We stayed at the resort and on our first night we were recommended to try Nectar. Even without a reservation, we were able to join the waitlist and waited about 20 minutes before being seated. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations for classic Puerto Rican dishes that we really enjoyed. The restaurant is an open space, so if there's a lively table nearby it can get a bit loud and harder to hear at times. Overall, we had a really good experience and enjoyed the food.

In the quest to find a decent restaurant at the Hyatt resort, we stumbled upon this place as it was the only one that was not severely poorly rated. While the service was friendly, we found the food to be somewhat mediocre at best with prices that really reflect the resort. We ordered: * Tempura Shrimp - 5/10: while the sauces were good, the shrimp was overcooked and the batter wasn't super interesting * The Nest Seafood Salad - 4/10: every bit of seafood was overcooked * Nectar's Bowl - 7/10: the flank steak was super tender and delicious, the crab is a weird add on, the rice was a bit salty Overall, if you're looking to stay on the resort and really want to sit down and eat somewhere, then I'm pretty sure this is the only good pick. However, I would highly recommend venturing out and grabbing a more authentic dinner in the town nearby. The decor was a bit strange as it felt like we were in a cafeteria and sitting by the dark window at night was a bit depressing.

Booked the same day via opentable and was able to get a 5:45pm reservation during peak season. Check in took some time as the receptionist was really taking her time writing up some forms. Our server Adrian was very nice. Recommended some dishes and cocktails for us. My daughter claims this is one of the best restaurants she's been to in PR so it deserves the 5 stars. It was really busy but in general be ready for island time service. Took over an hour to get our food after we ordered. The ambiance is very laid back.

Authentic Puerto Rican food with Caribbean spices. Loved the rice with white beans and veggies -- yum! Service was prompt, frequent and friendly. Casual and relaxed ambiance and atmosphere. A great introduction to Puerto Rican cuisine!

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Nectar this Valentine's Day, and it was an experience that exceeded all our expectations! We were so enchanted by our first visit that we couldn't resist returning during our stay, and both times were absolutely spectacular. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere enveloped us in a warm, resort-casual vibe that made us feel right at home. The decor was inviting, and the ambiance set the perfect tone for a romantic evening. Now, let's talk about the food! We both opted for steak, and it was cooked to perfection--tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The seafood selection was equally impressive; I particularly loved the surf and turf, which was a delightful combination that showcased the freshness of the ingredients. The nectar bowls were also a standout, bursting with vibrant flavors and expertly crafted. But what truly set Nectar apart was the service. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and attended to. Their genuine kindness and attentiveness made our dining experience even more special. It was clear that they take pride in what they do, and it made a world of difference. Overall, Nectar is a gem that we can't recommend highly enough. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a delicious meal, this restaurant is a must-visit. We can't wait to return! Also pro tip : they are very accommodating for dietary restrictions and list out common allergens right there on their menu!

Stayed at the Hyatt and decided to try this restaurant one night and I'm glad we did. The restaurant was very nice and clean with many tables for dining in. The service was really good and fast. Server was really helpful and attentive. We ordered the nectar bowl with the skirt steak, rice and plantains and that was amazing. Loved the plantains and rice. Also got the skirt steak with shrimp with chimichurri sauce and French fries on the bottom and we loved that as well. And for appetizers, we got the shrimp tempura and wow, amazing. Everything was so tasty and delicious. Wished we had another night there because I would have definitely gone back for more. Highly recommend this restaurant!

This restaurant is on the property great ambiance . A cute date night spot , or with a group . Good drinks cute cocktails. . Food however 7/10 . You will find better off property . I'm being genrous . It's extremely cold in this restaurant at night !!!!! Great service . Very welcoming , great hospitality.

Halibut was delicious

The food was excellent. It had great flavor and presentation. Even better than the food was our server Melanie!! She went above and beyond with us. It was my daughter's 14th birthday and we asked for fried cheese even though it wasn't on the menu. Melanie informed us that there was no fried cheese there. Just a little bit later , Melanie came out with a plate of fried cheese with a delicious guava sauce!! This is the type of service that's rarely seen. My daughter was super happy to say the least. Too bad they weren't able to sing happy birthday for my daughter like they did for me in 2024. The food was 10/10 Melanie's service was 1000/10.

First time coming to this restaurant with my wife and everything was great the service was fast and friendly and always around the food for the most part was cooked perfectly and seasoned well accept for undercooked mixed vegetables which were gross but other then that we had a great dinner.

Top view of egg rolls

Service: Amazing! Food: Excellent! Many thanks to waitress Soni! She gave me the most perfect recommendations and looked out for my nut allergy and gave me a great alternative sauce ( creamy garlic) a must try! The farm to ocean was amazing! Scrimp are huge and juicy and steak cooked perfectly as requested.

Grandmas favorite

Armando was amazing with his recommendations!! Very attentive and knowledgeable. My orange chocolate drink was one of the best drinks ever. Our recommended app by Armando was phenomenal. Amazing flavors. Grandmas favorite was so flavorful with the wine garlic sauce. Great authentic food. Highly recommend.

