I called ahead to ask about pricing, and the woman who answered told me the first spray tan was free. I understood that the goal was likely to upsell memberships or other services, which I was totally fine with. However, when I arrived, the girl checking me in started asking what scent and color I wanted for the spray tan without ever mentioning that those options came with additional charges. I ended up paying $51 for what was supposed to be a "free" tan. I followed all the instructions exactly as they were given. The booth has metal plates where you stand for position purposes, but it was so slippery. I was scared to death. I was gonna fall and break my neck. I had lots of places that were uneven, and the tan did not apply so The girl applied the self tanner, with a mitt to blend it slightly, and told me to rinse the tops of my hands after one hour and then shower fully after four. I did everything by the book. By the next morning, most of the tan had washed off, except for the tops of my hands, which were very orange and uneven. Overall, it was a disappointing and misleading experience. I won't be returning. read more

This is ridiculous watch the signing up process and beware of the mis guided instructions. I was signed up and told that the Red Light Therapy was very beneficial for my bad knee, my total knee replacement, bad back and neck and would remove inflammation. I was not given a pamphlet or anything on services at the time so I could read what each thing did either. I spent 12 min in the red light therapy and my legs and knees hurt standing for that length of time. I was sore, my knees were tight, stiff, and my back and neck ached after the vibration board worked me to death. The suntan bed was nice but I only was allowed 4 min which is nothing. And the spray tan left me orange, streaky, and mis colored and Blotchy. I spent $169 on a headache, pain, and look like an orange zebra. And what makes it worse is they won't give me my money back not even a penny. They said I used 16 min of their services and that is way more than my 30 day membership costs??? Wow!! Disgusting I've never seen bad customer service like this in my life. They also have $250 lotion for your "GREAT TAN". Gesh that's ridiculous too! I usually the Chino, Planet Beach facility, today I visited the Upland facility, to use their red light* bed (it's a stand up). (I've never used a red lights before. I have been hearing and reading great things about these magical lights*. It was my first time using it, so I haven't noticed a difference yet.) I then tanned. The staff walked me through the working of both beds. I'm very happy with my membership, that always means to bounce around to various facilities if needed (my regular facility, said it's fine to go visit other facilities, it's not considered cheating). I'm so very excited about the red lights! At my age, I'll try anything to help my appearance!!! Crossing my fingers and toes, my aging slows down! * Red light therapy (RLT) is an emerging treatment that's showing promise in treating wrinkles, redness, acne, scars and other signs of aging. Many researchers say more clinical trials are needed to confirm its effectiveness as a treatment. This company's employees are not on the same page. I spoke to an employee in mid-October requesting to put my account on hold (as I do not plan on tanning again until Spring) and she assured me that she would place my account on hold and no further charges would be taken out until I restart my account. However, I realized another monthly payment was taken out for November 1st. When I spoke to an employee today, she stated that their employee was mistaken and they are not allowed to put accounts on hold over the phone. She also stated there is nothing they can do regarding the monthly payment that was withdrawn on November 1st. So wrong!!! I live nearby and could have easily gone into the store if I had known it was the only way to place my account on hold. Please make sure your employees are on the same page! read more

I usually go to the Fontana location but Upland was closer so I figured it would be the same... waited over 15 minutes in the lobby to be helped and it was a ghost town. Music was SO loud and I could hear employees laughing but not once did someone come check on me. The phone rang and no one even came to pick it up. After 20 minutes I left without once seeing an employee. Definitely will be making the drive to Fontana as their staff has never done this before, unfortunate for me bcs this drive was so much better, but i will absolutely not be returning. read more

