    Salmon

I'll start with the positives of this restaurant - the service was great. The wait staff was extremely attentive, professional, and hospitable. We were seated immediately with complimentary Prosecco. The ambiance is more sophisticated and upscale, and the plating of the food is beautiful and almost like art. We did the 3 course option. For the first course, I had the burrata. I do not recommend getting it, I couldn't tell if it was the burrata or the tomatoes but it didn't taste like burrata and was awful. I was shocked, especially since that was our first course. Someone else at our table had the burrata as well. I thought maybe it was just me that didn't like it, but the other person also said it was not good and didn't eat it. The salmon dish was amazing. I was very pleased with that - it was cooked excellent and the tomatoes on the side were bursting with flavor. Someone else also had the Lobster Carbonara and it was spectacular!! So so good. For dessert I had the tiramisu which was also amazing. The espresso martini dessert isn't actually a martini, it's ice cream with liquor poured on top which confused us and unfortunately the one who ordered is dairy free so didn't get to enjoy it. They also treated us to complimentary house made limoncello which was a nice surprise. Overall, it's a great restaurant and experience if you're willing to pay the price (EXPENSIVE price). especially if you drink. By far the most expensive meal on our trip and one that we've done in a long time. If the first course was better, I would've given it a 4 star - not quite there to be worth 5 stars for how expensive it is though.

My mom and I were in Puerto Rico to celebrate my 40th birthday and went here for a big celebratory dinner. It was amazing! The tasting menu was delicious with lots of choices, the service was exceptional, and they were very kind when they learned it was my birthday. The restaurant is styled beautifully, but what else can you expect from a resort hotel? The next time I come to Puerto Rico, I am going to stay here for sure!

New Year's Eve reservations for dinner tonight. Not sure what to think seeing that this place only has a 2.5 Stars overall. Keeping my expectations low is best it seems. Our 6:30PM reserved for 6PM by accident. We were still seated. It's a NYE prix fixe menu tonight. $95/PP. Or the pick of the regular menu to choose from as well. Sandra is waiting on us with our drinks. Edgardo is our server tonight. First course: Carrot soup. Second course: 1856 Prime Rib, blackened salmon, pasta and roasted eggplant. Dessert: Hazelnut Chocolate Mousse. One prime rib prix fix medium rare and one blackened salmon prix fixe, one seasonal risotto, Caesar salad, a blackened salmon, burrata salad and a blackened salmon. The tomato and herb bread is okay. The sun dried tomato spread is the best part of the bread. The bread is quite dense and not so billowy, still palatable with the sun dried tomato. The carrot soup is nice and smooth, it could be warmer, it was barley luke warm. The burrata is yummy, the bread accompaniment is fresh and crunchy. The pesto bed is a nice pairing with the burrata cheese. The Caesar salad is full leaves and is good. The anchovies are tasty as well. The seasonal risotto is with goat cheese, caramelized onions and raisins is quite good. The champagne risotto with cilantro with the prix fixe with the salmon is not as good. The prime rib was more medium well than kept up rare, so a bit tougher than expected, still not bad. The mushroom (porcini) risotto was good. Granada Gremolata was also good. All of the salmon was nicely cooked and seasoned too. The panzanella came after our entrees, they were forgotten and missed in the process. The basil dressing was really good, maybe a bit heavy on the dressing, it was swimming. The hazelnut mousse was okay, beautiful presentation, cubicle balls of mousse. The meringue drops were cool accompaniment. The raspberry sauce is the highlight of the dessert to me. Gives a nice tartness to the mousse dessert. I don't get much hazelnut flavoring. Dinner was $175. The prix fix wasn't worth the $95. The carrot soup, panzanella and the hazelnut mousse was not worth the extra $33. The billing got a bit mixed up trying to split the bill in two.

10/10 The food was amazing, the ambiance was great and bougie and the food was literally to die for!

I…read moredescribe this place as Italian with an island flair, so if you are going to be a classic Italian snob, go elsewhere. Every protein, besides being sourced as well as can be for the price point, is treated with a daft touch. Steaks, lamb, and seafood are all done perfectly to bring out their best. It speaks volumes to how well all the different meats are prepared consistently. Alfredo is on point, and so is the carbonera. Coconut rice is perfectly balanced to give that refreshing island feel. Service is extraordinary. Lots of care and attention, but with much faster pace and efficiency than other restaurants that I have been to in PR. Little touches like their version of garlic bread and eggplant for complimentary appetizer, and tap water service are all appreciated by the group. Food is all very moderately priced and particularly of great value given the quality and execution. Very quaint roadside restaurant with tables outside. I wouldn't say it was classy, or anything fancy, but the food and the service more than made up for that shortcoming. The chef even came to check up on us, and the personal love and care are all apparent throughout the restaurant. It is just a block down from coffee therapy, and you can find the directions on Google by searching for the restaurant. The address on Google is 50 CII, Cll Fernández Garcia, Luquillo, 00773.