The noice level in the restaurant is loud and louder. If you are looking for a nice quiet dinner this is not the place. The food: appetizers are very good. We ordered the pastel filled egg rolls and alcapurria with land crab. Good choices. Entrees: The pork belly, tostones and shrimp. Beautiful plate not very good. The pork belly is a large piece mostly fat. Breaded chicken very good but not worth the price. You can get a very good one at your local diner or Churches or Popeyes. The grandma plate which is sirloin with stick fries. Okay if you like salty food. Best item was the house salad Dessert: Bread pudding flavorful but needs a sauce. Churros good. Service was good however hearing the waiter was very difficult. It's expensive fancy average Puerto Rican food at high end hotel prices.

Absolutely amazing!!! Hands down the best meal I had on my recent trip to Puerto Rico. This place was a hidden gem... Very unassuming. Ambiance: Small & quaint. We were seated in the front area where there were only a few tables, but there was a back area as well with additional seating. Service: Was very good. Again, it's not a large restaurant and the time we went was not busy. The gentleman who served us was also the bartender. Very polite and accommodating. The Food: We ordered 2 passion fruit juices, mini alcapurrias, El Plato de Abuela, Filete Chillo Coronado & Arroz Apastelado. Everything was good but the Filete Chillo Coronado made me face in my chair! It's was so good and the mofongo which it was served on was the best I had the entire trip!!!! I could've eaten the mofongo from here everyday! Overall experience was wonderful! If you're ever on the Hyatt Grand Reserve Resort in Rio Grande, do yourself a favor and make a reservation here. I promise you won't be disappointed! Buen Provecho!

Compared to the other Restraunts at the Hyatt, Nectar has best food, best service and best prices. The other Restraunt's are overrated.

When we arrived, the main room was packed, and the few open tables were reserved. The host asked us if we'd be okay sitting in another room. I explained that we're visiting, and we wouldn't mind waiting for a table to open up where the live band section is. Upon hearing this, they were nice enough to accommodate us and make it happen. Special shoutout to our server! Unfortunately, I forget her name (it's been a month), but I remember she had this AMAZING makeup on, with lots of colorful beads in beautiful patterns across her face, as well as lovely hands with really fun nails and rings. She was so lovely and friendly, and she really made our night! If you see this, thank you :)

The prices were way over: Maybe other meals are worth it but I probably would not visit again

Only restaurant in Hyatt Grand Reserve not ran by Hyatt. Wait staff was adequate Not their fault…read morethey are understaffed. Drinks were ok, not as good as other places in the resort. The drinks we originally ordered that the waiter suggested weren't available. The soup of the day was pea soup that was the highlight of the evening. We had the grilled octopus for an appetizer. It was ok. My wife ordered the fried fish filet for her main course. The breading was mushy and vastly under-cooked. She took one bite. No one questioned why she didn't eat it. I ordered the whole snapper stuffed with shrimp. Beautiful to look at but the cream sauce completely masked the taste of the seafood. Sometimes, less is more. This meal was very expensive for the quality.

This restaurant is one of several located within the huge and beautiful Gran Melia Resort. We had eight people, but were still seated within five minutes without a reservation. The waitress arrived promptly and took our drink orders...then she recognized my nephew. It turns out that my nephew's grandmother is a chef here! So we ended up getting a VIP discount on our meal! Bonus! I ordered a regular Sangria and water to drink with my meal. The Sangria serving was large and delicious, but I didn't detect a lot of alcohol. It was very good otherwise. For dinner, I ordered the Churrasco steak with a side of veggies. When my meal was delivered, it was hot and it looked delicious (photos included). I tasted the veggies first. They were served in a butter and onion sauce that was really delicious. The veggies were steamed, but not overly cooked so they were crunchy still. They were basically perfect. Then I took a bite of my steak. As I cut through it with the knife, I could feel that is was soft and tender throughout. My first bite was awesome! In fact, the entire steak was awesome. The only thing I would change is I would add a slight char to the outside of the steak. My meal was just very, very tasty and I loved it. Everyone else in my party ordered Mofongo of varying flavors or chicken strips and fries. Everyone expressed that their meals were delicious. Okay, so the food is great. Now, for the atmosphere! The location within the Gran Melia resort is just FREAKING DREAMY at night! It's one of those places that you go to once and dream about for the rest of your life with pools, candles, marble floors, fresh flowers everywhere, water everywhere, fountains, lots and lots of private beds with curtains, and breeze blowing just right, etc. It's located next door to a Trump Golf Course and Resort. But Gran Melian's atmosphere actually seemed a lot nicer than the Trump resort! Anyway, with the warm night air flowing through the restaurant and the AMAZING ambiance, this was one of the nicest meals I've ever eaten. I can't wait to stay at the Gran Melian for a few days! Recommend!
