one of the only places my family could reliably find food that met my dietary needs. Now, as a health-conscious adult, I still shop here regularly. Not just because of the gluten-free selection, but because of the quality of the food, locally sourced products, healthy options, and all of the unique and niche things you don't find at a conventional grocery store. I've shopped frequently at both the Clinton and Flemington locations over the years and have consistently had great experiences at both. There are tons of options for gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, and plant-based diets, along with a great selection of snacks, specialty products, supplements, fresh foods, and local goods. Within the last couple of years, I also started ordering more frequently from the café, and I can't believe it took me so long! I'm a huge fan of their wraps. They have gluten-free tortillas and bread. They somehow make wraps with relatively simple ingredients taste unbelievably fresh, flavorful, and savory. I've ordered the same wraps at both Clinton and Flemington and they taste practically identical, which says a lot about how consistent the café is between locations. My personal favorite is the Free Bird on a gluten-free tortilla. It's vegan and gluten-free with tofu salad and a savory mustard, and it blew my expectations away. I also love the sauces and dressings they use in the café. I discovered many (if not all) of them are made in-house and are even available bottled to take home. The house-made vegan honey mustard is especially delicious and worth trying. For drinks at the café, I'm a big fan of the Strawberry Fields protein smoothie and the So Kal juice. I've also done their two-day juice cleanse, which includes 12 fresh juices that you can order ahead and pick up. Whether you have specific dietary restrictions, eat vegan or plant-based, prioritize locally sourced and health-conscious foods, or just like discovering interesting products you won't find everywhere else, it's such a fantastic local resource. And with convenient location (right near downtown Clinton) and convenient hours (8 AM to 8 PM every day), it's an easy place to keep coming back to!

Food: I had the waffles with bacon and fresh berries, which made for a really solid breakfast/brunch dish. My wife enjoyed a well-made Cuban sandwich that hit all the right notes. Everything was fresh and satisfying without being over the top. Service: There were quite a few people working in the back, and service was quick and attentive. Multiple staff members checked in, which gave the place a friendly, well-run feel. Aesthetic: The inside has that classic general store charm, with rustic touches and local personality. Place your order at the counter, then have a seat in one of the cozy indoor dining rooms or at one of the outdoor tables while your food is prepared to order. The menu at the LGS covers breakfast staples.. such a two-egg platter ($17) with "your favorite breakfast meat" and home fries; mini-waffles with maple syrup and a tasty berry compote ($17) served with "your favorite breakfast meat"; or the omelette du jour ($17).. as well as familiar lunch options.. like an half-pound smashburger ($17), house-roasted turkey sandwich ($17), or chicken Cuban sandwich ($17), as well as lighter fare like the soup du jour ($7) or a grilled chicken Caesar salad ($17). On a recent visit to LGS for a late weekend lunch, my dining companion and I both opted for the simple, but well-executed Cuban, with grilled chicken and ham sandwich on a ciabatta roll with pickles and roasted garlic dijonaise, which was served alongside a very tasty bean and corn salad. Yum! Given the generously-sized sandwiches, we each had half of our sandwich and struggled to finish one of the other halves between us, so we asked for a to-go container to bring the leftover half home for lunch the next day. After lunch, my dining companion also enjoyed an iced coffee served with iced coffee cubes.. so they don't melt and dilute the elixir of the gods! We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area. PRO TIP #1: Lumberville General Store offers free parking in either Pennsylvania in the gravel parking lot just across PA State Route 32 or New Jersey in the Bull's Island Recreation Area, located just across the Delaware on the other side of the Lumberville-Raven Rock pedestrian bridge that is adjacent to the hotel.
