Thankfully, I was correct - this store was infinitely better! Lots of bargains to be had. Lots of things that look like bargains but the packaging or quantity is just smaller. You have to be sharp wandering the aisles but that's what makes it fun. They have brand names and generics. The best part is that the stuff you do ostensibly recognize is slightly...off. Like it's a flavor that you haven't seen here in the states but you know the item. Check out the picture of my haul, por ejemplo. We all know Manwich tomato sauce in the can but have you ever heard of BBQ Bourbon flavor?? Well they have it in Mexico and it has made its way to Trenton. You don't see these kinds of malls much anymore, usually malls are mega malls with two floors and huge outlet stores and restaurants. This is a sleepy, fun mall that is just a pleasure to walk through. Great if you've got little kids they got lots of little fun things to do here. The mall is extremely clean and the stores are really handy and fun. I love the little food court in the middle of the mall. Such a great place to go especially with kids they have little parks in there. Cool little buggy cars for them to ride. This was also the location for the Burlington county coronavirus vaccine mega site. And that's how I got my chance to see the place. All I have to say is definitely stop in sometime you could walk the entire mall in five or 10 minutes. Cute place I wish I had one like this left in my hometown.

While some stores still remain, the majority of the mall is empty. There were some signs of life, as they have begun their Christmas decorating. Santa's area is built and complete decked all in red and gold with red Christmas trees gave me a glimmer of hope. Sadly, though I doubt it will be long before Morristown Mall is a thing of the past. One more empty ghost town that once was so vital in our youth. Of course, Boscov still remains. Much like the cockroaches that survive apocalyptic conditions Boscov's will hang on till the bitter end. So much potential in spaces like this it is sad to see them with water stained ceilings, cracked tiles and deteriorating right before our eyes. For some reason, the traditional mall is becoming a part of history. Replaced by cyber stores, big box stores, and the convenience of consumerism deliver right to our doorstep.

The Willow Grove area, 3 large stories to walk around, the many stores including a Sears Hardware, a Macy's, and a decent sized food court, they even have enough space for a fountain, a giant Christmas tree that spans all 3 stories and a carousel on the third floor! They also have one of the best Cheesecake Factory's I've been to so far, that's a plus too. Another thing I noticed that is worth pointing out is the fact that unlike other malls, the Willow Grove Mall has many stores open and not too many closed down which is great as it adds to the selection of stores to shop at! The parking lot it is in is very large and wraps around the mall, with a 3 storie parking garage and many other stores around the lot. I'm not at the Willow Grove Mall too often (I live 40 minutes away) but when I do go, it's always a enjoyable experience and an awesome occasion!

My recollection of Willow Grove Park Mall was much brighter than current reality. We came to visit…read morethe Apple Store on the second floor so we could get maintenance on an iWatch. Walking in my first impression was of an under lit massive cave, rather than the circus like atmosphere of the early years of WGPM (the last time I was there was at least 15-20 years ago). Although Bloomingdale's and Macy's still anchored, Strawbridge's Sears and J.C. Penny were long gone. Several escalators were out of service and an elevator was blocked off for repairs. Just a little depressing, and word on the street is that it had recently been sold to scavenger commercial realtor with a bad reputation for selling off poorly functioning malls in pieces and leaving skeletons behind. At least we were successful at Apple. The watched was quickly adjusted and we found a working escalator to exit the building. While the decline and extinction of malls has been happening for a few decades it it still sad to witness their slow demise. What was once a childhood circus of crowded shoppers and noshers, now are almost empty mammoth structures living on borrowed time. But for Apple, Willow Grove Mall would have been a single star experience. What comes next is up to the imagination of not particularly insightful developers.

This is pretty much every suburban cliche all rolled into one. A giant shopping center with…read moreeverything from a Costco to fast food restaurants all rolled into one, with massive parking lots, complicated entries and exits, stop signs where people really don't stop, very little shade on a broiling summer day but hey, you can get a $1.50 hot dog, a hair cut and your toe nails done in one go. For that reason, it's useful, but go at your risk and know that your blood pressure is probably going go up a little bit.