We were able to get a half meat lovers and half veggie lovers pizza which was nice to be able to get a variety to try. The meat lovers side was loaded with pepperoni, Italian sausage and bacon. The meats tasted fresh and of good quality. The veggie side was good as well with a nice selection of olives, onions, tomatoes and green peppers. The only thing missing was tomato sauce - there was either none or a small amount. But we think that is the way they do pizza here in Puerto Rico so this is not a failing of the restaurant. The interior of the restaurant was nicely decorated and clean. The owner was friendly and helpful and spoke perfect English which was great for us being from the states. My only suggestion would be to light up the menu somehow as it was on black background and being a somewhat sight-challenged middle-aged person it was hard for me to read it. But the owner helped with suggestions and questions to find out what would be good for us. Overall a very good experience and definitely recommended.

The food and drinks were disappointing, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you're nearby and just really need something to eat, though maybe pick something other than the pizza. Food & Drinks: We ordered a frozen piña colada, garlic knots, and a medium pizza (San Gennaro). Here's my review of each: Pina colada - Would not recommend. Unfortunately it was not very well blended (lots of thicker chunks of ice like a shaved ice) and had very little flavor (literally just a kiss of pineapple and coconut flavor). It was like drinking a La Croix, which I do enjoy, but not what I wanted. Garlic knots - These were just okay. The outside was pretty hard and it was missing a little salt to really bring out the flavor. San Gennaro pizza - This was such a letdown, and I'm not usually disappointed by pizza (I love anything from legit Italian pizza to Costco pizza). First, this wasn't really NY style pizza which they advertised - if that's what you're expecting, go elsewhere. That wasn't the real issue though. It overall lacked flavor and wasn't well executed. The crust did not have much flavor and was pretty hard. The veggies on the pizza were anywhere from cold to lukewarm and didn't seem fresh. Lastly, we had ordered the pizza with pepperoni added, but seems they just didn't write it down in our order. At that point we weren't going to wait another hour for pizza, so we just took what we got without complaint. Size wise, the medium pizza came with 6 slices and was enough for 2 people. Service: Service was really slow, however we were warned before we sat down that orders would take about 45 minutes to come out, which we were fine with. Drinks came out in 10 minutes, garlic knots in 25 minutes, and a medium Pizza in 1 hour. There was also a misunderstanding about who was supposed to take our order, so it took a while to get our order in. We sat around for 20 minutes before deciding to just go up to a server and ask them if they could take our order. They did apologize for the mix-up once they realized what happened. Ambiance: Very laid-back ambiance with loud music and some patio seating. Cats (that I think they own) were also roaming around.

She took our orders and it didn't take long at all for the food to come out. We got the alfredo. One with chicken and one with shrimp. We also got an order of homemade fries. The fries took a little longer than our entrée but it wasn't a big deal. We had a lot of food on our plate. It was really good. And we were stuffed to the point we couldn't move. Also, the mushrooms appeared to be from a can, not fresh. Perhaps I am wrong on that point, but that's how it looked. I don't know what kind of fish was used for the Carribean ceviche but it was very tough, very chewy, and sliced rather than diced. I've never had chewy fish before, and I didn't like it. They will not serve tap water, even though it is generally considered safe to drink here. If they want to be over-protective in this way, they should offer filtered tap water without charge. As others reported, service was rather slow - when we arrived there was only one other occupied table, and it took about 20m to receive two of our three ordered dishes, which were all salad or appetizer. Apparently the waiter forgot about the third, and I was actually hoping that she had, but she brought it about 15 minutes after the first two, with apologies. After presenting the check, I provided my credit card, and was asked how much I wanted to tip. That's odd. I told her (and tipped generously, because wait staff deserve a decent income). She went away and later returned with my card, without receipt. I asked for a receipt (of course I want to know the amount actually charged!) . She was unable to print a receipt at that point, so she printed out a register report and showed me the amount there. Really odd. The entrees are quite pricy $20 up near $50.
