Employers have long thrown office holiday parties as a way to show their appreciation for their employees' hard work and strengthen relationships in the workplace. But the office holiday party as we know it is thought to have been born in Victorian England. Located off of Pompton Avenue in Cedar Grove, I attended my partner's annual office Christmas party last night, hosted at Il Tulipano, translated from Italian to mean "the tulip." Upon arrival to their 2-story floor-to-ceiling glass-enclosed foyer, we were greeted by the host, decked out in holiday colors, with the main focus on a huge Christmas tree and life-size Santa. Our venue was on the first floor with views of the bar and banquet room leading out to a breathtaking outdoor piazza for wedding ceremonies. Cocktail hour began with buffet-style hot and cold appetizers with a craving station featuring salmon and pork loin wrapped in bacon. For our main meal, there was a choice of chicken, beef, and salmon, accompanied by carrots and asparagus that were cooked to perfection and super fluffy mashed potatoes. All the food on our carefully selected menu is cooked to perfection. To end the night, a dessert dish of mini samplers with the decorated Christmas tree was offered. For entertainment, a DJ was hired for dancing. Fake money was given out to guests for pleasure to bet on some casino table games (craps, roulette, and blackjack) to win prizes such as an Apple Watch, several wine baskets, and the grand prize, a 55" smart TV. Every single staff member worked like a fine-oiled machine, producing a high-quality experience. It was truly an unforgettable experience for us. Thank you, Royal Packaging!

I simply cannot say enough in praise of il Tulipano. In July 2024 we held our wedding, and we could not have asked or prayed for better than what we were given! We first met Chef Mario in early 2023 while we were researching venues and cost. We toured approximately 8 -10 venues, and we corresponded with several venues online. But our hearts and minds could not stop thinking about il Tulipano. We were in love with Chef Mario's passion for what he does and infectious personality. He truly is the best! Not only was the venue a great price, but we felt honored to be a part of the il Tulipano family! We couldn't have chosen a better venue for our wedding! The setting was stunning, the food incredibly delicious, and the team went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect! Our guest was blown away at how beautiful everything was. Chef Mario and his staff never hesitated to provide guidance, help and support before and during our wedding. Appetizers were so good that they were mistaken for the dinner but were surpassed by the actual main entree. The dessert room was the showstopper! Staff that treated us like family-Joellen, Mike, and Sunday were unbeatable!--and the warmth of Chef Mario made all the difference in an event that shone from the top management down to everyone involved in making our day so special, memorable, and beautiful. If you're looking for a dream venue that delivers on ambience, service, cost and a personal touch, look no further! il Tulipano is bound to impress you and your guests. The most remarkable moment in life is when you meet the person who makes you complete. Thank you, Chef Mario, and il Tulipano!!

My husband and I had our wedding here 03/18/22 and everything was amazing! Carlos was very helpful up until last minute arrangements with our remembrance table and updated guest list. Guests are still raving about the great food, especially how amazing and plentiful cocktail hour was! Raves included everything from the squid salad to the delicious duck. Carlos and his team were very accommodating to our vendors. Guests were being attended to very closely by staff during dinner. Sunday was an amazing bridal attendant and was very helpful with selecting food for me and my husband and assisting us. Everyone at our wedding had a fantastic time! Our day went by so smoothly

The bathroom :) forgot to mention the sinks are beyond beautiful, they take me back to Italia

A solid 4 stars. Attended a wedding here and was quite impressed. Been to many venues in NJ and if my memory serves me right there wasn't a buffet styled reception which I went back for seconds. The entrees included but weren't limited to stewed beef, calamari, pasta, tomato scallops and tea neck clams! Needless to say, I enjoyed my meal. It wasnt fancy schmancy but for NJ it was good. This is my first time here and I thought it was great. Not sure if this place is open to public or events only. Be sure to check ahead of time.

It definitely has a cozy feeling though and is a very pleasant place for relaxing dinner. The restaurant is a BYOB establishment, and they deftly opened our bottle of wine. I would have broken the cork for certain. For starters my father and I both had their version of Oysters Rockefeller. It included six oysters that were prepared with bacon, spinach onions and cream. While not strictly traditional it was absolutely delicious, and we'd order it again. The restaurant also serves Spiedini alla Romano, which you don't see often. We didn't get it this time, but we saw it being served and will definitely try it on our next visit. For entrees we ordered the Veal Francaise. It came with roasted potatoes and vegetables that were perfectly cooked. The veal was tender, and the Francaise sauce was flavorful with a proper lemony note. This is another dish we'll order again. The service was friendly and attentive. The prices are very reasonable. Casa Arturo Bistro is definitely worth a try.

