I've been a customer of Palm Beach for a couple of years now, this location being my home store. The location is easy to get to and I've never had any issue with parking or getting in quickly. The store itself could use a little TLC, like upgrading the flooring, furniture, and fixtures, but sometimes that's out of the control of the actual location itself. I've never experienced a malfunction or mishap with any equipment, though! The associates at this location really care the brand. They are always friendly and attentive, knowledgeable and considerate. Tanning can be expensive when you consider the membership and products altogether, but the associates are great at providing the best possible customer experience and tailoring their offers to what each customer needs. They're also great at prioritizing different needs and managing slow and busy times. I would love to see the company throw a little more money into the upkeep of the salon, because I believe Palm Beach could feel a little more luxurious with just some simple upgrades. I honestly don't know why I kept Palm Beach Tan on my email list after having a bad experience with a membership at the Chandler location last year, but this morning officially did it for me. I'm flying out tonight and received an email advertising "Try Any Service for $10," including a spray tan with 3 additives. Perfect timing, so I figured I'd stop at the Tempe location on my way to work. Before going, I specifically checked the fine print in the email AND the website because I wanted to make sure there wasn't a "new clients only" restriction. I didn't see one. When I arrived, the receptionist asked if I had received the promotional email, which I showed her. She checked me in using my ID and then told me that because I was a former client, the promotion didn't apply -- apparently it's only for new clients. I explained that nowhere in the fine print I could find did it say "new clients only." She was nice about it and even called her manager, so my frustration isn't with her. They discussed my account and determined my last visit was August 30th of last year and that I could use the offer once a full year had passed. So apparently I'm eligible in a few weeks...but not today. ‍ I left without getting the spray tan. If a promotion has eligibility restrictions, especially something as significant as "new clients only" or "you haven't visited in a year," that should be clearly stated BEFORE someone makes the trip to the salon. I'll include screenshots of both the email I received and the website promotion because this is exactly why customers need to read the fine print -- although apparently even that isn't always enough. I don't normally do reviews but I just wanted to tell people about what I experienced today so others don't have to. I walked into this location wishing to get a spray tan before my upcoming trip to Hawaii. I walked into the building and there was no one at the front. I waited as two employees walked up chatting. I stood there waiting and just kind of looking around. One of the girls goes "umm did you like need something or?" I explained I wanted a spray tan and she asked if I wanted the membership. I had to ask her what the different prices because she didn't just explain things to me from the jump. Then once I said I just wanted one she told me what color to get and had me add all these extras to make sure I look good. I was initially told my spray tan was going to be $25 but when she added these extras that I didn't even know what they were for I ended up with a total of $47. I go in, do the tan with no assistance or tips other than to put a hair net on. As I'm walking out they don't even acknowledge me.. it was just an overall displeasing experience. I now am home not even knowing what color my spray tan is going to look like or how long I should be leaving it on. I guess it's my bad for not asking but you would also think they would at least try to help me since I said it was my first time and I was nervous. Just disappointed I guess. read more

I rarely ever write reviews, but the girls here were so rude to the point where I completely switched tanning salons. I moved here from a different state and had the option to transfer my membership to this location and ultimately completely canceled my membership because I actually dread coming here knowing it was going to be a whole process dealing with the customer service. I literally just walked out. I have never had such an awful, nonsense, up selling experience in my life. It starts at $20 and then goes up, up and up from there. When I say "I'd really like the most basic thing you've got" that's your cue to stop selling and charge the card. I finally said "it shouldn't be this hard, it's spray tan" and walked out. this place is a damn money scam lmao 1 tan cost me 30, then girly pop tried to sell me a "deal" and i ended up paying almost $100 for two tans? not sure what kind of "package" that is. she also told me that she was only going to let me go for 7 minutes, when it's my choice how long i want to tan for. not to mention, easily the worst tanning bed i have ever been in. at least 4 or 5 or the bulbs were burnt out and i hardly was even warm during my "7 mins". not coming back and do not recommend. read more

