The condo was straight from the 80s with popcorn ceilings, wooden trim, yellowing formica laminate countertops and yellowing appliances to match. The bathroom had broken and loose floor tiles. The worst part was the spider in the toilet, mold around the jets in the bathtub and stains on the bedding! And if that wasn't enough, the bed was absolutely PAINFUL! The only good things I can say about the place was the property grounds were nice and the area was quiet. Overall, the place was a waste of our time and money. I have no idea why in the world they have any good reviews.

But, I can't believe how far $250 a night got us in this resort. The suite was incredible clean and spacious. Everything seemed relatively updated, maintained, and very clean. The resort grounds were immaculate. The lodge/style resort rooms looked great. The adult-ish pool area looks much better than the online pictures. In fact, we commented that this was the one resort we've ever stayed in where the pictures didn't do the room and grounds justice. Most places filter and photoshop the crap out of their pictures. The staff and clientele were polite and friendly. The strip is nearby, if tourist traps are your thing, but the resort feels secluded. The only thing I can think to comment on is that there really isn't a view, which is no big deal. I think that's why it's priced slightly lower than the other resorts that have views. The grounds are nice enough to look at and the aforementioned aspects are more important. We'd stay here again. It was a nice surprise.

Called Stormy Pointe they said we had to go to their location to check in. Drove over there to check in the ladies were great and THEN we were directed to go over to the other counter to get a parking pass. We were getting set up with Sadey to get the parking pass and then she started talking about a $200 entertainment card for sitting through their speal on time shares. I was good with us (both my best friend and myself) doing it, so she asked for a drivers license and credit card, we gave them to her, as we thought she was using this as like 2 forms of ID, as she is entering my best friend's info in, she said they were going to put a $100 hold on our credit card. Now, I get the timeshare speals I've done them before in PCB and Myrtle Beach, but they never put a $100 hold on credit card. So I asked what we needed to give a credit card for and why $100 hold because i don't authorize any charges, she said its just a charge that would be pending for 24 hours and wouldn't actually charge our card. I quickly said No, thats not going to happen i don't authorize any charge or hold on my card.. this guy standing at the same counter pipes in and interupts rudely to say "well are planning on not showing up?" To which i said no, if I'm signing up to go why would i not show? He said the hold is to ensure i show up to their speal... What?!?! If you're offering a $200 entertainment gift card to sit there for what 30 minutes to an hour, why would you need to put $100 hold if I don't show up??? That just should mean I don't get your $200 entertainment gift card, NOT HAVE TO PAY ANOTHER $100..especially when we have already paid hundreds of dollars to rent a lodge here. He rudely interrupted AGAIN and said i was getting loud with Sadey and he was going to have to ask me to leave or he will call the police! What!?!?!? So I said we were fine until he chimed in, he said i was getting aggressive with Sadey and he is her supervisor and he doesn't care if I'm a guest or not I needed to leave. Carried our things in and the three of us claimed rooms (there is 4 rooms so one is still open). We get settled in and right off the bat a cover on a bed has a stain. So had to pull that off and use the spare beds cover. Then go in rooms to go to bed. One room the TV remote had no batteries and the bed was so lopsided, tried to sleep but was so uncomfortable in that bed and hot. Next morning my friend went to open the door to come out of her room and the door handle came off and almost couldn't get out. Put it back on as fast as we could I decided to shower and get ready for the day, her shower door in room was off track. Finally ready for the day and went to throw a small load of 2 things in the small washer and the washer sounds like we have a jackhammering crew inside the cabin. So since we haven't been here but 12 hrs we call maintenance number no answer no call back.

We were on the bottom floor, so we didn't have the best view of the lake, but we were able to see it. The staff were all responsive and friendly. They wanted to make sure we had all we needed. When staying here you have access to all the amenities at Big Cedar Lodge, but we stuck to the lake and the marina at Long Creek during our stay. They have a few activities onsite at the Cliffs, mainly crafts. I was too busy fishing to participate this time. We will be back for sure for a future visit.

Great deck looking out over the valley and a smidgen of the lake. It only has 2 chairs so you may consider bringing more if necessary. Fully stocked kitchen except for spices. I do recommend bringing your own salt/pepper, paper plates and cups so you do not have to use theirs and thus wash the dishes. The only marginal thing is the showers in both bathrooms are very tiny and cramped unless you are a smaller but adequate and hot water was fast to come on. Master bedroom has a king and is large in size. The other bedroom has a queen and the window is right next to the stairs to the upper unit. We did not need to use the awesome fireplace but it looks cool for a winter's stay. This location is 2 turns away from the Silver Dollar City exit. You are 15 minutes at the most from getting parked at SDC. Great location for trips to SDC. Downtown Branson for Paula Deens, Bass Pro etc is 20 minutes or so away.