There is a small little parking lot that can fit 4-5 cars right off the main road. Inside was decorated with cute Christmas decor, and the domestic violence scene from Godfather Part 1 casually playing on the TV while I'm trying to eat my food. Good variety of options of appetizers, small shared plates, pizza, fresh pasta, and entrées to choose from our group decided to split the popular pizza. Then everyone offended for themselves - our table ordered the gnocchi with pesto and chicken Milanese, chicken parmigiana with penne, Arancini, and the "focaccia"/house garlic bread. The Arancini was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft and luscious on the inside. The pizza was a perfect sweet and savory combo of burrata, prosciutto, and balsamic glaze. The pesto was a bit thin and ate a little soupier than I prefer. Buyer beware with the focaccia - although it's called focaccia, it's also listed under the pizzas so it was served thin and crispy like a pizza rather than thick and fluffy like we had been expecting. I would absolutely return again to try all the other dishes, especially the shared plates, different pizzas, and other fresh pasta offerings.

For apps: Clams oreganato (the couple with us enjoyed this), flat bread (was much more like pizza than flat bread, but still tasty, per my husband), and on the special New England Clam Chowder which was very good, not too thick and decent and fresh clams in it. Entrees: Shrimp Risotto scampi, very flavorful Risotto cooked perfectly. Two of us ordered the Cajun Mahi Mahi, over spinach with mashed, and 2 shrimp. the Cajun sauce was tasty with the perfect amount of heat, shrimp and mahi-mahi fresh and cooked perfectly. Rigatoni Bolognese which my husband enjoyed and said it was almost as good as my Italian mother's (like a good son-in-law) lol Dessert: Crème Brûlée - Brûlée was perfect, the crème was a little too thick for me. I ate it and enjoyed it, but not the best I've had. My husband ordered the key Lime Pie happy that it did not include nuts in the crust as some do, he thought it was good. Moments later, we were in the capable and charismatic hands of Maya, our server. She brought not just efficiency, but real joy to the table: quick wit, a warm and friendly vibe, and an infectious passion for the food that made every recommendation feel personal and sincere. Hospitality like hers elevates a meal from good to memorable. We began with the Caesar salad, and it was exactly what a Caesar should be: crisp, balanced, and perfectly executed, with that ideal punch of garlic, anchovy, and Parmesan. No missteps here this was textbook excellence. Next came the meatballs, and they were glorious enormous, tender orbs that instantly transported me back to Sunday dinners at my grandmother's table. Generous in size and soulful in flavor, they were everything you want in a classic Italian meatball. The accompanying tomato sauce was nothing short of velvety luxury: smooth, rich, deeply savory, and so delicious I found myself sneaking extra spoonfuls just to savor it. On a whim, I requested a side of the short rib ragu, and it proved to be one of the standout moments of the night. Braised to fall apart tenderness in what I can only describe as an osso buco style preparation, it mirrored the kind of slow cooked, soul warming short ribs I make at home only better. The depth of flavor was top notch, luxurious without being heavy. For the main event, I went with the chicken Parmesan, and let me tell you; it was the bomb-diggity of chicken parms. Massive in portion (honestly, almost comically large), it arrived golden and crisp on the outside, juicy within, blanketed in that same magnificent tomato sauce and a generous snowfall of melted cheese. Every bite was pure comfort and satisfaction. Congratulations to the kitchen this is how chicken Parm should be done. A lovely surprise came when the chef himself stopped by the table to say hello. That personal touch, combined with the restaurant's charming ambiance lush hanging vines draping overhead like a cozy Italian garden created a wonderfully inviting and relaxed vibe that made the whole experience feel special. I left with generous leftovers, already plotting to pair the short rib ragu with fresh pappardelle pasta at home. From the warm welcome to the passionate service and soul satisfying plates, this was a thoroughly wonderful evening. If you're craving authentic Italian American comfort food served with heart, this place delivers in spades. Highly recommended.

However, usually when the three of us order that much food at a NJ Italian restaurant, we have leftovers. Here, the portions were smaller, with nothing left to take home. Pricing - The menu prices were run of the mill for north Jersey. However, there were arbitrary price hikes of about $.70 added to all items when the bill came. Not a huge deal, but if they are squeezing every table for almost an extra dollar per item, that's quite a bit of unidentified charges they're taking in without the customer's knowledge.
