Love PBT! I was a member years ago when I lived in LA and utilized their Beverly Hills & Brentwood locations. I recently also resigned up at their Chino location because my office was close by until I started working closer to home and didn't care to do the drive, that is, until they took over Summit Tan near my house and now I'm a member again. I called prior to coming to inquire for single session and was informed first session on us and single would be $10 and any add ons extra etc. also stated once I go I would get a tour and discuss more. Okay cool. I arrived and was shown two different sun beds and only was being shown membership prices. I informed I was only interested in a single price as I did not want to commit to a membership especially being my first time. I would want to keep testing before any monthly commitment. She was very adamant on the membership, even if I would have to pay more out of pocket in the long run for single sessions (as she stated) I was okay with that due to again not wanting to commit as of yet. After that she just went to the front and I felt awkward as no single session was acknowledged since she ignored after that so I just left. Why tell someone something over the phone and when I get there totally different. So it is very clear this is a membership only based tanning salon. I waisted my time even coming. And drove to sun coast which is further but I rather start with single sessions! read more

I'm paying for one of the highest memberships and it's really because it's so close to my house. I loved the prior owner and shop. For years, the service was the best, quality of bulbs and tanning and overall presentation inside. It is not even remotely the same. The love and pride from a private owner makes all the difference. I've already completed an email survey. It's the overall experience, including lack of customer engagement and service. Two days later, I went in about 20 min before 7pm. I didn't notice that was the closing time. I stood there for several minutes waiting. I saw the girl walking through the back. I know the door chime went off, so I just waited. More than five minutes later she came up and asked me what bed. I said 1 and she said 2 was way better bulbs. She said let me look and told me I was working my way back up so I could only do 7 min and go for bed 2. I said ok. I came out. There was another customer at the desk and I heard the girl tell her if she's even there 1 min before they close, she would have had to take her. I walk out. The other customer behind me. And then the girl working is outside, locking the door and leaving as well. Lights off. Jumps in a car and gone. I'm sorry, but I have a hard time believing my bed was wiped down when I came out, prior to the door lock. I'd be checking the cameras. I'm ready to give up the convenience. This membership isn't cheap and it's odd that it doesn't seem like real intervention, coaching or accountability are happening especially given all the surveys and feedback. read more

Place has gone down hill. Customer service is awful. The girls don't acknowledge customers waiting. They have 1 girl working at 11am so the beds aren't clean and they can't ask a purchasing customer to hold on for a moment to get the bed ready for membership customers. Lastly when you put your account on hold make sure you check your statements as they continue to charge all year long. Just noticed that one last week as well. Do not go here! read more

First time getting a spray tan here since Palm Beach Tan took over from Summit Beach Tanning. While I am very please with the studio renovations and my tan, I feel the customer service is lacking. When I originally called a few weeks ago, the young lady that answered the phone was great. She was friendly and knowledgeable. However, that was not the case of the young lady they had working the day I got my spray tan. Yes, she was friendly, but didn't seem to know too much about all of the different spray tan options and colors. Love this new Palm Beach Tan location! I was previously frequenting the Eastvale and Orange location, but love this one that is in close proximity to Rancho Cucamonga. I'm a weekly spray tanner and plan to be a Palm Beach member for the foreseeable future! This salon has the Versa machine. Improve you're training, or hire a manager that understands what a customer is trying to tell them. I only wanted to tan for 1 month. That girl didn't charge me a membership. I guess the different girl was some kind of manager she tried to get me to pay a membership. I had to keep saying I wasn't going to tan more than 1 month. I was skeptical at first with the switch over after Lori sold summit beach but let me tell you- this staff is AMAZING. They have welcomed everyone with open arms. The salon is still kept VERY clean and I am happy about that because I am very particular with that. I've been there a few times and the staff Alyssa and Destiny are just so sweet and knowledgeable. I already feel so comfortable with them! I also met the district managers Natalie, Ali, and Melissa and these women know their stuff! They did such a great job training the staff that works there. I was with Lori the last 10 years and it looks like I will continue to be a member with Palm beach tan for a very long time. Thank you so much! I came when this place was Summit for my first tan ever and the girl walked me through the steps and it turned out great! Months later I went back for my second spray tan (I just do it for special occasions) and Palm Beach had taken over but promised they had the same spray tan booth. I said okay and I'd come in. Mind you it had been awhile since my first tan and I had zero idea what I was doing. The girl at the front was busy and I waited to the side knowing I'd need instructions and she just kept saying you can go you can go! I was like but what do I do? I know there's lotion and like a hair net? And she rolled her eyes and said the instructions were on the booth. I was so embarrassed I just went in. I was so confused, I don't think I used the lotion right, I was rushed and ignored and then on my way out she kinda waved me off. I was like what the heck I miss the old place. My tan was uneven and my hands looked awful. I called and spoke to the manager asking how I fix this and she was so apologetic. She called me back after I spoke to a front desk worker and we played phone tag for a bit but she told me to come in for a free tan. I said honestly I'm not really sure I want to do that I'm kind of embarrassed. She pretty much begged me to come back and said that isn't their character. I told her I probably wouldn't need a tan until next year and she assured me that was no problem. So here we are a bit less than a year later and I call to make sure I have a free tan because after getting home nearly in tears being splotchy and embarrassed and exfoliating the heck out of my body for days, I was still hesitant to go back. And the manager answered the phone. Idk if it's a different manager and she was sweet but she was just like yeahhh I don't see anything on your account. I explain and she's like yeahhhh maybe it expired. I see they left a voicemail? I'm like ....... Ok. Forget it lol I'm not fighting for a free tan I had to be coaxed into taking just to give you guys another chance from an awful experience. I don't blame the manager there today really but like put notes in peoples accounts? I literally said I wouldn't be back for a year and was promised it was of no issue. Not to mention it's a 30 min drive here for me since I moved. I had such a frustrating experience at this tanning place. I had been faithfully paying $80 a month for a full year, looking forward to my tanning session, only to be met with attitude from one of the staff members. and the atmosphere was not welcoming No smile at all. To top it off, I was only allowed to tan for 5 minutes, which felt completely unreasonable to me, especially since I tan regularly at the gym. I really feel like I deserve a refund after this disappointing visit. I plan on giving them a call to address this issue. It's disheartening to have had such a negative experience, and I feel compelled to warn others about my encounter at this place. I already miss the old staff, they were friendly cheery and polite. New staff is rude, disengaged and you feel as if you are bothering them with your questions . At another location It took 5 months for them to cancel my subscription when I cancelled including a fraud investigation with my bank. I had a session with them today because I was previously a member with the other tanning salon. Worst service and policy ever. I had a membership under previous ownership for months. Because I don't have record tanning with this new ownership, yet I'm in their system, they would not allow me to tan more than five minutes because I was a walk in with no record. I was told "we are a membership-based place",so that's why. I would think policies that essentially discourage walk-in is not good business. I went to Palm Beach tan on Saturday, September 21st, and for the first time got the cocoon machine and the spray tan. Chloe helped me and she was awesome. She went over everything in great detail. I went back in February for a spray tan and tried out the new mystic spray tan. The business was under construction so there was lots of men working in there but they said they were still open and I could spray. I didn't realize how uncomfortable I would be undressing while there were men working basically above my head in the next room. Also electrical wires were hanging out everywhere in the room I was in. The price of the spray tan seemed insane to me. The hunt for a decent priced local spray tan continues. read more

