Ordered pizza online with one of their specials - buy 1 medium pizza at full price and get 1 for 8.99. Asked for gluten free crust. Tipped 20% ahead of time on a carry out order. Got a call saying that gluten free crust costs more, I told them I'd be happy to pay the difference. They told me the difference would be $5. My husband picked up the pizza and they charged him an additional $12 and told him that for future reference, you can't get gluten free pizza using the deal. They should have told me this on the phone if they were going to charge an additional $12, rather than $5 like they'd said. I guess these days it doesn't matter how you treat your customers. If Palio's can't make this right then they lost a customer that orders from them once per week! Edit: just looked up online how much our exact pizzas would cost without the deal and they did indeed overcharge us! read more

The Chicken Pesto sandwich is the best sandwich around! The calzones come in 3 sizes, I ordered a Meduim and it was HUGE and delicious, came with 2 different sauces. So good. Extremely impressed by the old fashioned customer service and quality of food they are serving. Also the option to get whole wheat crust on any pizza we choose was what we were looking for. If you're diabetic and told to eat whole wheat crust there aren't many choices in town. I didn't catch his name but he was extremely helpful and teaching the young kids how to be good at customer service. The salads were extremely fresh and crisp, the Caesar dressing was the best ever and the pizzas were awesome. We got 3 different pizzas since it was our first time eating there. 1 was Palio's vegetable. It was cooked perfectly and had the right amount of everything on it. 2nd one was a wheat crust with onions, mushrooms and hamburger. My husband ate the wheat pizza and loved it. And he's the picky one. my son had a BBQ pizza and also loved it. We like thin crust pizza and loved the crust on all of the pizzas. Can't wait to go back and try other items on the menu. Friendly service. Good pizza. Not the best pizza I've ever had but it was pretty good. I shared a medium pizza with two other people. That might not be enough to feed all three hungry people. I didn't eat much because I felt sick from the sugar snow cone I had prior. We had a Mediterranean pizza, came with artichoke, mushrooms, tomato, onion, and spinach. Picked up pizza from here to last night which is usually good but the experience from last night wasn't so great. We ordered a Caesar salad and unfortunately we also found a peanut in the dressing which my wife ate and is highly allergic to. Not ok for cross contamination to happen. They were going through a renovation, so inside it was extremely noisy. And I felt that the staff could use a little work on their friendliness. But all in all the food was so so good. Their lunch special is really a deal. It's Monday through Friday and it lasts until 3pm. The deal includes a three topping personal size pizza, salad and a drink for 8.99, you can't beat that !!! Love this restaurant. It had alot of charm and the atmosphere was just what we were looking for. I haven't had a good pizza in a long time.
