I left another tanning salon in town as they had constant billing issues etc. Today I go in and the store is wrecked. They're putting down new flooring in the middle of the day. Two ladies were waiting and said they'd been waiting 20 minutes. When I asked what was going on I was told '1/2 my beds are down. Whatever you need is going to be a while.' Frustration began to grow. When I inquired about a appointment, I was told no appointments. (Not what I was told when I joined). After some discussion I'm finally told the salon would be like this for '3 days'. Basically unavailable until next week 'for whatever you want'. Not sure if I'm going to continue my membership. Basic communications go a long way. A simple email or text could have helped this situation. read more

I have been a very loyal Customer for over 12 years and I was on the yearly plan $499 a year for unlimited visits and use of any bed. When I went in yesterday to tan I was informed that my membership had expired and that the price had increased to $1,200 a year which includes spray tans that I have never and would never use and since due to my work schedule I can actually only tan about twice a week it wasn't worth the cost for me and I was informed that was basically my only option or I could go month to month for $110 which again seems like not a very good deal for me. I'm a previous member from Palm Beach tan and went in today to obtain a membership. I have an event this weekend and was hoping to build up from my base before the event. With it being Monday I figured I could tan 3-5 times this week starting today. Unfortunately when I went in their internet was down so I wasn't able to start a membership. The girl stated all she can do is put people in beds. I asked if I could go ahead and tan today with the intention of getting a membership tomorrow, stated that I could put cash down as collateral or she could get my credit information so they could charge me later. She stated she couldn't take my details because she could get fired. I feel like there should be back up options for when technology fails. It's easy enough to have some credit card auth forms for something like this. At the least, how hard would it be to just comp a tan for someone who came in specifically looking for a membership?! I was even willing to leave a belonging or cash as collateral... now I'm considering an alternative company. I'd gone to them in the past but this is just bad customer service. read more

This place is horrible!! No service!! They recommend me the best tanning #27, but it's not working.. After few visits - no result! So I switched for #14, which is less expensive but it also not good! I understood they didn't changed lamps, that's why there was no result of tan.. But it's even worse!! Because it can afford cancer!!! Was trying to get my money back, because paid $130 for nothing! They refused to give it back! This place is not about to serve people and bring them happiness! They just stoled money from me! Update: This location still has a great staff, but overall the corporate promotions are a scam and I spend more time arguing to try to get what I have paid for than actually tanning. I'm a pretty agreeable person, but I keep just wasting money and more importantly my time, because everything expires way too quickly. Even if you have a PAID monthly membership, any additional PAID upgrades still expire. The deals sound great but they don't fully explain them to the employees and they change so often that I don't blame them for not being able to fully explain to customers. So the problem is - we are not informed on what we are actually paying for and end up wasting money. This is a corporate issue and not specific to this location. Overall most of the staff I have come across has been great and understanding. But I'm done trying with corporately owned tanning. I've wasted far more money than I've saved. Well, I went to their location on Main St., but since there was no listing for that location I'll just put the review here. I found the salon to be spotless, the staff extremely friendly and attentive. The Mystic Tan process is well-explained in the video they show you, and they were very good about making sure I understood everything. Make sure you hold your breath, though...they don't have the nose plugs and boy that stuff tastes awful if you breathe it in!!! read more

I have tanned at different palm beach locations over the last 8 years. I've never had any issues but I've also never had absolutely wonderful experiences. I always had an uneasy feeling, like I was being judged or the girls were always stuck up or something. But Casey at the 3040 location is always really nice and laid back and never tried to be pushy on products. I understand they make commission so I get it-- but sometimes, I don't want to talk about what I need, I just want to relax and tan. All in all, I've never had any issues UV tanning and their bed selection at this location is fabulous. Recently I had to stop UV tanning bc I started laser hair removal treatments and I was terrified to spray tan. I had no idea what to do, so one of the girls assisted me and instructed me on how to stand and all of that. I guess it's just your own preferences, but I stated that I did not want orange feet, discolored nails, etc and was told to not even use the barrier lotion provided-- that was a huge mistake. I was put in the mystic tanning booth and the bottom of my feet were black, nails were orange/yellow and my hands were sooooooooo messed up, I was so embarrassed to go in public and bought sugar scrubs and showered twice a day for the next couple days until the spray tan came off. I also recently had moved, so I took this opportunity to cancel my membership and find a salon closer to my new home that I felt was more knowledgeable in spray tanning, maybe it's knowing that the person telling me which spray tan to use isn't making commission off of my selection is what makes me feel more comfortable vs spray tanning at palm beach. I did not have any issues cancelling my membership, I would have preferred cancelling over the phone (I'm anti confrontational) but I understand the reasoning behind cancelling in person. read more

I am so frustrated with the corporate customer service. They NEVER return calls! They are a joke....don't take care of their customers. I was a darque tan customer which they bought out total years about 8 as a customer and I can't even get them to respond to any issues I have. So I check into Palm Beach Tan and the store manager Trenna says I can't tan because I don't have a pin set up because I joined in Austin. I've been to 10 other Palm Beach Tan's and never had a problem. All she knows to say is call corporate. Call corporate. Funny corporate doesn't care where I live when they hit my account for 60 bucks each month they don't care if I live in Switzerland. They don't care if I live in China. But because this girl isn't bright enough to figure the issue out or give me a supervisors name I leave unhappy. Toronto is worthless. She should pay you to work there. And if I don't have a pin number - dear Palm Beach Tan it's your problem not mine. You should've set me up one when I joined. Trenna is beyond numb. read more