Something has to change here! First of all they only have one silver bed so you always have to wait. Second I came in Saturday morning and had to wait 45 minutes to even check in and then be told I was third in line for the one available silver bed. They need more than one person on the weekends it's ridiculous. If things don't change quick, I will be cancelling my membership. read more

Terrible experience I was having myself and my daughter sign for the tanning the price started at $119 by the time you leave it's one $147.00 ! I will never come again every time I try to get a tan they make me wait because I am 20 minutes before the 24 hour. It is ridiculous. They're all sitting there, and all the beds are empty, and sometimes when you get there, the girls are at lunch so you have to wait either way, so that changes your wait time for the next day. She was working alone poor girl but she was quick & efficient & did not make me feel rushed or like I didn't matter. I'm so disappointed with this new ownership. First of all the pricing is ridiculous. By the time I walked out the door I had gotten a 7 minute tanning session in which threw me ( I've been tanning for years at 15 with no problems) 7 minutes did nothing in what was supposed to be their hottest bed. Returned several days in a row and still no color. I tan very easily bought their lotion and paid over &200 for a month of this. The $25 start up fee is by far ridiculous. Told I can't cancel till after the next billing occurs. So I'm stuck with 2 months of laying in a bed for the max of 12 minutes per session for nothing. I'm so dissatisfied with this place and would not recommend it to anyone. What a shame. Facility isn't as clean as it should be. They take about 2 minutes to sanitize it and clean in between customers. I was not aware of the switch in ownership, the previous owner (Lori) was very approachable and reasonable. The new ownership, is very corporate, no small business style customer service, it's all business, not approachable, point plank they could care less when it comes to dealing with ANY situation, unless you have your credit card out.I went in there the other day, they were under renovations and still with all the hazards in the way and the machinery not working properly they still tried to sell and and operate. I like the tanning beds here and the workers are very friendly and helpful. However the lamps in the beds have not been changed and well over a year. I upgraded yesterday and one of the face lamps that's been out for over 5 months was still out. Amazing workers! They were so friendly and willing to help you. I had tristan and she made sure to get me to the exact spray tan color that i was looking for and answered all my questions that I had. She showed me how to spray tan this being my first time and demonstrated for me how the process would go down. I see all the negative reviews & honestly do not understand the issue that people have. Complaints that the staff is rude, these girls are so personable, welcoming, & extremely hard working. Super disappointed with the way my membership was dealt with, I have been coming here for a few years and before it was a different owner because she was understanding and actually answered emails or phone calls. I had a family emergency, moved out of town tried to cancel over the phone kept getting told I couldn't they tried to explain how to do it online so I emailed and told them to cancel my account. A month later I get a phone call it never was done. Write them again, they finally do it after two months have already been charged so I owe over $200 but haven't been in to tan in over 3 months. The place has definitely changed their look. But, I think Destiny is a very helpful, cheerful staff member. She also has knowledge on the products and the different beds out there. I look forward to seeing the changes to the bed selection in the up and coming months, like the red light therapy and aqua mist beds.