As a former member of the previous tanning salon I really am happy with the new ownerships Upland , location. Destiny the manager is courteous & greets everyone at the reception daily with a smile. She and the staff are quick to clean beds and get the next person in. The perks I like at Palm beach are, they have the fluffy Robes for cocktail tans, they have in store glasses and overall everything is very cleanly. I have used the red light over a year & love the Red light bed. The versapro spray tan is great as well! I've tried almost every bed, including high power & they work great. I am a previous customer from the salon that used to be at At The Beach, and they were great. Now that it is Palm Beach tan. the people that work there are amazing. I look forward to going there. Unfortunately, the air conditioning doesn't work. Apparently, the regional manager stated that when that when it gets 95° inside the building. Then they could shut the door and then go home. Well, I'm paying a lot of money to tan at this establishment, and I think that I should be able to tan comfortably. Unfortunately, I can't. Because it's so dang hot in there that I can't even breathe. Even the people that work there, you can see them perspiring to the point where sweat is rolling down their face. When I mentioned this to them, they said that other people have complained about it too. But according to the regional manager, it's not a necessity to get that fixed right away. I am very disappointed and I hope that this review will get someone to please fix the air conditioning in this building so that I can enjoy my tans again for myself and other people too. read more

Poor customer service. Staff does not explain thoroughly their policies on a freeze and a cancel. I as a customer had to pay for their mistakes twice. They would not refund my monthly and basically for me to use the services when I explained clearly I would never step foot in that location or the company again. I do not feel comfortable and they should not force me to do so because of their mistake. It's not fair and they may have great tanning beds, but it's the staff that makes me keep coming back. They had me call customer support twice and after discussing the issues with the customer support, Ashley, I asked to talk to someone else in hopes that they would be able to help me with my refund. She said there was no one else she was it and in and even if there was, they would not help me. She was very rude and didn't care at all about the mistakes they made, and I had to pay for. We then received a call from palm beach tan offering us a lesser priced membership. So we tried it. After 2 times visiting we canceled. The staff is not very friendly. The second visit I had to wait 15 mins to complete the 24 hour wait time from the previous tanning session. When I got in the bed, it turned off after a minute. So I had to get dressed and alert the staff. After several attempts the bed wouldn't turn on. I said forget it I'll tan a different day. It seemed NO BIG deal that I not only waited 15 mins to tan but it didn't work. They offered a half hearted apology. My time is important to me. It didn't appear to matter to the staff. Mikayla & Macy were so helpful & friendly on my 1st visit. I hadn't been tanning in 25 years so I had no idea what I was doing. I've been going in every day for a week trying to get some color before my son's wedding & I'm not getting burned at all I didn't get the name of the girl who's been helping me this week but she's so pleasant to everyone who walks in. I was shook to hear what i heard when i went to the tanning salon last week. I usually try to go in once a week and i am met by my favorite front desk attendant i believe her name is Tristan. She is the main reason that i drive all the way to upland to go to this select location is because of her customer service she is always ready to hop in and gives amazing recommendations that help my tans turn out spectacular. When i heard what two of the desk attendants were saying about her i was shook and disgusted that it would even happen and it was absolutely rude. I have not seen tristan back at all so i am assuming she quit. With this behavior i will not be returning back to this location and will take my money and membership somewhere else because that was absolutely unprofessional of them and I have some personal decency that i will not repeat the words said but i hope this reaches the right part of management because if i was apart of management i will want to look real nice and hard at my staff cause not only was it rude to talk about someone like that It is really hurting on their brand and if i heard what i did that one time . It is most likely not the first time that It would have been said. Completely unprofessional and I hope that those ladies get a serious talking to because not only are they employees but they are representing the face of their company and i would 100/100 times say that I would be embarrassed to even been seen in that store again knowing how they talk about eachother. I could not un recommend this store any harder my other experiences with Tristan were amazing so If she is at the fontana location or any other location I would gratefully like to know because whenever I walked in and she was on shift everything was put together looking nice and clean towels folded and my bed was always clean. She has amazing customer service and an amazing work attitude and if you ask me the other two can learn a great deal from her! I only put a 1 star but in my opinion i wish i could put zero never coming again maybe i'll consider the fontana location but even that's a stretch if one location talks like that what is to say the other one is not talking the same way when they don't know someone was in the bathroom.