March 1st I purchased the Gold Plan for $39.99 plus $20 setup fee. March 21st, the salon closed due to Covid-19 pandemic. On May 1st the store reopened and I went in today to see if I could get my 10 days of tanning that I never received because the store was closed. Their response was a quick no. I paid for a full month and PBT will not even honor that. Will not do business with this company again! read more

Dusty air vents in beds. The red light therapy was honestly a joke.... pink lights with a shaking floor? You could of fooled me.. saying they can't make medical claims on what this machine does.. but it's red light? How is it making claims if red light which have been proven to have these benefits on skin. Annoying repetitious manager, other girls that worked there were always sweet never too pushy. 100 month to wait in line, dirty beds, hear the manager gossip about other employees on the store phone.. sometimes while I'm in the waiting room!!Yeah found Sun Glo spa in Keller sooooo much better pricing took my business there, screw palm beach I'm going to have a real spa day. read more

I first came to this facility a few months ago. My wife and I were greeted by Sarah, she is friendly kind and very helpful. She and her staff are good at remembering names and what your preferences are. You can tell that this place is good, in spite of it being busy, the longest I have had to wait is five minutes. The beds are always spotless and the staff will go the extra mile to make you comfortable. Also, the facility itself is very nice and well set up. The only complaint that I have is something beyond their control, and that is the limited parking near the front door. That being said, the staff will go out of their way to please you and make sure you have the best possible experience every time you go. I have used other facilities before, but this facility is by far the best place to "get down with some brown" skin that is. read more

Easy to sign up. A nightmare to cancel. I moved out of state and have left numerous messages without a return call before finally reaching a person. I was a customer for a couple of years and they will not budge with their "you must mail in a letter" policy even though it is obvious I have moved and haven't used their services for months while I tried to get a return call. I have never posted a negative review before and should have checked theirs before joining. Coppell is their corporate office location and people are posting complaints there. read more

I just came into this location and was pleasantly pleased with Donnie! He is the nicest and I was impressed with everything he explained to me. I have tanned in the past, but this was the best experience I have EVER had. The location was very clean. The staff is very friendly, but Donnie just stands out, and honestly, I stayed there because I was so happy with my experience. While the exterior and staff may seem nice and clean - I have news for you. Getting a membership with Palm Beach was like pulling out my hair. Fine staff made it easier, but I was still uneasy about handing over my credit card info to a place where it's all fake bake and no real emotions. It would seem like I had no other problems with their establishment. It turns out, I never actually went to the tanning place more than twice a month, and I was just throwing money down the drain. I canceled around the middle of the month, knowing that they would charge if I canceled too late. A month later, and I went online to check my charges - And I see one from Palm Beach. I consider it no big deal, and go up to the store and they tell me it sometimes happens and that they'll refund my card. Another month goes by and they still haven't given me that refund. I call the main branch and they tell me they'll look in to the problem. It takes them another month (and another charge) to figure out that they have been charging me for someone else the entire time. They refused to reimburse me, and I had to switch banks to avoid the fraud! Just a word of caution - If you become a member, you are a member for life (or until you cancel your card!!) read more

I don't know how this location has such good reviews. I live in Lewisville and had to go to the Coppell location (Arlington on Cooper absolute best)because the bulbs/lamps were bad bad and worse. Went in 2 days in a row, and my color did not even change, 3rd day I went in and asked for a bed with newer bulbs,lamps and explained I was not getting any darker (I did not have even a medium tan yet). Everyone who has ever tanned knows you can tell a little over half way whether or not your getting any color, and I knew I was not. When I came out of the room and looked for the lady who helped me, or anyone for that matter, no one was around or would answer when I called out. After this happened quite a few times I finally found someone who would give me an explanation and I quote "Depending on what level a package I purchased I was only going to get so dark as there was a limit to how dark one would get per the package I purchased no matter how many times I tanned, even if I went everyday." Really, I was not told that and I knew that to be a lie. I went to the Coppell location and told the lady at that location what I was told and she laughed, asked me if I believed that ( like are you really that stupid, not knowing I was talking about there sister location). She proceeded to inform me of what I already knew to being correct since I have been tanning for 15 years at various salons all over the metroplex. If the bulbs/lambs are changed when they should be there is NO certain level of darkness or color and that the type of bed does not matter it's all about the bulbs/lamps. After so much time the bulbs/lamps do nothing more than just light up and that an albino would not get a tan with bad bulbs/lamps. I continued to tan at the Coppell location after that since I was progressively getting darker as one expects to. I have not gone back to the Lewisville location although it's inconvenient for me to drive to Coppell and in hindsight I should have gone back and asked to speak to the manager and/or asked other members as they entered if they were having the same issue, I could not have been the only one this happened to. Next time and there will be a next time I will handle it differently. I am in the customer service industry and I know the power of social media, but I hate to use it but I will next time. IF YOU SELL A PRODUCT DON'T CHEAT PEOPLE OR GIVE THEM ONLY HALF OF THE PRODUCT YOU SOLD, BECAUSE IF THIS IS THE ONLY WAY YOUR BUSINESS CAN BE PROFITABLE THEN YOU NEED TO CLOSE YOUR DOORS. CHANGE YOUR BULBS/LAMPS AS YOU SHOULD AND AS IS SUGGESTED ON THE BEDS AND STOP TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE VERY PEOPLE WHO KEEP YOU IN BUSINESS BECAUSE IN THE END, ALTHOUGH IT COULD TAKE A FEW YEARS, YOU WON'T BE IN BUSINESS ANYMORE, AT LEAST NOT AT THE SAME LOCATION. read more