I'm new to spray tan, and by new i mean this was my FIRST time. Of course i am scared i don't want to look orange. Kylie helped me and explained everything and made me feel at ease. Walking out was a bit scary, however she assured me that things will blend and give they way they are intended. I started writing a review when they first bought out the previous darque tan but wanted to give it some time for my opinion to ferment, if you will, so have a initial and now review. INITIAL:lot more expensive than the previous darque tan that was here which isn't validated whatsoever, everything is exactly the same. I think it's completely ridiculous that they failed to honor my resigning contract from darque tan. I was supposed to receive a $25 surplus for resigning due to the fact that they wouldn't hold my account for over 2 months while I was away. They are a lot more focused on selling retail products in almost an invasive "peer pressure" sort of way, stay strong mighty stingrays! It's annoying that when I come in the level 2 beds that I pay to use are always taken, thus making me wait at least 20 minutes (ain't no one got time for that). NOW: I am a lot happier with Palm Beach tanning, their employees are friendly and knowledgeable especially Lizzy, she's great, I don't even have to say my name anymore . I'm not sure what happened, if they prices drove people away but it's never crowded anymore. Their hours are a lot longer which is nice for flexibility. They seem a lot more efficient than the other tanning company and the employees are more professional. read more

Horrible! I seriously regret ever taking my business here. They close whenever they feel like it, and definitely before 7pm or 8pm like shown on the website and locations windows. I see others have said the same thing, and it's true! I try to tan after work and on multiple occasions I've be there at 7:30pm on week days when they're already closed and they aren't supposed to be until 8pm.. I've tried to call and tell the assistant manager and she failed to fix the issue. Therefore I had to quit going here because they're so unprofessional. read more

It's a shame that up selling get such a bad rap, to tan well you have to pay well. These gals are nothing short of tiny little wolves on Wall Street, but excellent at what they do. You can tell they all use the product they sell and clearly stand behind it. I would think as with any salon their lotions are a bit pricey yes of course you can find better deals online. However from what I can tell their product knowledge seems to be top notch from knowing which beds have the most recent bulb replacements to how modifying and changing bed selections amplify for the best deepest darkest tan.. Of the few months I've been and friends I referred, I've earned for the lotions and free upgrades, they have awesome daily specials and discount upgrades fairly often. read more

They close before the hours posted on the door and website, and Ive been left standing outside the door with a few other customers when it's well before closing wondering why they have no lights on and already locked up. I tried to talk to the assistant manager and it still happened 4 more times after our conversation she did nothing to change it. I tried to go higher up and still nothing. So I was forced to cancel my membership. I wouldn't recommend anyone to tan here. read more

I LOVE this location of Palm Beach Tan! The pricing is great for the quality service and the tans provided. The manager, Sarah, is so knowledgeable on their products. All their front desk girls are kind and knowledgeable. I would still be going to this location if I lived in the area. read more

Palm beach hours say they open at 8am. I showed up at 8:10am, salon was still closed. I understand people oversleep, etc but these are the people your trusting with your tanning experience. Low responsibility and reliability. I stayed until 8:40am and still no one was there. read more

I just wanted to put in a compliment for a pleasant associate that helped me today - Lizzie. She was *ULTRA* professional and good under pressure. The place was busy when I went in for a tan for the first time in years (I am a former Palm Beach Tan customer from the Chicago locations). She really did a great job giving me the full tour/refresh, and explaining everything to me quickly with a bubbly attitude and demeanor as if I was the first customer of the day even though I came in late in the day. I'm very torn for this review. My mother in law and I needed spray tans for a wedding this upcoming weekend and were nervous to get our very first one but Becky made the process so easy and pleasant. We were able to use the coupon for our first spray tan free, so we did the Versa pro and purchased the primer & body wash that she recommended. We both loved the color, but the tan was pretty blotchy on mine. Nevertheless, we were excited and happy. Today, however, we both woke up with horrible rashes and itchy all over. My mother in law did not use the body wash like I did, so all roads lead to the spray tan. I do not think I will return. The prices are very high, but the equipment is great. I'm really bummed that this resulted in such a blotchy, itchy, rash of a tan, but the workers are nice and I'm sure the regular beds are nice. (Don't do the Versa!!!!!) read more

I love this place. Becca, the store manager, is warm and kind every time I see her. She always has great recommendations for products and never pushes me to purchase more than I am interested in. The beds are always squeaky clean and all of the staff are friendly and helpful. It is a good experience every single time I go there!! Not to mention that the spray tan is BOMB and nothing compares to the versa pro double dip 17. I seriously am a happier person when I have that amazing color. read more
