Let me start by saying that my spray tan looks amazing. With that being said, this was my second time at Opulence and it was drastically different than my first experience. I was mistakenly under the impression that my appointment was at 10am when it was actually scheduled for 10:30am - which I repeatedly apologized for and told Maggie (the owner) that I would wait in the lobby until my 10:30am appointment time. She proceeded to angrily tell me that as a business owner she has a very specific schedule and that I just messed up her whole day. I was embarrassed, but she brought me back to the room and told me to get undressed for my tan. While I'm nude she repeatedly tells me that I've screwed up her day and then also quite literally scolds me like a child about how I did not provide a Yelp review after my last appointment. After this, she told me that I looked "put off" that she asked for a Yelp review when I was, in fact, "put off" at the way she was speaking to me. I was very uncomfortable and felt the need to continuously apologize about being early when I repeatedly told her I would wait until 10:30 for my appointment time so it didn't screw up her day. While I understand that the initial portion of the experience was my mistake, the way she handled it was very unprofessional and does not make for continued customers. My jaw was on the floor that a business owner would speak to a customer this way, regardless of the circumstances. I want to start out by sharing my tan was solid, I got many compliments on the color and no one thought it was a spray tan. So kudos to the business for that. However,I would like to share a very uncomfortable encounter with the owner Maggie. Upon my appointment she was very kind and accommodating with my appointment change. When I arrived to my appointment 15 minutes early for my appointment the stores hours said open online and on the door, but no one was there. I messaged her asking when she'd be arriving and she shared she'd be there in 10 minutes late to the appointment. She arrived 17 minutes late and said she felt my energy was "off" while stood there in the nude right in front of her. The tanning room was not well kept, the bathroom was also unclean. During the tan itself she kept walking in and out of the room while leaving the door open. She was simply too causal with me. This was my first time getting a tan with her and I felt uncomfortable the entire time. She also aggressively attempted to upsell me throughout the 35 minutes I was there. She had also mentioned her celebrity clients and over 30k followers on instagram to help sell product, it felt inauthentic. Later I looked online and confirmed she does not have 30K followers, just odd to lie about something like that. Again, very unprofessional and uncomfortable.
