The people in this place are rude. I will say that the pastries are excellent. The food is OK but the staff leaves quite a bit to be desired. not friendly or helpful at all. I've experienced this both but when there and on the phone with them. They act like they don't care they must have too many customers not to care about being nice to people! My niece loves their cookies! They even know her by name and know the cookies she like. The cappuccino are delicious. To get into the parking lot can be a little tricky if you're coming off 46. I've been lucking enough to make a stop after I pick my niece up from school so I only have to make a right into the lot. It's worth the trip! read more

OMG, I had the cookies from here and they were to dieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee for! They're the simple butter cookies or chocolate butter cookies. There's also an amazing biscotti looking one that's almond flavored and I'm bringing these to the next family gathering. I don't even really like Italian cookies because they're always too sweet, taste processed and have too much of that colored sprinkles on them but nothing is too sweet and it's just FLAVOR. This seriously is as good as it gets and I'm continually impressed by them. I wish I could update and give 10 stars. Finally had lunch here today, not just pastries. The lunch crowd is BUSY for this very tiny spot. I would go at 2 or 3 to beat the rush. Lunch ends at 4. It's hard not to judge a book by its cover, but it's important not to let this restaurant's weird location and stark white decor turn you off. My friend and I pulled in on a whim and there were only two cars in the parking lot. When we walked in, there were three employees standing in silence and it was quite awkward. They didn't really greet us or ask us, ask what we wanted, or tell us what anything was so we looked at the case for quite awhile. Eventually my friend went with a cream filled pastry and tea while I got some type of kiwi cake. We sat ourselves and one of the workers put our items on plates then got a cafeteria-esque tray and brought the two cakes and a tea pot over to our table. She didn't seem to speak much english so she just kinda walked away...but at this point we were so eager to dig in that we didn't care about the awkwardness of the silent place. The pastries were delicious. Normally, I don't care for the cream in pastries but this cream seemed to have more flavor, not sweet and artificial like others I've had. The kiwi cake was interesting, something I've never had before. It wasn't overwhelmingly kiwi, more of a faint top layer but the cake had a really nice texture to it. I can't speak for the tea because I didn't have any of it. During our dessert, two groups of people came in and made it less awkward. They all seemed like they'd been there before as they knew what they wanted and how to ask for it. One group got coffee drinks which had cute foam designs and looked really fancy. The other group was some girls and parents, who all got gelato. The gelato isn't on display and I didn't even realize they had it but it looked sooo good. On my way out I saw the flavor listing on the wall and there was a huge variety. When my friend and I were done we kinda sat for awhile...partially because we wern't sure if they brought the check or if we were supposed to go up to the counter. Eventually, we got up to pay. They probably don't take amex since my card wouldn't go through but it worked everywhere before and after this place but my discover worked fine. We also saw a couple picking out a cake and getting a message written on top which is nice to know as an alternative to a grocery store birthday cake or an overly priced deluxe bakery cake. So don't let the off-highway location, ikea decor, and silent service turn you off because if you do you'll miss some fantastic dessert! read more

I went on a weeknight for the first time. I felt like a kid at a candy store, my eyes didn't know how to take in all the food displayed. We tried a few pastries and cappuccinos. Very attentive professional staff patiently explaining all their selections and encouraged us to return to taste the food. It was a very pleasant experience. We went here for lunch today to celebrate a birthday. The food was a delightful surprise! The vegetable sandwich on the menu brought me back to Italy! The mozzarella was so fresh and blended so well with the vegetables. The gnocchi were cooked perfectly and were seasoned well. Naturally, we had to have dessert! Wow! Palazzone has that Italian charm that it almost feels like it was taken out of Italy and dropped into Wayne, NJ. With a large selection of sweet pastries and a traditional Italian menu, Palazzone is one that sold me on traditional Italian desserts. I have yet to find something like this in California, so I still hold out for Palazzone. The location may not be the best (right off of the highway and you have to be on the correct side) and the back area to eat is very small. FOOD: Dessert is definitely the best here. The mini lobster tail is always my favorite and if I needed that afternoon pick-me-up, get that espresso for sure. SERVICE: Can be a hit or a miss here. I think they're still working on the customer service and figuring out the flow of things. It can be a bit slow to get your food. It's been months sine I have been, but I still dream of Palazzone's lobster tails and cannoli and double shot espresso. I brought some back with me to California, but it is never enough! read more
