The salon is well designed and welcoming. I was offered a drink while being seated which is always a nice touch. While I prefer to use my pedicure time to respond to emails, catch up on any news I may have missed, etc. I think it's always important for you and your tech to (at minimum) make introductions, with the tech checking in on preferred nail shape, sensitivities, etc...maybe 5 minutes max of "getting acquainted" conversation. The extent of our exchange was which pedicure I wanted and that was pretty much it. Not necessarily a bad thing all the time, but on this occasion it presented more sales/transactional vs. valued customer. I started writing my review mid service, assigning a three star experience at the beginning; however, the young lady at checkout was kind, conversational, and attentive, which encouraged the bump in stars from three to four. Worth checking out if you live in the area.

Feels different from most salons as they really cater to their customers and genuinely seem to be happy and cheerful. Plenty of parking outside! I recommend calling ahead to book appointment.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. I was a bit nervous booking an appointment at a…read moremed spa since I'd never done so before. But my rosacea was going crazy and I'd researched IPL treatment so... The first visit started out with some disappointment because I was informed that my condition was too bad for treatment at that time. But let me tell you. The kindness and help I received from Iolanda was amazing. She referred me to her very own dermatologist and spent time recommending specific OTC products. She wanted me to get things a bit more under control and then start out with a deep cleanse. So I took her recommendation and visited that dermatologist and the difference in my skin from then to now is remarkable. I went t back for the deep cleanse and Iolanda was shocked at the improvement. I had a wonderful facial that day and I'm ready to now get into the IPL treatments. I am so thankful for Iolanda's kindness, guidance, and care. She could have just taken my money that day and clocked out but it's clear that she cares. And my skin today is grateful for that!

The moment I walked into the spa, I thought I was about to have a great experience. Everything…read morestarted on time, the bed was warm, and the technician initially seemed very sweet. Unfortunately, that changed quickly. I have a new ear piercing and specifically asked that my ear be avoided. While it was fine at first, she soon began repeatedly pulling my hair around the piercing, which became extremely uncomfortable. I also clearly stated that I did not want my neck massaged due to existing neck issues and that I only wanted my head worked on. None of these requests were taken into consideration. Instead, the focus was almost entirely on my neck, and the pressure was far too strong despite my explicit request for light pressure. I experienced soreness for the rest of the day, and my head was barely massaged at all. Because of this, I spent the remainder of the service feeling tense and on edge rather than relaxed. What should have been a calming experience ended up being uncomfortable and disappointing due to my preferences and physical limitations being ignored.

Parking at Avalon can be a little crazy, but I would suggest parking in the uncovered lot behind the spa or if you're lucky enough to find a spot in the covered area. Upon arriving, I was greeted by one of the many receptionist who took my name, confirmed what I was having done and took me back to the women's changing dressing room. They provide you with a robe and slippers that you will wear the entire stay of your visit. When entering the women's dressing room, there are many lockers along the left side of the room, where you will create your four digit code and leave your belongings in there (I did keep my phone with me as I have a small smaller child in school) I just kept my phone on silent. Once you have changed, you can walk into the waiting area where there are two rooms that you can sit in and wait for your masseuse, facial, mani/pedi person to come and get you. Snacks are provided as well as champagne (upon request), cucumber/lemon water, and cozy blankets to keep you warm. I did the head to toe package which included a full body, Swedish massage, a facial, and a manicure. For my massage I had Richard, and he was soft spoken, so kind, made sure that I had everything I needed, made me feel extremely comfortable, was very vocal about where he was going to massage, and the pressure was a perfect light, medium. Once my massage was finished, he left the room and allowed me to get dressed. I left the door cracked as instructed once I was done dressing, he took me back to the waiting area, where I waited for my facial. I am definitely requesting him the next time I go back. Misa then came and got me for my facial, and I did the soothe + hydrate and let me tell you!! I am EXTREMELY picky about my face, and Misa kept me very informed and comfortable about what myface needed, she did do a blackhead extraction, and that was a little painful, but my face loved everything that she did to it!! I absolutely loved her energy and her kindness. She will definitely be my go to for facials in the future. Once my facial was complete, I went back into the waiting area and waited for the manicurist to come get me for my manicure. They took me to the other side of the spa house where they had a fully equipped nail salon. And that was just your basic nail experience. My hands definitely felt hydrated as they used warm oil and wax to hydrate my hands. Now this place is VERY expensive, but it is worth the price. I will be back with my husband to do a couples massage and facial.
